After spending eight days and over 70 hours inside the Weakley County Courthouse, I was relieved that the trial was finally over. Was David Swift a man capable of murdering his wife in cold blood? Was there even enough time for him to premeditate and execute this murder in the time allotted? Was there time for him to murder Karen without a plan? This leaves a very small window for the murder, dumping of the body, staging of Karen’s vehicle and the tire, and the walk back from the vehicle to the residence, which has been inaccurately stated as 1/4-mile multiple times throughout the trial. I don’t think the timeline was realistic, and I don’t feel the evidence adequately supported the theory of her murder occurring in the garage with David’s foot as the final instrument of death. DYER COUNTY TN JUNE 2024: General Danny's end run around the current 8 year Statute of Limitations for Voluntary Manslaughter in TN by charging David Swift for the supposed crime in 2011 on Karen Swift, violates David Swift's 6th Amendment Right to a Speedy Trial for the same supposed crime. It looks like anything goes in Dyer County TN. US Constitution’s Sixth Amendment’s Right to Speedy Trial Clause: In 2011 in the State of Tennessee, the Statute of limitations on Voluntary Manslaughter was 4 years, David Swift left Tennessee in 2015. In 2016, the Tennessee Supreme Court specifically overruled its prior holding on ex post facto laws and held that “the ex post facto clause of the Tennessee Constitution has the same definition and scope as the federal ex post facto clause.” In other words, if a new Tennessee law were to extend a statute of limitation for a certain crime, it could now apply to both future crimes and also past crimes for which the statutes of limitation had not already expired. Past cases have considered how the US Constitution’s Due Process and Speedy Trial Clauses affect criminal statutes of limitations. Statutes of limitations apply to the time period before criminal proceedings are started while the right to a speedy trial applies to the length of time between the start of criminal proceedings and cases going to trial. The US Constitution’s Sixth Amendment’s Speedy Trial Clause provides that in all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial. On its face, the protection of the amendment is activated only when a criminal prosecution has begun and extends only to those persons who have been accused in the course of that prosecution.
Let’s look at this timeline provided by the court:
*2:08 a.m.: Karen comes home with Ashley
*3:45-4:30 a.m.: Internet activity on David’s laptop shows images were opened from an external device.
*Depending on whether you believe the expert witness of the Defense or of the State, the last cellular of Karen Swift activity was recorded at 4:38 a.m. (State expert’s opinion) or 5:09 a.m. (Defense expert’s opinion).
*5:15 a.m. the first sighting of the abandoned vehicle, people at the car by 5:30 a.m. This leaves a very small window (1 hour) for the murder, dumping of the body, staging of Karen’s vehicle and the tire on Millsfield Highway and the walk back from the vehicle to the Swift residence and do a professional crime scene cleanup with bleach, no trace of blood or body fluids. The distance has been inaccurately stated as 1/4-mile multiple times throughout the trial. In a conversation with District Attorney Danny Goodman, I was told the distance was roughly .43 miles. I
was hired in 2014 to investigate the unsolved murder of Karen Swift in
the small southern town of Dyersburg TN, and it has been 10 years of
hell with late night calls and hangups, fake negative reviews of my PI
business, threatening voice mails on by business cell phone and multiple
death threats! Just a little background on Dyersburg TN in the early
and late 20th century, Dyersburg in Dyer County TN was a hotbed of Klan
activity with County sanctioned murders and lynchings. Topix/Dyersburg
website was used to bash and intimidate anyone who spoke in any positive
way of David Swift. "Dec 18, 2011 Topix/Dyersburg TN, Karen Swift Murder.... Topix in Dyersburg is a cesspool and possibly a means of tainting the jury pool".
One thing I have learned in the last 10 years dealing with people
living in Dyersburg, Dyer County TN is that one guy, and one guy only,
pulls all the strings in Dyersburg. Money talks in Dyer County TN and
law and order takes a back seat.

