In June of 2014 I was hired by David Swift to look into the unsolved murder of his wife Karen Swift. Over the course of the next 6 months (through 2014) I obtained first hand information from David Swift about a swinger type relationship between Karen Swift and Cathy Bona & Bill Bona. I knew about the hot tub parties and Karen Swift nude in Cathy Bona's bed way back in 2014! I knew all about the 2 secret cell phones that Karen Swift had besides the one provided by her husband. Married couple Bill Bona and Cathy Bona were friends of Karen, whom she visited frequently, (almost daily). Cathy Bona testified both David and Karen attended a party where some people were wearing swimsuits, and some were not. Karen was not, she said. David Swift did not kill Karen Swift on Oct 30th, 2011, so who did, who was with her Oct 30th, 2011? In any murder investigation of a woman, cops always look first to the husband and if he is innocent then they move on to any known boyfriends that she was sexually involved with, this is 'COP-101'. Who was Karen Swift having sex with before she was murdered on Oct 30th, 2011? A friend of murdered Karen Swift, Laura Jane, told The Huffington Post: 'They found her Halloween costume in the car on Oct 30, 2011. 'Some other articles of clothing that belonged to Karen Swift - a pair of jeans and a gray zip-up - were found in some brush not far from her car that she had been wearing when she left her house around 5:00am. Karen Swift was found nude with her head bashed in on Dec 10th, 2011 near Bledsoe Cemetary in Dyersburg TN, this was a crime of passion.

It is a fact that murdered Karen Swift was at the 'Farms' Halloween party on the night of Oct 29th, 2011 with the “Bona Swinger Couple”, Karen Swift was their date. In the 'swinger' sex underworld it is usually you take what you get when hooking up with another couple, the good the bad and the ugly. As a private investigator for the last 29 years, I could write a book about the swinger sex underworld here in Florida. But the Bona's, (average looks at best) had hit a home run with the fit, beautiful, blonde, Karen Swift. The Bona's got the 'Queen of Hearts in Karen Swift' who comes with no male partner, unheard of! No way the Bona's were ever going to give up this deal. The Farms Halloween party on Oct 29th, 2011 was hosted by 15 to 20 different couples with lots of drinking.  Karen Swift left the Farms Halloween party with Bill and Kathy Bona around midnight the night of, Oct 29th, 2011, they all had been drinking, Karen was driving her SUV. The threesome went to McDonald's to get some french fries. They went through the McDonald's drive-thru and then Karen Swift followed Kathy and Bill Bona to their nearby house (3 min drive), most likely for sex. While at Bill and Kathy Bona's house Karen Swift gets a call from her daughter Ashley who decided that she wanted to go home from a girls party, this is about 1:00am or so on Oct 30th, 2011.

In the Dyer County sheriff interview recordings, David Swift discussed a party (there were several) at the Bona's where he found Karen Swift naked in bed with Cathy Bona. On another occasion, David Swift found Karen in the Bona home naked with nothing but a towel on, alone with Bill Bona, her benefactor. DCSO recorded interviews where David Swift spoke with deputies about the night of Karen Swift’s disappearance. The footage captured David Swift’s testimony to deputies of his late wife’s social activities, portraying her as a woman who engaged in risky behavior--excessive drinking and risky sexual innuendos, namely while in the company of the Bonas--Cathy and Bill--both of whom were reportedly "close friends' with Karen Swift. Bill Bona testified that he helped his "friend", Karen Swift, file for divorce, gave her money for a lawyer. The Bona's said they loaned Karen Swift $2,000 dollars and a spare cell phone so she could consult a lawyer (or maybe just them). Bill Bona told the court neither he nor his wife were friends with David Swift, who accused Bill Bona of inappropriate conduct his with Karen Swift (sexual relations). David Swift was acquitted of first- and second-degree murder in his wife's Oct 2011 death in June of 2024. MANSLAUGHTER CHARGE; David Swift is innocent, his daughter Ashley Swift said on Nov 1st 2024, and she believes her father David Swift is being falsely imprisoned by DA Goodman while awaiting a new trial in backwoods Dyersburg Dyer County TN.

