Unsolved Murder Shannan Gilbert Lawsuit Reveals Wild Drug and Sex Party Shannan Was Dumped in Marsh After Oak Beach Sex Party

On May 1st, 2010, Shannan Gilbert was dropped off by her driver/bodyguard, Michael Pak, on Fairway Drive in the beachfront community of Oak Beach Long Island to meet client Joseph Brewer at around 2:00 am for his drug fueled sex party. Most likely more than one person was at Brewer's home early that morn. Joseph Brewer was living in a beach home owned by his mother at 8 The Fairway, Oak Beach, NY on April 30, 2010, the house was on the market for sale in Nov 2011. Shannan Gilbert had to have been to Oak Beach Long Island before May 1st 2010, most likely she had interaction with cop James Burke in the past at other parties and he even might have been there on May 1st 2010.

‘Somebody's after me, they're trying to kill me'. Drugs, Sex, Lies, Murder and Erased Videotape at Oak Beach Long Island Parties. It has been discovered that Oak Beach LI was rampant with swinger and sex parties way before escort Shannan Gilbert was murdered there in May 2010. Former top cop James Burke was heavily involved with the Oak Beach LI sex parties. Who Murdered Shannan Gilbert on Oak Beach Long Island NY. It was Saturday 4:51 a.m. on May 1st, 2010 when Shannan Gilbert had called 911, that call lasted 23 minutes till about 5:14 a.m. She was on the call to 911 operator as she was running through Oak Beach community. 911 was called two more times, sunrise would come at 5:51 a.m. The weather had been clear with a high of 70 degrees on Friday April 30th, 2010 and Saturday May 1, 2010 on east Long Island. But it had rained all day on Monday April 26th and Tuesday April 27th, the ground was wet and soggy in the heavily thicketed marsh with 12 foot high reeds behind Dr Charles Hackett's beach house at Oak Beach LI. Shannan Gilbert called 911 at 4:51 a.m. after meeting a client, Joseph Brewer at his home in Oak Beach, she was there at about 2:00 a.m.. She was at Brewer's beach house for about 2 hours and 51 minutes. Oak Beach is a small residential community near Gilgo Beach, Suffolk County Police arrived at Oak Beach at 5:40 a.m., by then Shannan Gilbert had vanished. Former top cop James Burke and Dr Charles Peter Hackett were long time associates at Sufflock County and pals, cop James Burke hung out at Oak Beach LI sex parties.

Let's get real here, no escort who lives in Jersey City NJ (Shannan Gilbert) is going to take a gig at a sex party in Oak Beach Long Island, which is a 4 hour drive round trip of 120 miles, unless she has been there before and knows the participants and has a guarantee she is going to get paid. You will incur toll roads on this trip to Oak Beach costing about $35.00 round trip and most likely use up a full tank of gas in a SUV, another $80.00. Independent escorts do not take credit cards over the phone, cash only business. 41-year-old Michael Pak drove Shannan Gilbert to the Oak Beach location that night, April 30th, 2010 in a black SUV, they would have left at about 11:30 pm from Jersey City NJ. Mike Pak was hired as a bodyguard and driver in return for one third of Shannan Gilbert's earnings, which would have had to be at least $1,500 to $2,000 for the Brewer party to make this trip worthwhile for both of them. Shannan Gilbert was in Joseph Brewer's house for 2 hours and 51 minutes, way longer than the usual client who pays for one hour. Other people had to be in the Brewer house.

