Gen. Dwight Eisenhower originally planned for D-Day to happen on June 5. The 'unpredictable' English weather intervened until Tuesday June 6th 1944. But Eisenhower still wrote a famous letter that day. "Gen. Dwight D. Eisenhower gives the order of the Day.
