New artist rendering of kidnappers face of what the masked man outside Nancy Guthrie front door looks like, sorry I don't see it!

NYP Writes 2/14/2026; Nancy Guthrie kidnapper’s possible looks revealed by forensic artist reviewing surveillance footage, sorry I don't see it! From what I saw on the surveillance footage of the masked man at Nancy Guthrie's front door, I saw a heavy set white man (not Latino) around 185 lbs at about 5' 10" tall with a round face, I would estimate the age of the man at above 50+ due to his fumbling around with the doorbell, the way his holstered gun hung down in front of him between his legs due to his beer belly and the belt holding the holstered gun sliding down along his hips, just sloppy, not Rico Suave.

Well Hells Bells, Ron Swanson...Where You Know Him From 'Parks and Recreation', looks more like the masked man than the artists rendering seen in the NYP article.

Investigators believe the handle (grip) of the gun may provide enough detail for ATF personnel to eventually identify the specific firearm. FBI Reports; Additional recovered footage, from the same camera - at the same timeline the morning of Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance. This footage is just before the original video shared, with the individual approaching Nancy Guthrie’s front door. On Tuesday, law enforcement released still images and surveillance video of an armed man (heavy set white male) captured on a Nest camera outside the 84-year-old’s Catalina Foothills home front door. The images show a masked man at Guthrie’s front door wearing a jacket, gloves, pants, holstered gun, and carrying a backpack. In one photo, the man appears to be holding something in front of the camera. 

The armed masked man outside Nancy Guthrie’s home looks like he is carrying a Russian semi-auto Makarov 9x18mm pistol with a curved grip, also the holster is wrong it appears to go with a western type revolver with a long barrel. The armed man at Guthrie’s front door uses  a"cheap universal nylon style" cowboy type holster made for a revolver, he uses it to house a semi auto pistol, not a guy proficient with handguns, LOL. Most likely the gun is the Russian Makarov semi-auto pistol with curved grip, they have been readily available in the USA for decades. I knew as soon as I saw the photos that the gun the kidnapper had was most likely a Russian semi auto Makarov style pistol, as I have had one for over 25 years.  

VIDEO; Private investigator calls new FBI video key break in Nancy Guthrie case. The footage shows a masked, armed figure approaching her doorstep, disabling her Nest camera, and leaving before her pacemaker app disconnects. The masked man appears to be a white, heavy set, middle aged man with a beard and mustache peeking out from under his mask. Blood was later found outside the home. The investigator says the suspect’s movements, behavior, and attempts to hide from the camera offer critical clues.

The masked man photographed at Nancy Guthrie’s front door seen with the "cheap universal nylon style" holster for the semi-auto pistol could most likely be carrying the Russian 9x18mm PM Makarov semi-auto pistol, which also had the slightly curved grip, makes sense. I have a Russian 9x18mm PM Makarov semi-auto pistol I bought 25 years ago in Florida, they are common at all gun shows. The 9x18mm PM (Pistolet Makarova) is a compact, Soviet-designed double-action/single-action pistol, utilizing a simple straight-blowback operation. Introduced in 1951, the Makarov features an 8-round magazine, a 3.8-inch barrel, and a 9.27mm (.365 in) bullet diameter, making it slightly more powerful than a .380 ACP, but the gun is heavy to carry, you would need a holster but not like how the masked man in the photo is doing.

New surveillance images show armed masked man outside Nancy Guthrie’s home looks like he is possibly carrying a Russian Makarov pistol, with curved grip in a cowboy style nylon holster which is set for a revolver with a long barrel. If I was the kidnapper, as supposedly this mook in the photo who stares directly into the ring bell camera is, I would not carry my gun hanging from a "cheap universal nylon style" holster dangling between my legs in front of me. The kidnapper is no expert or is he even experienced, he is no pro! Look, if the victim of a single kidnapper (like man in photo) is 18 or 80 you darn well know there is going to be a struggle, you do not break into the house with your gun hanging loosely from your belt in front of you where the victim could grab it. Expert analysis (and me) suggests the suspect may be inexperienced with firearms because the semi-auto pistol is being carried in a holster designed for a much larger weapon, likely a long-barrel revolver. The Russian pistol Makarov PM is fairly heavy and that is why it appears to hang in the photo at an awkward angle.
