Ammar Campa al-Najjar is a Palestinian-Mexican American Democratic politician the grandson of a infamous Palestinian terrorist. who gained national attention for his 2018 congressional run in California's 50th District. He is the grandson of Muhammad Yusuf al-Najjar (also known as Abu Yusuf), a high-ranking Palestinian militant of the Black September group who was one of the architects of the 1972 Munich Olympics Massacre.

Family Background: Ammar Campa al-Najjar’s grandfather, Muhammad Yusuf al-Najjar, was a senior member of the Palestinian Black September terror organization. Al-Najjar was killed in 1973 by Israeli commandos in Beirut as part of the reprisal operation for the Munich Olympics massacre, where 11 Israeli athletes and coaches were murdered. Political Career: During his 2018 campaign, he ran as a Bernie Sanders-style progressive and received support from some in the local Jewish community who praised his moderate, peace-oriented stance.