This picture was taken at the home of David and Karen Swift in Dyersburg TN one night when David Swift was at work, he had requested no drinking in the house because of the kids. Photo was taken prior to Oct. 29th, 2011, there were at least 4 people in the house. David Swift told me his wife Karen was involved in sexual relations with Bill and Cathy Bono and another man who gave her a flip phone, part of that came out in David's murder trial concerning the hot tub parties. Everybody has a cover story for the morning of Oct 30th, 2011 and "I ain't lying' I don't lie Without an Alibi". I was hired by David Swift in June 2014 to investigate the murder of his wife, Karen Swift. David Swift is not guilty in the murder/death of Karen Swift. UPDATE: David Swift Manslaughter retrial set for May 7th, 2025, the trial to potentially be moved outside of Western District of Tennessee. The retrial of David Swift on charges of involuntary manslaughter will be held on May 7, 2025. “The appellate court did not wish to get involved with the case at this point to make a ruling on Mr Taylor's July 30, 2024 Motion to dismiss” and “does not typically favor appeals in criminal court.”

Back on Day 3 of David Swift murder trail Dresden TN on May 30th, 2024, up on the witness stand came the bizarre Cathy Bona a very good friend of murdered Karen Swift. Cathy Bona and her husband Bill have a hot tub at their house in Dyersburg TN, she is the the hot tub queen where Karen Swift was found to be naked by her husband David Swift several times. Cathy Bona is an Andie Macdowell wanna be right out of the Netflix movie 'The Maid'. Cathy Bona had all of Ms MacDowell's erratic, manic, bizarre movements from 'The Maid' movie down-pat. I'm big fan of Andie Macdowell's work but not the Cathy Bona show. 

On November 10th, 2011 Cathy Bona in Dyersburg TN claimed she did not know what to make of missing Karen Swift during an interview with TV station WMCTV. Cathy Bona Studied Psychology at UT Martin and Studied Psychology at University of Memphis, it shows, she lives in Dyersburg, TN. Cathy Bona testified for DA Goodman against defendant David Swift. Cathy Bona put on quite a Golden Globe award winning show making faces and playing to the cameras in the Weakley County court room, kinda looking foolish, she ain't no Andie MacDowell.

SEX, SEX and MORE SEX. DCSO footage captured David Swift’s testimony to deputies of his late wife’s social activities, portraying her as a person who engaged in risky behavior--excessive drinking and risky sexual innuendos, namely while in the company of the Bonas--Cathy and Bill--both of whom were reportedly very close friends with Karen Swift. In the recordings, David Swift discussed a party allegedly at the Bonas where he found Karen Swift naked in bed with Cathy Bona. He also provided testimony that his wife had shared a hot tub in the nude with others who were attending the hot tub party.

I believe that the so-called anonymous posters on Topix/Dyersburg TN were a coordinated effort by the actual people linked to the murder of Karen Swift to place all blame on David Swift. On March 20, 2012, online gossip was the subject of a story called "Innocent Man's Life Destroyed by Anonymous Topix Poster" on Good Morning America. One thing I have learned in the last 10 years dealing with people living in Dyersburg, Dyer County TN is that one guy, and one guy only, pulls all the strings in Dyersburg. Money talks in Dyer County TN and law and order takes a back seat. Topix Dyersburg is the reason Judge Mark Hayes granted a change of venue request for the trial against David Swift for the murder of Karen Swift. The trial, originally scheduled for January 2024 in Dyer County, will now start May 28, 2024, in Weakley County, about 50 miles northeast of Dyer.

They found Karen Swift's Halloween costume from the Farms Dyersburg Country Club party in her car on Sunday Oct 30th, 2011. Some articles of clothing that belonged to Karen Swift, a pair of jeans, a bra and a gray zip-up sweatshirt were found in some brush not far from her car. They confirmed [the clothing items] belong to her. They took DNA from her mother and compared it to DNA on the clothes," Swift's friend Laura Jane told The Huffington Post. When Karen Swift's body was found on Dec 10th, 2011 near the Bledsoe cemetery she was nude except for her panties pulled down below her knees. Who really killed Karen Swift? Who was Karen Swift having sex with before she was murdered?

