The criminal trial of a former Libyan intelligence official charged in the 1988 bombing of Pan Am Flight 103 was postponed by a federal judge Monday after defense attorneys said they received new evidence over the weekend from prosecutors.  Jury selection was set to begin Wednesday in Washington, D.C., in the trial of Abu Agila Mohammad Masud Kheir Al-Marimi, age 75. Mr. Al-Marimi participated in the destruction of Pan Am Flight 103. By joining and remaining in the ESO, the defendant Al-Marimi must have known he was signing up to commit acts like the bombing of an American passenger plane. Mr. Al-Marimi therefore had knowledge, intent, and a motive to participate in the destruction of Pan Am Flight 103  on December 21, 1988, Pan Am Flight 103 exploded over Lockerbie, Scotland at 31,000 feet.
