What drew the ultra violent Mac Baller Brims drug gang and Kimoy "O" McDonald of the Bronx to set up shop in Binghamton NY, again? The Mac Baller's Mafia, a ruthless Bronx-based cabal of drug dealers and gunrunners that officials call the most dangerous gang in the city. The Mac Baller Brims, a set of the national Bloods gang, form a terrifying band of crime-happy hoods who own much of New York’s street drug trade and dominate Rikers Island, where they control the contraband and decide who lives and dies, police and jail sources say. Top dogs in the city,” said one law enforcement source. “There are more of them than any other Bloods, and they’re highly organized, extremely violent, very powerful. Other gangs fear them.” The gang, which also calls itself the “Mac Balla Family,” is based in the Morrisania section of The Bronx but has tentacles across the city, especially in Brooklyn and Staten Island, as well as upstate and New Jersey.
Mac Ballers boss Larry “O” Calderon, DOB 01/07/1977, is currently in Clinton Correctional prison in the Bronx NY, his earliest possible release date is 08/02/2027. The Mac Ballers leader is convicted killer Larry “O” Calderon, a Bronx-born career criminal who spent 17 years in state prison in two stints and is now facing life for murdering a subordinate (convicted of manslaughter), according to a top investigator familiar with the gang. Calderon is known as the “godfather” or “don” of the Mac Baller Brims. Judgment, Supreme Court, Bronx County rendered July 12, 2017, convicting defendant Larry “O” Calderon, upon his plea of guilty, of manslaughter in the first degree, and sentencing him, as a second violent felony offender, to a term of 14 years, unanimously affirmed. Lavon Barrett: Mac Ballers gang appointed Lavon Barrett as the "Don" or leader for "the whole town" (including NYC operations) in late December 2017. Court-authorized wiretaps on phones used by several defendants confirmed that Lavon Barrett did hold the highest-ranking position among non-incarcerated Mac Ballers. MAY 14, 2021 FEDERAL JUDGMENT as to Lavon Barrett, NINETY SEVEN (97) MONTHS TO BE FOLLOWED BY FOUR (4) YEARS OF SUPERVISED RELEASE THE DEFENDANT SHALL NOT ASSOCIATE WITH ANY ORGANIZED CRIME OR GANG MEMBERS. Ordered by Judge Frederic Block on 5/14/2021. But, Lavon Barrett is Not in BOP Custody as of: 07/19/2024.

To
facilitate his illegal activities and launder the significant amounts
of money generated, reportedly thousands of dollars weekly, McDonald
utilized a sophisticated money laundering scheme involving the creation
of fake businesses and defrauding various banks. He maintained an
apartment on Reynolds Road in Johnson City, NY, which served as a hub
for storing and distributing the narcotics from 2019 to 2020 and 2021 until his arrest in
June 2022.
Arrest,
Trial, and Conviction; McDonald's operations came to an end with a
series of sweeping arrests of his gang members in June 2022. Following
these arrests, the case was unusually kept under a strict seal in the US
District Court for the Northern District of New York in Utica and Syracuse NY,
meaning the general public and local media outlets were largely unaware
of the legal proceedings for over three years and 6 months.

The
federal trial was protracted, secret, and sealed lasting approximately 3 years and 6
months. On December 18, 2025, the seal was lifted upon his conviction
and sentencing. Conviction: Kimoy McDonald was found guilty of a comprehensive
list of charges, including various drug charges, bank fraud, money laundering, and
conspiracy to distribute narcotics. Sentence: He was sentenced to 144
months (12 years) in federal prison. Restitution: Additionally, he was
ordered to pay restitution of $351,732.00 to the banks he defrauded as
part of his money laundering operation.
Connections
to Unsolved Cases; An interesting and somber aspect of the information
available online revolves around the timing of Kimoy "O" McDonald's activities and
an unsolved murder in the Binghamton area. Aliza Spencer Murder: On
April 21, 2022, 12-year-old Aliza Spencer was shot and killed on Bigelow
Street in Binghamton, NY. The case remains unsolved. Kimoy McDonald's
Proximity: Public records indicate that Kimoy McDonald, driving a dark
gray Wrangler Rubicon Jeep, was present on Bigelow Street multiple times
in April 2022 to deliver drugs to a co-conspirator, Kathleen Trynoski,
who lived at XXX Bigelow St Binghamton NY for at least 3 years by April 2022.
Drug Dealer Kimoy McDonald took a plea deal from the Fed's and was sentenced on December 18, 2025 to 144 months (12 years) in the Federal Bureau of Prisons system, he was looking at LIFE in prison with no possible parole. Where's Kimoy! On January 17, 2026 a search of the Bureau of Prisons inmate locator website indicates that Kimoy McDonald is/was a known inmate but his whereabouts are unknown, odd? Is Kimoy Mcdonald going to be charged or called as a witness in another case? Best to my knowledge Kimoy McDonald is currently in the custody of the US Marshals Service (USMS).