UPDATE FRIDAY NOV 1ST, 2024...ABC 20/20 and NBC Dateline put a hot spotlight on Dyersburg TN and the Karen Swift unsolved murder and David Swift murder trial, where he was declared not guilty in the murder of his wife Karen. It all boils down to Dyer County TN DA Goodman and Dyer County Sheriff Box had no direct proof of any kind that David Swift murdered Karen Swift, final. Friday night NBC Dateline trotted out Memphis TN based exotic dancer turned podcaster/private eye Heather Cohen for some reason and gave her a platform to spew her take on the murder of Karen Swift, she had no proof of anything and appears she was just making stuff up. Memphis TN based podcaster/private eye Heather Cohen was not hired or paid by anyone linked to the murder of Karen Swift, which she admitted to on air.

Friday Nov 1st 2024 NBC Dateline interviewed podcaster/private eye Heather Cohen, (covered in tattoos), about the murder of Karen Swift and what she supposedly had found. Cohen got sued twice by one of her "suspects', Darrell Sells during her "investigation". Darrell & Dena Sells with Bentley Quertermous filed $3Mill lawsuit against PI Heather Cohen & Others for Malicious Prosecution Linked to Karen Swift Unsolved Murder. Pleading that “Heather M. Cohen alleged that Darrell Sells and members of his family were involved in the death of Karen Swift.” Ashley Swift the daughter of Karen and David Swift said of the Memphis TN based podcaster/private eye Heather Cohen that she is just looking for her "15 minutes of fame." 

NBC Dateline interviewed Darrell Sells and his family and they all claimed the Memphis TN based exotic dancer turned podcaster/private eye Heather Cohen was just making stuff up linking them to the murder of Karen Swift. Maybe Darrell Sells in Dyersburg TN will file another lawsuit on Memphis TN based podcaster/private eye Heather Cohen for her comments on NBC Dateline continuing to link Darrell Sells to the murder of Karen Swift? PI Heather Cohen's accusations that Darrell Sells or a member of his family links to the unsolved murder of Karen Swift on Oct 30th, 2011 are ridiculous and totally unfounded. The Memphis TN based podcaster/private eye Michelle Cohen certainly was not hired by David Swift or anybody else to investigate the unsolved murder of Karen Swift, I was in June 2014! This ain't a TV show Cohen, it's real life and death!

Dyer County Prosecutor DA Goodman claims in his opening statement at the David Swift murder trail, that David Swift on the morning of Oct 30th, 2011 went into the bedroom where his wife Karen was sleeping in their home, stripped her down to her panties and then dragged her to their garage where David Swift put Karen Swift down on the concrete floor and stomped on Karen Swift's head with such force that he cracked her skull in two places, there would have been blood spatter everywhere, there wasn't any. Medical examiner Dr. Marco Ross testified to ONE depressed skull fracture on the right side of her head, that he said killed Karen Swift, but said there was no way to determine the weapon. I suppose it could be from a hammer or a baseball bat or even from a possible pistol whipping as the weapon used to cause ONE depressed skull fracture (bones forced into the brain). Dr. Marco Ross also testified there was no way to determine if she'd been sexually assaulted, she was found nude with her panties pulled down below her knees, most likely she was, one last time. An autopsy report provided to Court TV said Karen Swift died from “blunt force injury of the head”, depressed fracture to the temporal bone on the right side of the head, the temporal bone is the hardest bone in the human body. The killer was a strong man, taller that Karen, with above average upper body strength, who fractured her skull with one blow. Most likely the killer is left handed as Karen's wound was on the right side of her head, David Swift is right handed if he had hit her the wound would be on the right side of her head. Karen Swift's killer had to be in good shape, strong upper body, strong legs and back to carry the lifeless body of Karen swift up the slight incline to the Kudzu field next to Bledsoe Cemetery were the body Karen was found in Dec 2011. David Swift was not in good shape in October, November, December 2011, with a torn meniscus in his knee and on crutches. I saw David Swifts Doctors report with follow up visits and the MRI disc. I had the same type injury and I can tell you from a first hand account that you sure as hell could not be carrying any lifeless body that weighed about 140 lbs up no hill, never happened! 

