Sarasota County commissioners Christian Ziegler & Alan Maio defend actions of rogue county code enforcement investigator Harvey Ayers, he resigned

Original Publish Date June 17, 2021. Sarasota County commissioners Christian Ziegler and Alan Maio appear to defend actions of rogue county code enforcement investigator Harvey Ayers, what the hell? Sarasota County commissioners Christian Ziegler and Alan Maio "see no evil, hear no evil, and will speak no evil" when it comes to rogue out of control county code enforcement investigator Harvey Ayers. The phrase is often used to refer to those who deal with impropriety by turning a blind eye and allowing further damage.

HERALD TRIBUNE WRITES...SARASOTA COUNTY Hours after Sarasota County commissioners would sign a proclamation declaring Tuesday “code enforcement officers week,” Commissioner Christian Ziegler defended the county’s integrity and accused the Herald-Tribune of inaccurately reporting on the potential illegal actions of a rogue code enforcement officer (Harvey Ayers).

UPDATE: Nov 8th, 2021, Herald Tribune writes, Sarasota County intended to fire controversial code enforcement officer Harvey Ayers, but he resigned before being terminated, according to newly released documents. The documents, obtained through a public records request, reveal that county officials had drafted a “Notice of Intent to Terminate” letter for Ayers, but never handed it to him. The letter says that Ayers appeared to have retaliated against a homeowner who had filed an ethics complaint against him in September.

STOOGES, SARASOTA COUNTY COMMISSIONERS: “I don’t know if the news articles are always as accurate as some are led to believe but the investigation is going on, some processes are being put into place,” #1 STOOGE Christian Ziegler said on Tuesday. “I can’t speak for the rest of the commissioners, but I think the county as a whole does a darn good job and I think that the process changes are good, and I don’t want that to be reflective, no matter how it’s spun or the context that’s added in the papers, on the rest of our staff within this organization." #2 STOOGE Commission Chairman Alan Maio added: “Extremely well put, Nyuk, Nyuk.”
