The 3 Ring Dyer County Court Show Must Go On. DA General Danny's Persecution of David Swift in Dyersburg TN Continues as Atty Daniel Taylor's Motion to Dismiss Involuntary Manslaughter Charge Against David Swift Denied. On the other hand on the same day, the Involuntary Manslaughter charge against actor Alec Baldwin dismissed in New Mexico. UPDATE JULY 12TH, 2024 STATE GAZETTE DYERSBURG TN WRITES: A retrial of David Swift may be in the future, as the Honorable Judge Mark Hayes has issued an order against the dismissal of the 2024 indictment on Swift. As of Friday, July 12, a motion to appeal the order has not been filed. Judge Hayes did order a dismissal of the 2022 indictment. During a hearing on Wednesday, July 3, David Swift’s attorney, Daniel Taylor, filed a motion asking the courts to dismiss the 2022 indictment against Swift, as well as the superseding indictment filed in 2024. Judge Hayes’s order was filed with the Dyer County Circuit Court on July 11. According to the order, the courts failed to locate a case “which contains all of the issues presented by the defense”. The order states that Swift will not be able to be tried on charges of 1st or 2nd-degree murder/attempted murder, as he has already been acquitted of those charges. As voluntary manslaughter and aggravated assault charges were not ruled on during the mistrial, double jeopardy does not apply. Since Swift established residency outside of Tennessee during years ranging from 2014-2016, Judge Hayes ordered that the statute of limitations for voluntary manslaughter and aggravated assault are still valid.

UPDATE July 3rd 2024, David Swift Voluntary Manslaughter Hearing Dyersburg TN, What initially began as a bond hearing for defendant David Swift turned into an appeal for dismissal hearing following various motions submitted to the courts by David Swift’s attorney Daniel Taylor. General Danny says he is ready to move forward with a retrial. David Swift's defense presents motion to dismiss, arguing statute of limitations expired prior to indictment. Swift was acquitted on murder and attempted murder charges in wife's death, but jurors were deadlocked on voluntary manslaughter. Judge Mark Hayes announced that he would be taking time to consider both positions. Hayes set the next appearance of Swift for July 30, at 1 p.m. in Dyer County Circuit Court.
Apparently there was an outburst in the Dyer County courthouse this afternoon, July2nd, 2024, when an older white man caused a commotion in the courtroom. Court officers that witnessed it walked him out to his car/truck. Apparently this older white man verbally attacked the Swift children who were in attendance at their father's Hearing.

May 28th, 2024 Prosecutor Goodman claims in his opening statement Tuesday, that David Swift on the morning of Oct 30th, 2011 went into the bedroom where his wife was sleeping in their home, stripped her down to her panties and then dragged her to their garage where David Swift put Karen Swift down on the concrete floor and stomped on Karen Swift's head with such force that he cracked her skull in two places, causing depressed skull fractures to the temporal bone on the right side of the head, the the hardest bone in the human body, there would have been blood spatter everywhere. No blood spatter was ever found, because it NEVER HAPPENED!
David Swift then, on the morning of Oct 30th, 2011, supposedly put the lifeless, naked body of Karen Swift (blood all over her head) into her car and drove her to Bledsoe Cemetery and placed her in some kudzu weeds where she was found 40 days later. Prosecutor Goodman prefaced his damming opening statement about David Swift stomping on the head of Karen Swift by admitting there was no trace of DNA or Blood or Fluids belonging to Karen Swift found in, or, on the concrete floor of the garage and no DNA or Blood or any Body Fluids were found in her car that was supposedly used to transport her lifeless body to Bledsoe cemetery, just gossip. DA Goodman also admitted he had no murder weapon,no true crime scene and no eyeball witness to any of the things he claims David Swift did on the morning of Oct 11, 2011, just gossip. WOW talk about an oxymoron type of opening statement from the DA. He killed her, crushed her skull, she was naked but No Blood or DNA or Body Fluids were found on the concrete floor of the garage or in Karen Swift's car and nobody saw anything? This would have been two extremely messy crimes to clean up (garage and car). Newsflash for Mr. D.A., when humans die from severe head trauma such as a crushed skull, there is massive blood loss and body fluids (urine) will leak out. Clear fluid (cerebrospinal fluid) will also leak from your nose or ears. And there was no trace of any of blood or body fluids or DNA found on the Swift's garage or in Swift's car after at least 3 search warrants executed by law enforcement including TBI. So why are we here at this Kangaroo Court Spectacle in Dresden TN based on local gossip?