The skeletal remains of murdered Shannon Gilbert were discovered in the marsh behind the home of Dr Charles Peter Hackett on Oak Beach Long Island NY, way up by Ocean Parkway on December 13, 2011. Shannan Gilbert's black boots were found in a different location in the marsh along with her jeans and ID, a 2nd autopsy reveals she had been strangled.
Would you run through a swamp at night with no shoes and your pants off? Shannan's belongings were found approximately thirty yards behind Dr. Hackett's house, a half mile from where Shannan's badly decomposed body was found in the heavily thicketed marsh that lies between Oak Beach and Ocean Parkway. So Shannan Gilbert who is about 5' 5" tall supposedly ran through the muck and mire of the heavily thicketed marsh with 12 foot tall reeds with no shoes and no jeans on, for a distance of about 1/2 mile, not likely!
The Oak Beach marsh has reeds that can grow up to 12-feet-tall around the time of year she went missing (May 2010), blocking views of the highway, the ocean and any other identifiable locators, especially in the dark. It is utterly absurd to believe that  5' 5" tall Shannan Gilbert could have made her way up to near Ocean Parkway from Dr Hackett's Oak beach house through the muck and mire of the wet marsh with 12 foot high reeds while shoeless and half naked.
Gilbert family attorney John Ray, a Long Island native who spent summers at the beach and has experience as a lifeguard, said he thought it was odd that Shannan could have gotten lost in a local marsh."I don't believe Shannon ever entered the marsh," John Ray said.
During the early morning hours of Saturday May 1st, 2010 Shannan Gilbert, a Craigslist sex worker and resident of Jersey City, New Jersey, traveled with her driver Michael Pak, from Manhattan to meet a client Joseph Brewer at his home in the Oak Beach Association on east Long Island NY for a sex party. Shannan Gilbert's driver Mike Pak remained in the area while she met with the client. At some point during the meeting, Gilbert reportedly began acting irrational, prompting her client to contact the driver and have Gilbert leave his home. After refusing to leave the location at the request of her client, Gilbert eventually fled on foot into the Oak Beach community and eventually so we are to believe she went into the marsh, not likely. Shannan Gilbert knocked on several doors before disappearing, all the while on the phone with 911, the call ended at about 5:15 a.m.
Suffolk County Police arrived at Oak Beach at about 5:40 a.m. and by then Shannan Gilbert was gone, somewhere. So from the end of her 911 call at about 5:15 a.m. when Shannan was knocking on doors in the Penny Cove area near Dr Hackett's house at 47 Larboard Ct Babylon Oak Beach LI, to when the police arrived at 5:40 a.m., there is a 25 minute window for someone in Oak Beach to take her into their house. Pak and Brewer were cleared by Police. In December 2011, a year-and-a-half after Shannan Gilbert vanished, police finally found the first sign of the missing 23-year-old in the marsh near Ocean Parkway in Oak Beach LI, over a 1/2 mile from where she was last seen. Circumstantial evidence all stems from a phone call Mari Gilbert allegedly received from Dr Charles Hackett during the mid-afternoon hours of May 3, 2010, two days after Shannan went missing. “[Hackett] did say that he had Shannan, that we was taking care of Shannan, and he was running a halfway house for girls,” she said. Mari added that Hackett seemed “very distant” and worried about himself more than about the well-being of her daughter when asking whether Shannan had come home? What Dr Hackett said about having Shannan two days after she disappeared appears to be false.
December 4th, 2011, "Today they found a pair of jeans...a purse...a cell phone... a pair of shoes ... the pocketbook with identification in the pocketbook belonging to Shannan Gilbert," then-Suffolk County Police Commissioner Richard Dormer told reporters. Shannan’s pocketbook, jeans, shoes and lip gloss were found in the marsh near Anchor Way, near the area residents of Oak Beach reported last seeing her. If Shannan’s remains were found with these items, the accidental drowning theory would make sense. But they weren’t. A week later on Dec 13, 2011, a quarter-of-a-mile away from her belongings, they found Shannan's skeletal remains nearly intact about 20 yards from the Ocean Parkway highway. She had made her way across the marsh with no shoes and no pants on, not very likely! How did her clothing and shoes end up so far from her body? How did she lose her jeans as she's running through the marsh with no shoes on, not very likely! "How could you have her items in one spot and then her body all the way in another spot close to the Ocean Parkway highway? There's not a scintilla of evidence that Shannan Gilbert ever went into the marsh where she is said to have drowned on Oak Beach LI. None whatsoever. And the body where it was found was face up laying with its head on a bush, Atty John Ray said on Fox News. It doesn't make any sense, this was a staged scenario.
STAGED CRIME SCENE: Shannan Gilbert's thigh high black boots with a heel, her tight blue jeans, her purse, and her lip gloss were all conveniently placed in an area where you could access the marsh off of Anchor Way on Oak Beach." Someone who knows law enforcement techniques and crime scene evaluations placed Shannan Gilbert's belongings at the open entrance to the marsh off of Anchor Way on Oak Beach.
Dr. Hackett had "a duty of care to protect Shannan Gilbert and keep her safe from harm and to call the police and/or 9-1-1 to protect Shannan Gilbert, which [Dr.] Hackett failed and refused to do." Plaintiffs claim that as a result of Dr. Hackett's alleged misrepresentations, tortious acts and breaches of trust and duties, Shannan Gilbert "experienced pain, suffering, anguish, agony, knowledge and fear of her imminent death, and her death."
Dr. Charles Peter Hackett was once a “big shot” in his private Oak Beach neighborhood—but after he called the mother of a missing escort, Dr. Hackett found himself linked to an unsolved Long Island murder mystery. Dr. Hackett made a call to Shannan Gilbert's mother, Mari, that she alleges linked him to the night she vanished. Dr. Hackett called Mari Gilbert just a few days later, she claimed the doctor told her he had interacted with Shannan Gilbert the night she died. “Upon information and belief, at all times Defendant Dr. Hackett held himself out to the general public, and in particular to Shannan Gilbert and Mari Gilbert, as the owner/operator of a home for wayward females,” the lawsuit (see below) said. Dr. Hackett, who police have said is not a suspect (why?), initially denied ever making the call, but later admitted to calling the Gilbert family after phone records showed he had placed two different calls in the days that followed Shannan Gilbert's disappearance. How did Dr Hackett know or was able to find the unlisted landline phone number of Mari Gilbert?