17-page autopsy revealed Karen Swift died from a hit to the right front side of her head causing a depressed fracture sending broken bones into her brain. Looks like a left hand perp hit her with a gun butt. A gun butt from a pistol whipping would definitely have caused a depressed fracture in the head of Karen Swift. I think that of all the suspected murder weapons, like a hammer or gulf club or baseball bat that have been bantered around by web-sleuths, bloggers, pod-casters and wanna be cops the most obvious weapon, that is prolific in the State of Tennessee, is a handgun a pistol or a revolver.

DA Danny Goodman claims David Swift stomped on the head of Karen Swift while she was lying on the concrete floor of their garage. BUT wouldn't they have been damage to both sides of Karen Swift's head and not just on the right side? The medical examiner testified in the David Swift murder trial, providing graphic details from Karen Swift's autopsy. The medical examiner stated that Karen Swift had a depressed fracture to the right side of her head that was the basic cause of death. He was unable to determine exactly what kind of weapon caused the head wound. Wounds were found on the right side of the head above the eye of Karen Swift. The human skull can withstand 6.5 GPa of pressure while oak holds up under 11 GPa. Frontal bone: this bone comprises the forehead and the upper orbit of the eye. It joins the parietal bones at the coronal suture. Two temporal bones: These bones are located at the sides and base of the skull, and they are the hardest bones in the body. A supposed murder weapon that caused the wound could be a hammer or a baseball bat or even from a possible pistol whipping. The killer of Karen Swift would have been most likely left handed if he used a weapon, David Swift is right handed.

UPDATE FROM 13 YEARS AGO: Unsolved Karen Swift Murder on Oct 30th, 2011 a Tale of Sex, Lies, Missing Video Tapes and Misbehaving Private Eyes in Dyersburg TN. On Tuesday, July 30, 2024, David Swift appeared before Judge Mark Hayes in Dyer County Circuit Court, represented by attorney Daniel Taylor in regards to unsolved murder of Karen Swift. The appearance marked Swift’s second since the June 6 mistrial. During Swift’s last appearance on July 12, Judge Hayes denied Atty. Taylor’s motion to dismiss a second indictment filed against Swift by District Attorney Danny Goodman on charges including aggravated assault and voluntary manslaughter. During the July 30, 2024 appearance, Atty. Taylor filed a motion for an interlocutory appeal from the Tennessee Court of Criminal Appeals. DA General Danny Goodman said he had no objection to Atty Taylor filing the motion for an interlocutory appeal, it was eventually denied.

The 3 Ring Dyer County Court Show Must Go On. DA General Danny's Persecution of David Swift in Dyersburg TN Continues as Atty Daniel Taylor's Motion to Dismiss Involuntary Manslaughter Charge Against David Swift Denied. On the other hand on the same day, the Involuntary Manslaughter charge against actor Alec Baldwin was dismissed in New Mexico. UPDATE JULY 12TH, 2024 STATE GAZETTE DYERSBURG TN WRITES: A retrial of David Swift may be in the future, as the Honorable Judge Mark Hayes has issued an order against the dismissal of the 2024 indictment on Swift. As of Friday, July 12, a motion to appeal the order has not been filed. Judge Hayes did order a dismissal of the 2022 indictment. During a hearing on Wednesday, July 3, David Swift’s attorney, Daniel Taylor, filed a motion asking the courts to dismiss the 2022 indictment against Swift, as well as the superseding indictment filed in 2024. Judge Hayes’s order was filed with the Dyer County Circuit Court on July 11. According to the order, the courts failed to locate a case “which contains all of the issues presented by the defense”. The order states that Swift will not be able to be tried on charges of 1st or 2nd-degree murder/attempted murder, as he has already been acquitted of those charges. As voluntary manslaughter and aggravated assault charges were not ruled on during the mistrial, double jeopardy does not apply. Since David Swift established residency outside of Tennessee during years ranging from 2014-2016, Judge Hayes ordered that the statute of limitations for voluntary manslaughter and aggravated assault are still valid. Dyer County Sheriff Jeff Box put on his "peaky blinders" and has stayed laser focused on David Swift as the one and only suspect in the unsolved murder of Karen Swift from day one!