Jason Goslee, Trooper Jason Page, DCSO Retired Sgt. Heath Walker, and former DCSO deputy Brandon Alexander and almost everyone can't recall? Two articles of evidence submitted to the jury during McCreight’s three-hour-long testimony included DCSO recorded interviews where David Swift spoke with deputies about the night of Karen Swift’s disappearance. The footage captured David Swift’s testimony to deputies of his late wife’s social activities, portraying her as a woman who engaged in risky behavior--excessive drinking and risky sexual innuendos, namely while in the company of the Bonas--Cathy and Bill--both of whom were reportedly close friends with Karen Swift. In the recordings, David Swift discussed a party allegedly at the Bonas where he found Karen Swift naked in bed with Cathy Bona. He also provided testimony that his wife had shared a hot tub in the nude with others who were attending the party.

When asked about the hot tub party, Lee said she "did not recall" anyone wearing only their underwear in the hot tub, however, in a statement she made to DCSO law enforcement Nov 3rd 2011-12, Shannon Lee stated couples were in their underwear in the hot tub. Noted by Defense Attorney Daniel Taylor, Shannon Lee stated that Karen Swift had taken off her bra and thrown it during the night in question. Shannon Lee says that while she cannot dispute her recollection of the events from that time, she does not have those recollections now. Wow, kangaroo court is now in session, amnesia victim after amnesia victim on the stand. Shannon Lee, another amnesia victim on the witness stand, I don't recall, I can't recall, I don't remember, they were all coached very well by the DA's office. All the witnesses swore an oath to tell the truth, if found lying they could be charged with perjury hence the answers by almost all witnesses at this Kangaroo Court Spectacle in Dresden TN, "I don't recall, I can't recall, I don't remember", LOL!
Day 3 David Swift murder trail Dresden TN. May 30th, 2024 up on the witness stand came the bizarre Cathy Bona a supposed good friend of murdered Karen Swift. Cathy Bona and her husband Bill have a hot tub at their house in Dyersburg TN, she is the the hot tub queen where Karen Swift was found to be naked by her husband David Swift several times. Cathy Bona is an Andie Macdowell wanna be right out of the Netflix movie 'The Maid'. Cathy Bona had all of Ms MacDowell's erratic, manic, bizarre movements from 'The Maid' movie down-pat. I'm big fan of Andie Macdowell's work but not the Cathy Bona show.

Medical examiner Dr. Marco Ross testified to a depressed skull fracture on the right side of her head, that he said killed Karen Swift in the David Swift murder trial, but said there was no way to determine the weapon. I suppose it could be from a hammer or a baseball bat or even from a possible pistol whipping as the weapon to cause a depressed skull fracture (bones forced into the brain). Dr. Marco Ross also testified there was no way to determine if she'd been sexually assaulted, she was found nude with her panties pulled down below her knees. An autopsy report provided to Court TV said Karen Swift died from “blunt force injury of the head”, depressed fracture to the temporal bone on the right side of the head, the the hardest bone in the human body.
Local 24 News obtained the autopsy from Burton Staggs, a journalist at the Tennessee River Valley News, a digital news organization in Wayne County. The 17-page autopsy revealed that Karen died from a hit to the front of her head, likely with a hammer. Killer appears to be left handed, as Karen Swift appears to have been facing killer when hit and blow went to right side of her head. There were no defensive wounds. Burton Staggs said the Tennessee State Medical Examiner’s Office sent Burton Staggs the autopsy report shortly after he requested it. “I look at it as we’re digging into this case to find the truth and to hopefully find justice for Karen Swift,” Burton Staggs said. “I hope it’ll keep this case in the public eye in the interest of justice.” The 17-page report shows Karen Swift died of blunt force trauma to the head after being hit, possibly with a hammer. Local 24’s Tish Clark left a message for the medical examiner to find out why supposed sealed autopsy results were sent to a journalist. Should Burton Staggs have been arrested for releasing the 17 page autopsy of murdered Karen Swift before anyone was arrested, he is not law enforcement. Why wasn't Burton Staggs, a journalist, arrested for revealing the autopsy report of Karen Swift while the murder investigation was ongoing?