"A private autopsy carried out by the family of Shannan Gilbert whose disappearance sparked the hunt for the Gilgo Beach Killer has revealed she was likely strangled. Shannan Gilbert, 24, vanished in 2010 after visiting a client in Long Island, New York, and a later search for her body turned up the remains of ten others, believed to be the victims of a single killer. A state autopsy in December 2014 ruled the cause of Gilbert's death 'inconclusive', meaning she was never included on the official list of the serial murderer's victims, the 2014 autopsy did not reveal any drugs in Gilbert's system. But a new autopsy carried out by former New York medical inspector Michael Baden has revealed evidence that she was strangled, possibly making her the 11th victim on Gilgo Beach / Oak Hills Beach. In a report, seen by the New York Post, Baden said that while the majority of Gilbert's skeleton appears normal, the hyoid bone in her neck was damaged and her larynx was missing. Gilbert’s family attorney, John Ray, added that the two 'horns' at the end of the U-shaped hyoid bone were broken off". “We allege that Dr. Peter Hackett has told others that he encountered Shannan knocking on his door on May 1, that he let her into his home and that he administered narcotics,” said Atty Ray. Gilbert's attorney released stunning new evidence that the neck of 24-year-old Shannan Gilbert had been broken before she was killed and had a puncture hole in it that could have been caused by a medical drill.
Dr Charles Peter Hackett DO Oak Beach NY.
Dr Hackett's house was at 47 Larboard Ct Babylon Oak Beach LI. Approximately 11% of all physicians in the United States are Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine (like Dr Hackett), or DOs, bringing a unique, patient-centered approach to every specialty across the full spectrum of medicine. They are trained to listen and partner with their patients to help them get healthy and stay well. DOs receive special training in the musculoskeletal system, your body’s interconnected system of nerves, muscles and bones especially around the neck and spine. Shortly after Shannon Gilbert's body was discovered, Dr Charles Peter Hackett put his Oak Beach LI house on the market in 2012 and moved away from the area, Newsday reports. He now reportedly lives in Fort Myers, Florida. Attempts to find current contact information for Dr Charles Peter Hackett were not immediately successful for an interview. Dr Charles Peter Hackett, an Oak Beach resident and retired emergency services doctor who curiously inserted himself in the middle of the murder mystery - by calling Shannan's mother Mari Gilbert on May 3, 2010, two days after Shannan went missing. Dr Peter Hackett was formerly a surgeon for the Suffolk County Police Department. Mari Gilbert filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Dr. Peter Hackett for the 2010 death of her daughter, 23-year-old Shannan Gilbert.