This whole Dog and Pony show put on by Dyer County TN DA General Danny to convict David Swift of something, anything became fodder for true crime shows on network TV, with Dateline NBC and ABC 20/20 doing shows in November 2024. "Dog and pony show" is a colloquial term which has come to mean a highly promoted, often over-staged performance, presentation, or event designed to sway or convince a jury or for political gain. DA General Danny's antics made good copy for the gossip columnists, podcasts and bloggers from Memphis TN to Dyersburg TN, where's Topix when you need it, LOL. David Swift is wrongly accused of murder of wife Karen Swift. In America everyone is PRESUMED INNOCENT of a crime until proven Guilty in a Court of Law however in Dyersburg, Dyer County TN you are presumed Guilty by the Court of Public Opinion until proven innocent no matter how many trials you have to endure.

David Swift was indicted on a charge of premeditated first-degree murder in Aug 2022, 11 years after his wife Karen Swift disappeared on October 30th, 2011. Dyer County D.A. Goodman put on a 'Gossip' trial and failed miserably in trying to convict David Swift from Dyersburg TN in the premeditated first-degree murder of wife Karen Swift, never happened.

Prosecutor Goodman prefaced his damming opening statement about David Swift stomping on the head of Karen Swift by admitting there was no trace of DNA or Blood or Fluids belonging to Karen Swift found in, or, on the concrete floor of the garage and no DNA or Blood or any Body Fluids were found in her car that was supposedly used to transport her lifeless body to Bledsoe cemetery, just gossip. DA Goodman also admitted he had no murder weapon, no true crime scene and no eyeball witness to any of the things he claims David Swift did on the morning of Oct 11, 2011, just gossip. WOW talk about an oxymoron type of opening statement from the DA. He killed her, crushed her skull, she was naked but No Blood or DNA or Body Fluids were found on the concrete floor of the garage or in Karen Swift's car and nobody saw anything? This would have been two extremely messy crimes to clean up (garage and car). Newsflash for Mr. D.A., when humans die from severe head trauma such as a crushed skull, there is massive blood loss and body fluids (urine) will leak out. Clear fluid (Cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) is a clear, colorless fluid that surrounds and protects the brain and spinal cord) will also leak from your nose or ears. And there was no trace of any of blood or body fluids or DNA found on the Swift's garage or in Swift's car after at least 3 search warrants executed by law enforcement including TBI. So why are we here at this Kangaroo Court Spectacle in Dresden TN based on local gossip?

Killer appears to be left handed, as Karen Swift appears to have been facing killer when hit and blow went to right side of her head on Oct 30th 2011. David Swift is right handed as seen taking notes during his murder trial in Weakley County TN during the last 4 days. If it don't fit you can't convict. Mike Smith the former publisher of State Gazette Newspaper in Dyersburg TN published a very negative op-ed piece on David Swift in Oct 2020 and favorably spoke of an local individual who rumors had linked him to Karen Swift. Though district attorney Goodman has the case before him, in order to charge someone for the murder, there has to be enough evidence to present to the grand jury to obtain an indictment. Goodman and staff get one chance at this, so everyone should completely understand the delay in charging a suspect. As one of the only people to ever interview David Swift, the husband of Karen, it’s time to share a few thoughts regarding the case, without damaging the investigation in any way, shape, or form. Three years after the murder, David Swift agreed to sit down with me for an interview. I felt I was thoroughly prepared with a number of questions, so I traveled to Arkansas to meet him at a location he approved of for the interview. Prior to the interview, I had never met Swift. We had lunch and I began to ask questions, lots of them. The thing I was most interested in was the night Karen went missing, and it was something Swift did not want to discuss. To this day it is something I still don’t understand, and I’ll explain why. If it was my wife and I had nothing to do with it, I would have been at the sheriff’s office every day wanting to know the progress regarding my wife’s murder. Not just every now and then, but every single day Sheriff Jeff Box would have had to see my face and deal with me on the progress of the investigation. Understanding in most cases such as this the first one looked at is the husband, I would have done whatever necessary to rule myself out of the crime, again, if indeed I had nothing to do with it. I wouldn’t need a lawyer because I hadn’t done anything wrong. I would have agreed to take a polygraph or anything else law enforcement needed me to do to rule me out as a suspect, David Swift did not.

