UPDATE Thursday April 8th, FORT MYERS, Fla. — Investigators say they have identified the man depicted in cell phone camera footage repeatedly punching a dog. Sheriff Carmine Marceno says law enforcement is working with the state's attorney's office. A bystander caught the moment the man attacked the dog on Tuesday, March 29 at the Racetrac gas station located at 4551 South Cleveland Avenue in Fort Myers, according to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, his name has not been released as of yet. The guy beating the dog at Racetrac gas station in Fort Myers was wearing a blue bandana or work hat covering on his head, see photo. “This guy is the lowest of the low to be able to do something like that,” said Trish Routte, with Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers. “It’s a very pathetic display of being a coward,” said Gulf Coast Humane Society Community Relations Coordinator Brian Wierima.
The dog in the video appears to be medium sized dog with black and white markings, apparently a long haired dog, you can see the face of the dog looking at the man from the back seat just before the man slams the rear passenger car door closed.

The man seen in video above from Fort Myers is about 5' 8' tall, white male, short beard, dark hair, thin build, 150 lbs, he was wearing a short sleeve pullover shirt and dark shorts, the man has very thin arms, very distinctive.