NO WAY SHANNAN GILBERT WALKED FROM DR HACKETT'S HOUSE THROUGH DENSE MARSH AND IN PITCH BLACK DARKNESS TO GET TO WITHIN 20 YARDS OF OCEAN PARKWAY - SHE WAS DUMPED AFTER SEX PARTY. Shannan Gilbert ran from Brewer's house east on Oak Beach Rd then south on Anchor Way towards Penny Cove and where Dr Hackett lived. Shannan Gilbert knocked on another neighbor's door. That was Barbara Brennan, who reported a woman knocking on her door at about 5:27 a.m.. She didn't know her and didn't let her in. Barbara Brennan lives about 4 houses from Dr Hackett's house at 47 Larboard Ct Babylon Oak Beach LI. It does not seem logical that Shannan Gilbert dressed in street clothes, no pants, and no shoes, made it all the way from Dr Peter Hackett's, house as seen in the diagram above, across a dense wet marsh, (in the dark) to almost up to Ocean Parkway where he body was found 20 yards from the road. Not possible, her body was dumped from the killer's vehicle on Ocean Parkway. Walking in a wet marsh will pull the shoes right off of your feet. Walking in the dark and with the high weeds and brush it would be impossible to find your way from Dr Hackett's beach house all the way over to Ocean Parkway.

Long Island-based attorney Johnathan Ray, who represents the estate of the Gilbert family in an ongoing wrongful death suit against former Oak Beach resident Dr. Peter Hackett, isn’t satisfied with the SCPD’s investigation thus far. The lawsuit, filed against Dr Charles Peter Hackett in 2012, is still pending today although some parts of it have been dismissed. “The case against Dr. Hackett is for the wrongful death of Shannon Gilbert and for malpractice,” said Ray, adding “We’re saying he’s responsible for her death.” Part of the suit against Hackett, who moved to Fort Myers, FL, shortly after Gilbert was found, alleges that Shannan Gilbert spoke to Dr Hackett on the night in question. The suit alleges that Dr Hackett administered Shannan Gilbert narcotics, saying that she had been distressed, and then released her from his care.

Oak Beach–Captree, frequently just called Oak Beach, was a census-designated place in the town of Babylon in Suffolk County, New York, United States. The population was 286 at the 2010 census when Shannan Gilbert was murdered. At the entrance/exit to/from Oak Beach off of Ocean Parkway you can go east to a paved/dirt turn around that enables you to circle back going west on Ocean Parkway to a marked and paved turn around to return to the entrance to Oak Beach, easy peasy. The person who killed Shannan Gilbert in the Oak Beach Community could have driven to the exit from Oak Beach, with her body in the car, gone east on Ocean Parkway a short distance, stopped and dumped her body in the marsh (about 20 yards in) got back in his car drove another short distance to a paved/dirt turn around and head back, going west on Ocean Parkway to the paved turn around for Oak Beach, made the turn and gone east back to the entrance of Oak Beach, easy peasy. It would be about a 20 min round trip drive, including time dumping her body. See map above.

