Common sense travel advisory, avoid travel on MLK Blvd from Rt 301 over to Rt 41 the North Tamiami Trail at any time! Sarasota City Commissioners No Help Curbing Newtown Shootings and Murders But Hamstring Cops With Police Advisory Panel. "We can't hamstring our police while defending themselves against dangerous criminals and protecting law abiding citizens with groups like the Sarasota Police Advisory Panel which makes police officers second guess every move they make". The 'Sarasota police advisory panel' meets quarterly and consists of five civilian volunteers, (some lawyers and apparently members of the ACLU), who are appointed by the Sarasota City Commissioners. The Independent Police Advisory Panel was established by the City Commission in 2011 to help ensure police accountability and transparency (AND WATCH THEIR EVERY MOVE).

The Sarasota City Commissioners are Liz Alpert, Kyle Battie, Jen Ahearn-Koch, and Erik Arroyo. The Sarasota City Commissioners and the police advisory panel scrutinize and hamstring the cops while shootings and murders in the Newtown section of Sarasota have skyrocketed this year! The administrator of the police advisory panel is college student Heather Salzman (doctoral candidate in England) who reviews all complaints filed against Sarasota Police Department officers and civilian staff members to assist the Chief of Police with the policies, practices and procedures concerning the processing of complaints. Furthermore, Heather Jane Salzman, who was born in the UK, receives and file complaints from citizens against Sarasota Police Department members, her causes civil rights and social action.