"General" Danny Goodman Jr of Dyer County will move forward at trial to
convict David Swift of voluntary manslaughter on July 2nd, 2024 or so he
says. David Swift was Not Guilty of 1st or 2nd Degree Murder and Not Guilty of Attempted Murder of Karen Swift at trial on June 6th. Tennessee
Code § 39-13-211 defines voluntary manslaughter as the intentional or
knowing killing of a person in a state of passion due to adequate
provocation, there is an 8 year window from date of death to bring charges. The provocation must be such that it would lead a
reasonable person to act in an irrational manner. Because the person
kills in a heat of passion, the law views them as less culpable than
someone who commits first- or second-degree murder. Consequently,
voluntary manslaughter is a Class C Felony, and a person faces three to
20 years in prison if convicted, along with a fine. So now "General"
Goodman will prove, starting July 2nd, 2024, the state of mind of
David Swift on Oct 30th 2011 when Karen Swift disappeared, her body found Dec 11th, 2011, good luck. In Tennessee, the general statute of limitations for misdemeanors is one year for the D.A. to bring charges. See following for statutes of limitations for some specific felony offenses in Tennessee. To charge someone with Manslaughter, voluntary the D.A. has 8 years from date of death to file charges, see Tenn. Code § 40-2-101(b)(2) (2024).

After roughly 11 hours of deliberation, the court declared a mistrial in the case of the State of Tennessee vs. David Swift. The jury was hung on charges of voluntary manslaughter and could not reach a verdict. David Swift was found not guilty of charges including 1st-degree and 2nd-degree murder, and 1st and 2nd-degree attempted murder. Judge Mark Hayes declared a mistrial. Following adjournment, statements regarding the day’s court proceedings were issued by District Attorney "General" Danny Goodman and defense attorney Daniel Taylor. David Swift will now appear in Dyer County Circuit Court on July 2, at 9 a.m. for a hearing regarding his bond and future action and charges.

The Case So Far: By September 2011 in Dyer County Court, lawsuits were being filed by 4 different bank credit card companies issued in the name of Karen S. Swift (her name only) for a total of $7,200, all 4 credit cards had been charged off by the banks. Early A.M. Sunday October 30th, 2011, a pair of jeans and a grey zip-up top were found by the side of the road close to where Karen Swift's car was found abandoned a quarter of a mile from her home in Dyersburg, TN, her 'cat woman' costume was found in the car, was she sexually assaulted, what DNA was found, why were her clothes found all over the place by her abandoned SUV, why was her nude body found 42 days later in December, in the weeds next to Bledsoe Cemetery in an area that had been previously searched?

The attack was not premeditated but, rather, an act of extreme rage. The attacker approached the victim quickly, as indicated by the lack of defense wounds (e.g. fractures to hands and/or arms), and struck her with an item that was readily available (hammer, pistol whipping, ball bat). The victim fell, landing on her left side, causing her to have a remote broken rib. The victim was at the party with Bill and Cathy Bona, who are husband and wife and whom the victim was reportedly involved with sexually (swingers). The victim was, reportedly, wearing jeans and a jacket upon returning home from the party. The victim’s Halloween costume was found inside the vehicle on Oct 3oth, 2011.

Karen Swift's white 2004 Nissan Murano was later found abandoned on Sunday, Oct. 30, on Millsfield Highway near the intersection of Harness Road with a flat tire. The cell phone of the missing woman, who has blonde hair and green eyes, was also missing. Police said it was last used at about 5 am on Sunday when Mrs Swift accessed the internet on the device. Police were working with the phone company to pinpoint its last location. This investigation was active an ongoing. A friend of the missing woman,

in the car, the one she wore to the Dyer County Country Club (The Farm)
on Saturday October 29th. They confirmed [the clothing items] belong to
her. They took DNA from her mother and compared it to DNA on the
clothes.''Some other articles of clothing that belonged to her - a pair
of jeans and a gray zip-up - were found in some brush not far from her
car. One of the last places Karen Swift would have known to be alive or dead, would have been in the car she had been driving, the Sheriff released her car to the bank that owned it in June 2014. I am aware of a letter received from the Bank that held the loan on the white 2004 Nissan Murano SE 2WD with the VIN# JN8AZ08T64W219710 that Karen Swift was driving the morning she disappeared. The Bank forgave the debt in June 2014 so Mr. Swift will not be responsible for the balance, the Bank sent a Form 1099-C to the IRS so the debt will be taken off of Mr. Swift’s credit report. The white 2004 Nissan Murano SE 2WD was quickly resold in June 2014 by a used car dealer.