CONCLUSION: NYC escort Shannan Gilbert never ran through the muck and mire of the heavily thicketed Oak Beach marsh with 12 foot tall reeds without shoes and without her pants for a distance of about 1 mile in pitch black darkness. Based on the 911 calls by Shannan Gilbert and others in the Oak Beach community on May 1, 2010 and the eyeball witness Barbara Brennan who saw Shannan Gilbert at about 5:27 a.m. out side her home, Shannan was last seen 4 houses from Dr Hackett's house at 47 Larboard Ct Babylon Oak Beach LI. Shannan's mother Mari said she received a phone call from Oak Beach resident Dr. Charles Hackett, who allegedly claimed he ran a home for wayward girls and Shannan was safe with him — a call he later denied making, but phone records obtained by the police proved he did call Mari. Dr Hackett appears to be the last person to see Shannan Gilbert alive and she appears to have been in his house, and yet he is not a suspect, LOL. Shannan Gilbert was strangled at a location inside the Oak Beach community and her body was dumped about 20 yards from Ocean Parkwa, on the north fringe of the Oak Beach marsh by the killer. City girl Shannan Gilbert never ran through the Oak Beach marsh shoeless and half naked. Frank Costello said it best, "when I tell you... to dump a body in the marsh, you dump her *IN* the marsh, not by the side of the road".

PART 1 LAWSUIT ESTATE OF Shannan GILBERT BY Sheree GILBERT and Frances Nictora, Co-Administratrices and Estate of Mari Gilbert by Sheree Gilbert, Administratrix, Plaintiffs, v. Charles Peter HACKETT, D.O., a/k/a C. Peter Hackett, D.O., Defendants. This is an action by the representatives of the estates of Shannan Gilbert and of her mother, Mari Gilbert , seeking an award of damages against Dr. Peter Hackett, the sole defendant, in connection with Shannan Gilbert's disappearance and death. As a result of prior rulings of the court, the remaining claims are for Shannan Gilbert's pain and suffering up to the time of her death and for emotional distress and related harms suffered by Mari Gilbert. (Mari Gilbert was killed on July 23, 2016. Mari Gilbert was 52 when she was stabbed hundreds of times with a 15-inch kitchen knife by another daughter, Sarra. She was then bludgeoned to death with a fire extinguisher, according to a court document.). The matter is now before the court on opposing motions to quash and to enforce, two non-party discovery subpoenas duces tecum directed to the Suffolk County Police Department.

PART 2 Shannan Gilbert, who reportedly worked as an escort, disappeared in the early morning hours of May 1, 2010 after being present at a party in the home of one of Dr. Hackett's neighbors in a gated community in Oak Beach on Jones Beach Island in Suffolk County. The plaintiffs claim that Shannan's belongings were found approximately thirty yards behind Dr. Hackett's house, a half mile from where Shannan's badly decomposed body was found, in the heavily thicketed wet marsh that lies between Oak Beach and Ocean Parkway, in December of 2011. The wide and protracted search for Shannan Gilbert resulted in the discovery of the remains of at least ten other individuals in the line of marsh and brush that adjoins Gilgo Beach.

PART 3 Although the action against Dr. Hackett as first brought included causes of action for wrongful death and intentional tort, those claims were dismissed, in a decision and order dated December 10, 2013 (Martin, J.), for having been brought beyond the applicable statutes of limitations. Thereafter, in a decision and order dated December 17, 2017, the court denied Dr. Hackett's subsequent motion for summary judgment dismissing plaintiffs' remaining claims, which are primarily "survival" claims alleging medical malpractice, negligence, gross negligence, breach of fiduciary duty and fraudulent inducement. The gravamen of all of those claims, as well as those previously dismissed as time barred, is the allegation that prior to her disappearance in the early morning hours of May 1, 2010, Shannan Gilbert came under the control and care of the defendant, Charles Hackett a Doctor of Osteopathy licensed to practice medicine in the State of New York.