Pancake screws are distinguished by their round, low-profile heads, which make them the ideal choice for fastening panel clips to wood in barns, along with many other applications, like building carports and working on roofing projects. All radial tires are self sealing to some extant they will seal around the shank of a screw or a nail, like in actual photo above from the tire that went flat on Karen Swift's car. Such a condition will result in a slow leak for days if not weeks. Nails and screws should be left in until you get the tire replaced, they act like a plug keeping the air in the tire.

(WMC) - SEARCH WARRANT SERVED NO MURDER WEAPON FOUND: The investigation of the 2011 murder of a Dyersburg woman continues as TBI agents were asked to assist Dyer County Sheriff’s Department in a search at the victim’s former home Tuesday. An Action News 5 viewer captured photos Tuesday of what appears to be digging equipment. Dyer County Sheriff Jeff Box tells Action News 5 an investigation is ongoing at 65 Willie Johnson Road, the former home of Karen Swift who was reported missing on Halloween in 2011 just weeks after filing for divorce.

The State of TN initially had 45 witnesses, however, a ruling by Judge Mark Hayes to stop any further cumulative evidence caused nine witnesses to be cut from the list, why? Then came 3-hour-long testimony of TBI Special Agent Joel Wade. When taking the stand, Wade’s testimony was first heard outside of the presence of the jury to establish admissibility. He presented an electric footprint linking 280 instances where websites including Tinder, Match.com, Media Match Web Girls, and Adult Friend Finder were accessed by an individual operating under David Swift’s username and password. It was noted that no other users were associated with the laptop in question. David Swift’s attorney, Daniel Taylor, objected to the admission of the documents arguing that anyone with David Swift’s login credentials could have accessed the websites. With the first date of access being October 31, 2011, one day following Karen Swift’s disappearance, Judge Mark Hayes, said the websites could also raise questions about whether David Swift was searching the websites to see if his wife had any online aliases or accounts with the websites that he might use to locate her with. Because of this, Judge Hayes said the internet search evidence could confuse the jury, and deemed it inadmissible.