At a meeting in December 2014 in Arkansas David Swift told Mike Smith the former publisher for the Dyersburg State Gazette newspaper that he had hired a private investigator. So what? During testimony May 31st, 2024 Mike Smith the former publisher of State Gazette Newspaper in Dyersburg TN, he told DA Goodman that David Swift had hired a private investigator in 2014. NEWS Dyersburg State Gazett; David Swift breaks his silence Friday, October 31, 2014 story by MIKE SMITH, It was years ago when 44-year-old Karen Swift, mother of four, went missing. Though an extensive investigation immediately followed Swift's disappearance concerning her whereabouts, it was nearly six weeks later before her body was found near Bledsoe Cemetery in Dyer County. Karen Swift filed for divorce on Oct.10, three weeks prior to her disappearance, but continued to live at the residence with her husband, David Swift, on Willie Johnson Road until she disappeared. Though investigators with the Dyer County Sheriff's Office have spent the last three years gathering evidence, as of today no charges have been filed in the case. No suspects or persons of interest have been named, and the case is yet to be turned over to the district attorney in order for a decision to be made as to whether there is enough evidence to charge and prosecute someone involving Swift's murder. During the last three years, Swift's husband has remained silent concerning the circumstances surrounding his wife's death, until now.

Mike Smith the former publisher of State Gazette Newspaper in Dyersburg TN published a very negative op-ed piece on David Swift in Oct 2020 and favorably spoke of an local individual who rumors had linked him to Karen Swift. Though district attorney Goodman has the case before him, in order to charge someone for the murder, there has to be enough evidence to present to the grand jury to obtain an indictment. Goodman and staff get one chance at this, so everyone should completely understand the delay in charging a suspect. As one of the only people to ever interview David Swift, the husband of Karen, it’s time to share a few thoughts regarding the case, without damaging the investigation in any way, shape, or form. Three years after the murder, David Swift agreed to sit down with me for an interview. I felt I was thoroughly prepared with a number of questions, so I traveled to Arkansas to meet him at a location he approved of for the interview. Prior to the interview, I had never met Swift. We had lunch and I began to ask questions, lots of them. The thing I was most interested in was the night Karen went missing, and it was something Swift did not want to discuss. To this day it is something I still don’t understand, and I’ll explain why. If it was my wife and I had nothing to do with it, I would have been at the sheriff’s office every day wanting to know the progress regarding my wife’s murder. Not just every now and then, but every single day Sheriff Jeff Box would have had to see my face and deal with me on the progress of the investigation. Understanding in most cases such as this the first one looked at is the husband, I would have done whatever necessary to rule myself out of the crime, again, if indeed I had nothing to do with it. I wouldn’t need a lawyer because I hadn’t done anything wrong. I would have agreed to take a polygraph or anything else law enforcement needed me to do to rule me out as a suspect, David Swift did not.

Karen Swift's 2004 Nissan Murano SUV had P235/65R18 radial tires. The screw found in the tire of Karen Swift's car appears to be a rusty #10 pancake head metal-to-wood screw zinc plated. Pancake screws are distinguished by their round, low-profile heads, which make them the ideal choice for fastening panel clips to wood in barns, along with many other applications, like building carports and working on roofing projects. All radial tires are self sealing to some extant they will seal around the shank of a screw or a nail, like in actual photo above from the tire that went flat on Karen Swift's car. Such a condition will result in a slow leak for days if not weeks. Nails and screws should be left in until you get the tire replaced, they act like a plug keeping the air in the tire.