PART 4 Plaintiffs claim that Dr. Hackett led Shannan - and later, her mother, Mari Gilbert - to believe that he owned and operated a home for "wayward females" out of his Oak Beach house and that he would render "aid" to her there, including medical treatment; that Shannan in fact came under Dr. Hackett's care and control and was administered medication by him; that Shannan was in such a state of confusion and "mental derangement" at that time that she "was incapable of making any informed decisions and of understanding her own or her surrounding circumstances"; and that Dr. Hackett's treatment of Shannan not only was "coerced," but was rendered "negligently, grossly negligently, recklessly and willfully and in reckless disregard of Shannan Gilbert's life and safety."

PART 5 Plaintiffs further claim that in addition to the obligations stemming from the physician-patient relationship that they allege existed between Dr. Hackett and Shannan Gilbert, or which were imposed upon him by virtue of the control he exercised over her and the representations he made to her and to her mother, Dr. Hackett also had "a duty of care to protect Shannan Gilbert and keep her safe from harm and to call the police and/or 9-1-1 to protect Shannan Gilbert, which [Dr.] Hackett failed and refused to do." Plaintiffs claim that as a result of Dr. Hackett's alleged misrepresentations, tortious acts and breaches of trust and duties, Shannan Gilbert "experienced pain, suffering, anguish, agony, knowledge and fear of her imminent death, and her death." In their general allegations (as well as in the specific context of two of their subsequently dismissed causes of action), and perhaps at least partly in anticipation of potential gaps in their proof, plaintiffs also allege that Dr. Hackett "engaged in conduct to conceal and thwart discovery" of his alleged treatment of Shannan Gilbert, including attempting to "thwart" discovery of her body, which, they, claim "frustrated, delayed and blocked" the "determination of her cause of death.

BREAKING NEWS Oak Beach LI swinger and sex parties. Dr Charles Hackett is a former emergency room doctor, and was once the head of the Suffolk County Emergency Medical Services. He was also a police surgeon for Suffolk County, he was sworn in as a police officer. James Burke led the Suffolk County Police Department, one of the nation's largest police forces with 2,500 officers, between 2012 and 2015, a tumultuous three-year period that ended with the conviction of James Burke and multiple other officials on federal charges of obstruction and assault.

Drugs, Sex, Lies, Murder and Erased Videotape at Oak Beach Long Island Parties. Investigation reveals Oak Beach LI was rampant with swinger and sex parties with top cop James Burke way before escort Shannan Gilbert was murdered there in May 2010. Multiple cocaine fueled sex parties took place at the Oak Beach Long Island home of Joseph Brewer besides the one he had from Friday April 30th to Saturday May 1st 2010 where Shannan Gilbert shows up at 2:00 am from Jersey City NJ. Who guaranteed her fee, who did she know at the party that would make her comfortable about having Mike Pak drive her 60 miles in the middle of the night?

James Burke was a police officer in the SCPD and Dr Hackett was a police surgeon for SCPD and Suffolk County ME at the same time, he and Dr Hackett knew each other very well. They both worked on the July 1996 TWA Flight 800 crash scene together. They were at Oak Beach parties together according to sex workers who knew them both. Oak Beach West is not gated while Oak Beach East where Shannan Gilbert went on may 1st 2010 is a gated community, they are separated by Oak Beach park. Dr Charels Peter Hackett was featured in a segment of A&E The Killing Season: The Killing Season (2016) (TV Series) - Self - Former Head of Suffolk County Emergency Medical Services (1 episode, 2016) and Danse Macabre (Nov 19, 2016) Season 1, Episode 3 - Self - CPH Former Head of Suffolk County Emergency Medical Services (archive footage). James Burke was the subject of a 1995 Internal Affairs investigation that concluded allegations he “engaged in a personal, sexual relationship” with “a convicted felon known to be actively engaged in criminal conduct including the possession and sale of illegal drugs, prostitution and larceny,” “engaged in sexual acts in police vehicles while on duty and in uniform,” and “failed to safeguard his service weapon and other departmental property” were “substantiated,” according to its report.