Karen Swift had very few household bills to pay, if any, and yet she was heavily in debt on at least 4 bank credit cards issued in HER NAME ONLY, in fact all 4 bank credit cards were maxed out and had been charged off and Karen Swift was being sued by all 4 of the credit card companies for a total of $7,200 by September 2011 in Dyer County Court, I saw the filings. Karen Swift had as many as 3 cell phones at a time, two were on her husbands account, not hers, one was pre-paid and untraceable given to her to keep in touch with her ‘new friends’, someone that she met on the internet. One of the other last places Karen Swift would have known to be alive or dead, would have been in the car she had been driving, the Sheriff released her car to the bank that owned it in June 2014. I would be concerned that Karen Swift’s vehicle was released to the Bank before anyone was indicted or arrested in her unsolved murder and rightly so.

Karen Swift spent hundreds of dollars on expensive cameras and digital video recording devices, for what use? Karen Swift was living the party life, just like the night she went to the The Farms Golf Club & Country Club Halloween Party as ‘Catwoman’ in a skintight black costume without her husband on Saturday October 29th, 2011 and stays until about 11:58 pm, early next morning Sunday October 30th, 2011 at about 5:00 am she is up and out of the Swift home and on the road to go to work, she ‘goes missing’ at 5:30 am and turns up dead, her body found dumped in the weeds near the access road to Bledsoe Cemetery and not 'found' until December 10th, 2011. Karen Swift may have just come between a Dyersburg married man and his wealthy family with a confrontation boiling over in the parking lot of The Farms Golf Club & Country Club in Dyersburg TN on Saturday October 29th unfortunately there are no security tapes to look at, who knows what happened, maybe we never will.

Mr. Swift had an interest in protecting himself and his family from private eye Chastity Brandon who was acting unlawfully and harassing him and his minor children. Further, as a victim of Ms. Chastity Brandon’s improper campaign and unsanctioned investigative tactics, which ran afoul of applicable professional regulations, see Ex. 1 p. 16–18 (recommending that Ms. Chastity Brandon’s license be voluntarily surrendered due to her misbehavior), Mr. David Swift acted in good faith to alert the appropriate regulatory authority that was empowered to take action. Put another way: Mr. David Swift filed a complaint in good faith in order to ensure that Ms. Chastity Brandon was held accountable for her professional misconduct, and upon review of that complaint by the regulatory authority that was responsible for licensing Ms. Chastity Brandon she was, license revoked.
Consequently, even if Mr. Darrell Sells could establish a prima facie case for defamation, Mr. David Swift’s statements to the Tennessee Private Investigation and Polygraph Commission were protected by the qualified common interest privilege, and the TPPA compels their dismissal as a result. since my friend, Jessica Nicole Lewis, was murdered in South Memphis in
2011. Jessica Lewis
was beautiful, her photo above on the left, blonde hair. She often
flat-ironed her shoulder-length, strawberry-blonde curls, and she had
style — her closet was full of body-hugging jeans and cute tops to adorn
her near-hourglass, athletic figure. Thirteen years of unanswered questions. Thirteen years knowing the
man who took her life was able to continue living his, freely and
without consequence. On February 20, 2011, Jessica’s body was found in Mt. Carmel Cemetery,
an old unkempt graveyard at Elvis Presley and Elliston, about three
miles north of Graceland and as many miles south of the Stax Museum of
American Soul Music. There was evidence of a struggle; she’d been
dragged through the grounds and shot in the head, the only clothing left
on her battered body was underwear (panties pulled down) and a single
sock. The murder weapon, a gun, is probably in a river somewhere, or sitting on a shelf said Sgt. Robert Wilkie of
the Memphis Police.

In
less than a month in early 2011, one man murdered three women and tried
to kill a fourth in South Memphis. He fired a single round into each
one of them, then left two of the bodies in Mt. Carmel Cemetery in South
Memphis. The final victim, and the only one to survive, was shot just
across the street from Mt. Carmel. He's never been caught. And as far as
police know, he hasn't killed since. 'There's four that I believe ...
are the work of the same (killer),' said Sgt. Robert Wilkie,
the Memphis Police Department homicide detective assigned to the cases.
'Two of them are actually linked by forensic evidence. The other two,
to make a total of four, because of the location and the types of
injuries, motive more than anything.' His crime spree began on Jan. 27,
2011.