The David Swift murder trail in backwoods Dresden, Weakley County TN reminds me of the comedy/mystery Movie: My Cousin Vinny, another kangaroo court spectacle. It had all the elements, a backwoods sheriff trying to railroad two innocent 'yutes' of a murder at a convenience store that they did not commit along with two bumbling, fumbling lawyers. David Swift is charged with premeditated first degree murder in the October 2011 killing of his wife, Karen Swift in Dyersburg TN. The Swifts were residents of Dyer County. Karen was reported missing on October 30, 2011 — approximately three weeks after she had filed for divorce from David. The body of Karen Swift was later discovered in December that year by hunters near a cemetery in Dyersburg. David Swift was arrested and indicted for the murder in August 2022 — more than a decade later — and has plead not guilty. According to the indictment, Sells and Chastity Brandon between April 15, 2020 and February 16, 2021, “unlawfully, knowingly or intentionally took willful course of conduct involving repeated or continued harassment of [victim] by electronic communication that would cause a reasonable person to feel terrorized, frightened, intimidated, threatened, harassed, or molested, in violation of TCA 39-17-315.” CHARGES LATER DROPPED. Previously: Back on May 1, 2015, Threatening Call Today From 731-285-0998 Dyersburg TN, Caller Was Darrell Sells From His McDonald's Store, Something About Murdered Karen Swift, WTH? I have no knowledge as to who murdered Karen Swift. The caller was an older man from his voice, late 60's early 70's, it appears to be Darrell Sells who was about 75 years old in 2015. Mr Darrell Sells went off the chain the minute I identified myself at 3:08 pm today, May 1, 2015, calling me a blank, blank, blank, blank, and that he was going to get me and cause physical harm, I hung up. I called back the number on caller ID 731-285-0998 Dyersburg TN to determine who called and a young woman answered "McDonald's". I asked her if an older man was there as he had just called me on this line 731-285-0998, she said that would be Mr. Sells and she went and got him. Darrell Sells picked up the phone and another violent outburst came out of his mouth, I hung up again. I do not have any business interaction with Darrell Sells in Dyersburg TN. I do not know the man, nor do I want to. I have never mentioned the name Darrell Sells on my website, till today May 1, 2015, so why is he calling and threatening me? Posting threats to kill or injure another using interstate communications (phone) could land you in jail for up to five years.
UPDATE Dec 6th 2023, Change of Venue: apparently the trial Darrell Sells, 85, has been talking about in his phone message to me is the trial of David Swift in Dyer County TN for murder. Just recently the trial has been postponed and the venue changed to the Weakley County Courthouse in Dresden TN to start May 28th, very odd just 30 days prior to the start of a murder trial. DYERSBURG STATE GAZETTE WRITES: The trial for David Swift, 55, has been moved to a later date. Swift’s trial was initially scheduled for January 2024, Dyer County District Attorney General Danny Goodman has confirmed the trial has been moved to start date of May 28th, 2024. Additionally, the venue of the trial has been moved to Dresden, Weakley County TN. Jeff Parham was elected Weakley County Circuit Court Judge on August 7, 2014. David Swift’s attorney, Daniel Taylor, initially expressed concerns about Swift receiving a fair trial in corrupt Dyersburg, Dyer County TN.
NOTE* A deep dive into the history of how the Criminal Justice System works in Dyersburg, Dyer County TN and Dresden, Weakley County TN reveals some very disturbing results. In 1917 if you were convicted of murder in Dyersburg, Dyer County TN you could/would have been tortured and burned to death at an iron stake near the Dyer County Courthouse in Dyersburg, TN. At least nine men had been lynched by 'Organized Vigilance Committees' (code for KKK) in the small rural county of Dyer County TN for offenses ranging from horse theft to murder. In 1835, a "Organized Vigilance Committee" in Nashville, Tennessee was responsible, after a kangaroo court "conviction", for the public whipping of Rev. Amos Dresser (a white man) for the crime of distributing abolitionist publications (which he claimed he did not do). The names of all 62 members of the self-appointed vigilance committee were published by the American Anti-Slavery Society, annotating some as "Elder in the Presbyterian Church" and the like.