At the Tennessee Private Investigations and Polygraph Commission Meeting of 10/15/2020 concerning the actions of Private Eye Chastity Nicole Brandon one of the board members, Jesse Gentry Assistant General Counsel, read the legal report on Private Eye Chastity Nicole Brandon who had refused to cooperate with the investigation. According to Jesse Gentry Assistant General Counsel, Chastity Brandon committed a 'laundry list' of violations including operating a Private Detective Agency without a license. Jesse Gentry went on to list multiple violations committed by Chastity Brandon using a Facebook Page called 'Cobra Justice' posting unsubstantiated articles. Jesse Gentry made note of several prior arrests of Chastity Brandon and indicated she had used multiple 'dates of birth' and multiple 'social security numbers'. The Commission voted unanimously to pursue formal charges and agreed to voluntary revocation of private investigator license of Chastity Nicole Brandon in Dyersburg TN. In 2021 Darrell Sells filed a Lawsuit on David Swift and others for Defamation relating to a complaint David Swift filed with the Tennessee Private Investigation and Polygraph Commission about private eye Chastity Brandon. Mr. David Swift had an interest in protecting himself and his family from private investigator July 30, 2024 who was acting unlawfully and harassing him and his minor children. Further, as a victim of Ms. Chastity Brandon’s improper campaign and unsanctioned investigative tactics, which ran afoul of applicable professional regulations, see Ex. 1 p. 16–18 recommending that Ms. Chastity Brandon’s license be voluntarily surrendered, revoked due to her misbehavior, Mr. David Swift acted in good faith to alert the appropriate regulatory authority that was empowered to take action. Put another way: Mr. Swift filed a complaint in good faith in order to ensure that Ms. Chastity Brandon was held accountable for her professional misconduct, and upon review of that complaint by the regulatory authority that was responsible for licensing Ms. Chastity Brandon, she was. Consequently, even if Mr. Darrell Sells could establish a prima facie case for defamation, Mr. David Swift’s statements to the Tennessee Private Investigation and Polygraph Commission were protected by the qualified common interest privilege, and the TPPA compels their dismissal as a result. The respondent Chastity Brandon is subject to discipline for failure to cooperate with our investigation. The respondent also appears to be subject to discipline for running an investigation company without licensure for that company, for making public statements that are not completely truthful, and revealing information for a client obtained in an investigation for another client. Therefore the recommendation would be to authorize formal charges, and offer to settle this matter with voluntary license revocation of Chastity Brandon.

I asked her if an older man was there as he had just called me on this line 731-285-0998, she said that would be Mr. Sells and she went and got him. Darrell Sells picked up the phone and another violent outburst came out of his mouth, I hung up again. I do not have any business interaction with Darrell Sells in Dyersburg TN. VELEZ-MITCHELL: Good evening, I`m Jane Velez-Mitchell coming to you live from New York City. Now, Karen Swift vanished six weeks ago after returning from a Halloween party after midnight. Her car was found later with a flat or slashed tire, depending on who you talk to, along a main highway less than a mile from her home. Karen had just filed for divorce three weeks earlier, and she was still living with her estranged husband. Police have not named David Swift a suspect. But when a woman vanishes right after filing for divorce, police normally try to rule the husband out first. Shortly after Karen vanished, their son insisted his dad had absolutely nothing to do with his mom's disappearance.

VELEZ-MITCHELL: Right. And we are -- again, Karen`s husband is not considered a suspect. And we`re going to read his statement in a second. But if we don`t get to examine these situations and learn something from them, hypothetically, then we really are doing the viewers a disservice. And I think it would be fair -- you`re an expert -- to say, "Hey, unless absolutely there`s no other alternative, don`t live with your husband during the divorce. Not a good idea." Now I want to go to Bill Warner, who`s a private investigator, who has a totally different theory on this case, one that has actually nothing to do with any family member. Bill Warner, you find it very significant that Karen`s body was found near a cemetery. Why is that?

BILL WARNER, PRIVATE INVESTIGATOR (via phone): Well it wasn`t found near. It was found next to. There`s a little dirt road off of this Harness Road that leads up to the Bledsoe Cemetery. The little dirt road separates where the body was found and where the headstones are. It`s within 30, 40 feet.

BILL WARNER: ... Harness Road. (UNINTELLIGIBLE) The problem I have, is that I was aware earlier in the year in -- from January through March 2011, that there was a supposed serial killer in the Memphis Tennessee area who killed four women and dumped in or near their bodies in a cemetery in Memphis, Tennessee, the Mount Carmel Cemetery. I find this a little disturbing, being only maybe an hour and a half way from Dyersburg Tennessee. As far as my involvement is all of these missing blond look-a-like female cases goes, I work alone, my theories are my own and I do not consult with anyone before I published my articles which have been featured in numerous newspapers online. I first spoke publicly about five missing petite blond females on CNN Headline News back on Friday Nov. 18th, 2011 and at that time it included Karen Swift before it became known she had been murdered.  

11 years later on Aug 8, 2022 — A Dyer County grand jury indicted David Swift Monday afternoon on a charge of pre-meditated first-degree murder in the death of his wife Karen Swift.
