CAPTURED: US Marshals Fugitive Recovery Team Captured Kaitlin Armstrong in Costa Rica Last Seen At Newark Liberty International Airport EWR

UPDATE: Breaking 7/03/2022: Fugitive yoga teacher Kaitlin Armstrong has been captured in Costa Rica after 43 days on the run, she did fly out of Newark Airport back on May 18. Travis County TX court records show Kaitlin Armstrong’s bond will be set at $3.5 million.

Kaitlin Armstrong used her sister's passport to enter Costa Rica. The passport belonging to Christine Elizabeth Armstrong was found among the possessions of Kaitlin Armstrong at the hostel on Santa Teresa Beach in Provincia de Puntarenas where Kaitlin was staying. Austin-based Deputy Marshal Brandon Filla says "they are not ruling out others being charged" depending on where their investigation takes them. Kaitlin Armstrong fled to Costa Rica in an apparent attempt to carry out a double life under a false name and passport. Kaitlin Armstrong was posing as a woman named 'Ari' during her stay at Don Jon's Lodge in the small town of Santa Teresa, which is home to only 3,000 people.

Kaitlin has the same sandals on at Houston airport as when she was arrested in Costa Rica. “The U.S. Marshal’s (Gulf Task Force) picked her up at the airport, and they took her to the Harris County Jail, where she awaits transfer to Austin.” Kaitlin Armstrong is represented by trial attorneys Cofer & Connelly, a criminal defense law firm located in Austin. “Neither Kaitlin nor her attorneys will be making any statements to the media at this time. The U.S. Marshals Office of International Operations, Homeland Security Investigations, and the Department of State Diplomatic Security Service, working with authorities in Costa Rica, located and arrested Kaitlin Marie Armstrong on June 29 at a hostel on Santa Teresa Beach in Provincia de Puntarenas. 

Fugitive Kaitlin Armstrong had nose job, plastic surgery, she paid $6,350 to the AVA Surgical Center San Rafael, Costa Rica, which is a 5 hour drive from where she was staying. Kaitlin Armstrong, 34, used her sister's passport to get to Costa Rica. A witness to her arrest claims two passports were found amongst her belongings. One belonged to Kaitlin Armstrong and the other to her 31-year-old sister, Christine. Police confirmed she traveled to Costa Rica using an active, valid passport. Witnesses also say Armstrong got a nose job in Costa Rica and dyed her hair. During her arrest Kaitlin Armstrong sported short drown hair, more similar to the hairstyle depicted in Christine's passport photo.

The receipt for the facial plastic surgery of wanted fugitive Kaitlin M. Armstrong indicates the work was done at the AVA Surgical Center Address: WVH7+MH9, Carr. John F Kennedy, Maynard, San José, San Rafael, Costa Rica. Most likely the passport that was used for ID at the surgical center in San Rafael was the one issued to Christine Armstrong (the sister), she is so in on all this deception. 

The AVA Surgical Center in San Rafael where Kaitlin Armstrong had the procedure, (simulated photo above of aftermath of nose job) is a 5 hour, 110 mile trip (includes ferry boat trip) from where Kaitlin Armstrong was staying at the hostel on Santa Teresa Beach in Provincia de Puntarenas. So who drove Kaitlin Armstrong to and from the AVA surgical center in San Rafael, she certainly did not drive herself back after the procedure.  

Kaitlin Armstrong’s sister Christine could face charges if she had contacted and helped her during the 6 weeks she was on the run. Who helped Kaitlin Armstrong in NYC for 4 days, from May 14 to May 18, who dropped he off at Newark Airport EWR on May 18? Christine Armstrong aided her sister Kaitlin in fleeing from the USA.

Fugitive Kaitlin Armstrong's New York City connection from May 14th to May 18th was her sister Christine Armstrong, she gave Kaitlin her passport to use on flight from Newark to Cots Rica. The sister whom Kaitlin Armstrong visited before fleeing the country could be in big trouble, retired cop Lenny DePaul said he hopes for her sake she cooperated with authorities. 