EPILOGUE, OAK BEACH LONG ISLAND HOME TO SEX PARTIES AND SWINGERS AND FORMER TOP COP JAMES BURKE WAS RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF IT: In 2016, the former chief of the Suffolk County Police Department, James Burke, was convicted and given almost four years in federal prison for beating a suspect who stole his gun belt, a duffel bag full of sex toys and pornographic material, and other items from his SUV. Burke then convinced other officers to lie for him. A woman named Leanne, who said that she had worked as an escort in Suffolk County, then came forward and said that she had encountered James Burke at a party in the same general neighborhood where Shannan Gilbert had disappeared, just one year after Shannan had gone missing. Leanne said that Burke made her engage in rough sex prior to throwing $300 toward her at a Oak Beach West party. Burke had previously turned down further FBI assistance in the Long Island serial killer (LISK) investigation and it was becoming clear why. Either he didn't want the FBI to uncover his own corruption, or he didn't want them to connect him to the murders.

NYP Aug 23, 2023, Swingers and Sex Parties at Oak Beach West LI in 2010 Did Former Top Cop James Burke Know Escort Shannan Gilbert Before Her Murder. James Burke, the disgraced ex-Suffolk County police chief who was busted for allegedly soliciting sex in a Long Island park, exposed himself and began masturbating in front of a plainclothes male park ranger just before he was cuffed, according to an arrest report obtained by The Post. Burke — who botched the Gilgo Beach murders probe and served time in federal prison for beating a crook who stole his dildo and porn stash — was picked up around 10:15 a.m. Tuesday in the Suffolk County Vietnam Veterans Memorial Park in Farmingville. Between 2010 and 2011, police found at least 10 sets of human remains discarded along Long Island's South Shore. Top cop James Burke blocked federal authorities from assisting in the probe - which stalled for more than a decade - in what some claim was an attempt to conceal his own proclivities for hiring sex workers and consuming drugs at Oak Beach West Long Island sex parties.

NYP SEPT 10, 2023, Oak Beach Long Island swinger and sex parties orchestrated by former top cop James Burke are linked to unsolved murder of escort Shannan Gilbert in May 2010. It was all a coverup so as to not expose the rich Oak Beach West residents perverse sex lives. The woman, only identified as LeAnn, opened up about her “degrading” 2011 encounter with James Burke, 59, in a Sunday The Daily Mail interview — several years after she first went public with allegations she’d had “rough sex” with him. LeAnn, who said she was 25 at the time, claims the alleged ordeal unfolded at a home in the exclusive Oak Beach West community on Long Island back in August 2011 — just months before he was appointed as Suffolk County’s top cop. LeAnn had previously come forward in 2016 to allege that Burke — who allegedly obstructed the FBI from investigating the unsolved Gilgo Beach murders, had a history of engaging with sex workers and attending sex parties on Oak Beach West. LeAnn does not know who was hosting the Oak Beach West soiree, but claims Burke was there with another man who also held a prominent position in the county. She does not want to disclose his identity over concerns for her safety. Her attorney, John Ray, told The Mail that LeAnn’s initial claim was the first time it became known Burke was publicly linked to prostitution in the region. The veteran attorney explained that for years there have been talk of the drug-fueled wild parties taking place at the Oak Beach West community. 'These are not your normal people,' he said. 'There were sex parties, naked parties.' Attorney John Ray also represents the family of Shannan Gilbert.

UPDATE: During an appearance on Court TV on Wednesday night, Nov 8, 2023, Bob Macedonio hit out at Attorney John Ray and accused him of profiting off the case for more than a decade with unsubstantiated information and wild allegations. He also insisted that the wife Ellerup has not made any conclusions about her estranged husband's innocence or guilt and is waiting for the 60-year-old former architect rex Heuermannn to have his day in court. Rex Heuermann, meanwhile, remains in custody in New York. Suffolk County cops are now looking into possible links between Heuermann and Shannan Gilbert and Karen Vergata, following the new tips yielded by Attorney John Ray. After his press conference last month, Attorney John Ray shared two sworn witness statements with the media, detailing Heuermann's potential ties to the two women in full.