Brownlow called for an extra session of the legislature which, following the investigation of a Ku Klux Klan committee, reestablished the militia and gave him the power to declare martial law in any county necessary. Members of the Klan and other secret societies engaged in terrorism were subject to arrest by any citizen, a five-hundred-dollar fine, and imprisonment for up to five years under a so-called Ku Klux Klan Act. Gov. Brownlow, who wished to see prominent KKK leaders and ex-Confederates tried and convicted in order to make examples of them, employed a Cincinnati private detective, Seymour Barmore, to infiltrate the Klan and gather names.
13 years ago Karen Swift was reported missing on Oct. 30, 2011, (murdered same day). 13 years ago was my first public mention of, at the time, missing Karen Swift from Dyersburg TN was on a True Crime Series called ‘GONE’ on CNN HLN TV on Nov 18, 2011. VELEZ-MITCHELL: Good evening, I`m Jane Velez-Mitchell coming to you live from New York City. Now, Karen Swift vanished six weeks ago after returning from a Halloween party after midnight. Her car was found later with a flat or slashed tire, depending on who you talk to, along a main highway less than a mile from her home. Karen had just filed for divorce three weeks earlier, and she was still living with her estranged husband. Police have not named David Swift a suspect. But when a woman vanishes right after filing for divorce, police normally try to rule the husband out first. Shortly after Karen vanished, their son insisted his dad had absolutely nothing to do with his mom's disappearance.
VELEZ-MITCHELL: Right. And we are -- again, Karen`s husband is not considered a suspect. And we`re going to read his statement in a second. But if we don`t get to examine these situations and learn something from them, hypothetically, then we really are doing the viewers a disservice. And I think it would be fair -- you`re an expert -- to say, "Hey, unless absolutely there`s no other alternative, don`t live with your husband during the divorce. Not a good idea." Now I want to go to Bill Warner, who`s a private investigator, who has a totally different theory on this case, one that has actually nothing to do with any family member. Bill Warner, you find it very significant that Karen`s body was found near a cemetery. Why is that?

(UNINTELLIGIBLE) The problem I have, is that I was aware earlier in the year in -- from January through March 2011, that there was a supposed serial killer in the Memphis Tennessee area who killed four women and dumped in or near their bodies in a cemetery in Memphis, Tennessee, the Mount Carmel Cemetery. I find this a little disturbing, being only maybe an hour and a half way from Dyersburg Tennessee. As far as my involvement is all of these missing blond look-a-like female cases goes, I work alone, my theories are my own and I do not consult with anyone before I published my articles which have been featured in numerous newspapers online. I first spoke publicly about five missing petite blond females on CNN Headline News back on Friday Nov. 18th, 2011 and at that time it included Karen Swift before it became known she had been murdered.

wounds. Sometimes it causes them to fester. This week will mark 13 years
since my friend, Jessica Nicole Lewis, was murdered in South Memphis in
2011. Jessica Lewis
was beautiful, her photo above on the left, blonde hair. She often
flat-ironed her shoulder-length, strawberry-blonde curls, and she had
style — her closet was full of body-hugging jeans and cute tops to adorn
her near-hourglass, athletic figure. Thirteen years of unanswered questions. Thirteen years knowing the
man who took her life was able to continue living his, freely and
without consequence. On February 20, 2011, Jessica’s body was found in Mt. Carmel Cemetery,
an old unkempt graveyard at Elvis Presley and Elliston, about three
miles north of Graceland and as many miles south of the Stax Museum of
American Soul Music. There was evidence of a struggle; she’d been
dragged through the grounds and shot in the head, the only clothing left
on her battered body was underwear (panties pulled down) and a single
sock. The murder weapon, a gun, is probably in a river somewhere, or sitting on a shelf said Sgt. Robert Wilkie of
the Memphis Police.

In
less than a month in early 2011, one man murdered three women and tried
to kill a fourth in South Memphis. He fired a single round into each
one of them, then left two of the bodies in Mt. Carmel Cemetery in South
Memphis. The final victim, and the only one to survive, was shot just
across the street from Mt. Carmel. He's never been caught. And as far as
police know, he hasn't killed since. 'There's four that I believe ...
are the work of the same (killer),' said Sgt. Robert Wilkie,
the Memphis Police Department homicide detective assigned to the cases.
'Two of them are actually linked by forensic evidence. The other two,
to make a total of four, because of the location and the types of
injuries, motive more than anything.' His crime spree began on Jan. 27,
2011.