Lenny DePaul is the retired former commander of the U.S. Marshals Service’s New York/New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force. Christine Armstrong could be charged for helping her sister Kaitlin, giving her passport to Kaitlin to use. "If not, she's facing significant time," he said. "They could certainly charge her with harboring a fugitive or aiding and abetting. It's a significant amount of time in a federal penitentiary, so I'm hoping she jumped onboard Team USA...[and] did the right thing." 

Federal authorities say they plan to return Kaitlin Armstrong to the United States to face charges of murder and unlawful flight to avoid prosecution. Authorities discovered that Kaitlin Armstrong, using a fraudulent passport, boarded United Airlines Flight 1222 from Newark International Airport on May 18 and arrived in San Jose, Costa Rica. Sources say she had undergone plastic surgery. US Marshals claim that Kaitlin Armstrong was last seen being dropped at Newark Liberty International Airport in NJ on May 18, the day after a warrant for her arrest was issued. On the run killer Kaitlin Armstrong did not take a flight on May 18 from Newark EWR to Livingston Manor NY! Kaitlin Armstrong fast-sold her black Jeep to CarMax for $12,200, the wholesale price, traveling money sorely needed. The most important thing a fugitive on the run needs is cash, you can't use credit cards or your personal cell phone registered to you.  Don't check in with your folks back home in Michigan or your sister in Livingston Manor NY from a burner phone, the US Marshals are watching their phone activity. Suspect Kaitlin Marie Armstrong, DOB November 21, 1987, she is 5' 8" and 125 lbs. Kaitlin, the US Marshals Service has a print out of every person you called on your cell phone for the last 90 days. Kaitlin, if you call anybody on that list from your new burner phone they will see that activity and track your burner phone with Stingray technology.

Kaitlin Armstrong, a 34-year-old Texas transplant, grew up in Livonia, Michigan, a suburb of Detroit. She attended Stevenson High School and graduated in 2005. The U.S. Marshals Lone Star Fugitive Task Force located the black Jeep Grand Cherokee believed to have been owned by homicide suspect Kaitlin Marie Armstrong in connection with the death of cyclist Moriah MO Wilson at a Carmax dealership by tracking the VIN. 

Investigators with the US Marshals task force learned that Armstrong sold the vehicle May 13 to a CarMax dealership in south Austin for $12,200 US dollars. Armstrong was provided a check from the CarMax dealership a day after being questioned by Austin authorities. She departed the Austin airport on May 14, according to an official statement for LaGuardia airport in NYC. On the run killer Kaitlin Armstrong spent 4 days in NYC, from May 14 to May 18 when she was last spotted at Newark Liberty International Airport EWR. Did Kaitlin Armstrong obtain a new identity in NYC. Kaitlin Armstrong needs a current valid drivers license and a passport if she is going to leave the USA on an international flight. Did Kaitlin Armstrong take an international flight out of Newark EWR on May 18th? Did Kaitlin Armstrong flee from Newark EWR to Cancun or Santo Domingo or Aruba or Montego Bay or Mexico City or Costa Rica or Montreal or Toronto or St George or San Juan or Ottawa? There are daily flights from Newark EWR to those international destinations.

Kaitlin Armstrong was questioned by police in connection with Wilson's death on May 12 and left town shortly afterward. The last known image of Kaitlin Armstrong was captured on surveillance inside New York City's LaGuardia airport on May 14. A camper at a remote wellness retreat in Livingston Manor, upstate New York, claimed to have seen Armstrong in the area just over a month ago (April) in an interview with Fox News. As previously reported by The US Sun, Armstrong's younger sister Christine works and lives at the Haven camp full-time, having recently relocated to New York from Austin. The U.S. Marshals are offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to Armstrong’s arrest after she allegedly gunned down Wilson at an apartment in Austin, Texas.

Kaitlin Armstrong was reported to have been spotted at the camp in April visiting her sister Christine Armstrong. The purpose of US Marshals Fugitive Regional Task Force is to combine the efforts of federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies to locate and apprehend the most dangerous fugitives and assist in high profile investigations. The United States Marshals Service currently leads 56 local fugitive task forces.
