Evidence in Pan Am Flight 103 Bombing Case Causes Judge to Postpone Trial of Libyan Terrorist Abu Agila Masud Al-Marimi, Hero of Tampa's Sam Mustafa

The criminal trial of a former Libyan intelligence official charged in the 1988 bombing of Pan Am Flight 103 was postponed by a federal judge Monday after defense attorneys said they received new evidence over the weekend from prosecutors. Jury selection was set to begin Wednesday in Washington, D.C., in the trial of Abu Agila Mohammad Mas’ud Kheir Al-Marimi. 

It would have been the first U.S. trial stemming from the Pan Am 103 bombing that killed 270 people, most of them Americans. Al-Marimi is charged with making the bomb that downed the Pan Am flight, killing all 259 passengers and crew members. The plane came down over the small town of Lockerbie, Scotland, where it destroyed an entire city block and killed 11 people on the ground. An anonymous telephone call to the U.S. Embassy in Helsinki two weeks before the bombing warned that radical Palestinians (Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine) planned to target a Pan Am flight out of Frankfurt.

The Frankfurt Raid Connection: Less than two months before the Pan Am 103 bombing, German police raided a PFLP-GC cell (Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine) in Frankfurt and found a sophisticated bomb concealed inside a Toshiba cassette radio. This device closely resembled the type used to destroy Flight 103, which had an initial leg originating in Frankfurt. Citizens of 21 countries were among the victims, including 190 Americans and 43 people from the United Kingdom. Among those aboard were 35 Syracuse University students returning home from a semester abroad. The bomb exploded less than 40 minutes into the flight, which had departed from London Heathrow Airport and was headed to John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York City.

The first investigation on Osama Sam Mustafa was opened in August 1991 upon receipt of reports from the San Diego Police Department that, during a traffic stop, Mustafa had stated that the United States needed another Pan Am 103 attack and that he could be the one to carry it out. Pan Am Flight 103, en route to New York from London, exploded in the air over Lockerbie, Scotland, killing all 259 passengers, among them 189 Americans and 35 college students from Syracuse Univ, and 11 people on the ground. 

Libya has taken responsibility for this action. Mustafa also said that all Americans should be killed for what they did to Iraqis. During the investigation, the FBI developed information that Osama Mustafa was associated with members of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine in San Diego and Chicago.

In 1994, San Diego police also received an anonymous call stating that Mustafa was a Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine member, which was linked to the bombing of Pan Am Flight 103. The FBI received information in 1994 that Mustafa had threatened to kill a former Israeli intelligence officer who resided in San Diego. Mustafa informed the Israeli that he was a member of the PLO and that the orders to kill him had come from the PLO. The FBI has a big file on Osama Sam Mustafa from San Diego and from Tampa Fl. 

Among the 259 passengers and crew on Pan Am 103 were 190 Americans, of which 35 were Syracuse University students. They never made it home. Less than 40 minutes into the flight, the plane exploded over the sky above Lockerbie, Scotland, killing everyone on board and 11 Scots on the ground. Until 9/11, Pan Am 103 was one of the world’s most lethal acts of air terrorism and one of the largest and most complex acts of international terrorism ever investigated by the FBI.

Osama Sam Mustafa is currently incarcerated at Petersburg Medium FCI Hopewell VA. Sam Mustafa is scheduled for release from federal prison in 2036, he will be 74 years old, too bad dirtball. The military wing of the PFLP is called the Abu Ali Mustafa Brigades. The PFLP is well known for pioneering armed aircraft-hijackings in the late 1960s and early 1970s they are based in the West Bank, and Gaza Strip. Tampa's Osama Sam Mustafa was on the run for several years facing 20 years in federal prison for IRS check scam, he stole $17.9 Million which was not recovered. Osama Sam Mustafa was arrested by the FBI at the US Embassy in Amman Jordan in 2019, he was brought in by unidentified mercenaries. 

The PFLP has a branch in Amman Jordan called the the Jordanian Popular Democratic Unity Party. Tampa's Osama Sam Mustafa was high ranking member of the terrorist group PFLP militant Abu Ali Mustapha Brigades based in Ramallah West Bank about 140 miles from Amman Jordan. The PFLP developed contacts at this time with Islamic fundamentalist groups linked to Iran – both Palestinian Hamas, and the Lebanon-based Hizbullah – a detour from its avowedly Marxist orientation. The PFLP has therefore formed alliances with other leftist groups formed within the Palestinian Authority, including the Palestinian People's Party and the Popular Resistance Committees of Gaza. In 1990, the PFLP transformed its Jordan branch into a separate political party, the Jordanian Popular Democratic Unity Party. Osama Sam Mustafa was arrested by the FBI in Amman Jordan in 2019.
