AMW SATURDAY 11/01/08......Cops in Arkansas are searching for the unknown suspect (UNSUB) who beat a television anchorwoman to death. Anne Pressly, 26, died nearly a week after she was beaten in her home, and as a precautionary measure, cops have distributed pepper spray to local television news personalities who may be targeted as well. A reward fund established by KATV topped $50,000 by late Wednesday afternoon, Your tips do make a difference. Provide all the information you can. If you'd like to talk to a Hotline specialist, call AMW at 1-800-CRIME-TV.

Police say the pepper spray was donated by an anonymous donor. Brad Garrett, a former FBI agent and ABC News contributor, said the attack has many earmarks related to stalking. "Someone who is struck multiple times tends to lend itself to someone who had an obsession with her or knew her, because it's personal versus someone who was going to steal," Garrett told "Good Morning America." Anne Pressly, suffered cuts and bruises to her upper body and head caused by an unknown blunt object.

Police haven't ruled out the possibility that the assault was motivated by Pressly's portrayal of a slim blonde right-wing pundit (Anne Coutler) in the new Oliver Stone biopic about President Bush, "W". Anne Pressly's father speaks out about the brutal attack on his daughter. Guy Cannady says he wonders if the attacker targeted his daughter because of her high profile job as a news anchor at KATV.
Little Rock, Ark.

Employees at a fitness center in Little Rock told AMW producers that police collected surveillance video from a camera on the exterior of their facility, which was trained on a nearby road.Along with the surveillance video from the gym, police have collected video from a Shell gas station. A clerk there told AMW that Anne's credit card was used at one of the gas pumps there the night of her attack.

The employee said that there was a surveillance camera working on the premises, and that the video has been turned over to police, but investigators working the case have not confirmed this information. The last contact Anne had with anyone was through a text message with a friend at 9:50 p.m. on October 19, 2008.

The back door was unlocked (front door was locked) because Anne Presley had two dogs and most likely had taken them outside to do their business before she left for work, most likely the man was watching from his vehicle parked in the street near her home and moved in as she was bringing the dogs back inside, "dogs were found outside and no sign of forced entry". Police aren't discounting any theories either.
One theory involves Pressly's back door and whether her attacker gained entry as she let her dogs out.

She's a professional cheerleader and a Florida licensed private investigator, it's the real life story of Tampa Bay Buccaneers Cheerleader Lori Rumberg.

The daughter of Dennis and Renae Rumberg, Brantwood, Lori was one of 500 young women trying out for the cheerleading team. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers had partnered with the Wilhelmina Modeling Agency to "select the most talented and spirited cheerleaders in the National Football League."

While being a cheerleader for professional football team is "like having another full-time job, Rumberg currently works as a private investigator in Tampa Bay.
She has a bachelors degree in criminology from the University of Southern Florida. "I attended the University of Wisconsin for a while, but then moved to Florida to attend a reputable school for criminology and get the best education possible," she said.Rumberg describes her "normal" job as interesting. She is a licensed private investigator and the company she works for conducts surveillance with advanced technology and does general researches. "I am both in the field and in the office," she said.

"I hold a concealed weapons licence and a G licence which means I can carry a weapon in the open and serve as a body guard. "Since she must be prepared to go "out in the field at the drop of a hat," Rumberg said she does carry a gun every day. Her office work includes doing research to find lost or missing persons."It is a great feeling to get to the bottom of an assigned case, mission accomplished when the case is solved,"she said.

"Dealing with a variety of services and requests keeps us on our toes. It seems there is never a dull moment." The key to finding time for everything she is involved in is to be organized and prioritize, Rumberg said. She noted that her boyfriend helps out so she can do the things that are important to her."It sounds ironic, but besides working as a licensed private investigator, my dedication and commitment now is to dance for the Bucs," Rumberg said.

"There's so much I've already experienced that has been so amazing."By being a Tampa Bay Buccaneer cheerleader, she has shared and encountered unbelievable opportunities that would normally never have been feasible. Rumberg acknowledges the support of the cheerleading team members and its coordinator as well as the people back home. Because of her busy schedule, she only gets back to the Prentice area once a year but, Rumberg said, she keeps in touch with family members by e-mail. She speaks to her parents every Sunday "no matter what is going on that day.""It is important that I talk to them at least that often," she said. "They are always there for me and all their support really makes a difference in my life. I could never be where I am and who I am today without them."

Usama Bin Laden's 'Media Secretary' Faces Life If Guilty at Guantanamo Bay, Love Death-Hate Life says Ali Hamza al-Bahlul, Adam Gadahn has his job now

Usama Bin Laden's 'Media Secretary' Ali Hamza al-Bahlul a/k/a Mohammad Anas Abdullah Khalidi, Faces Life If Guilty at Guantanamo Bay.

GUANTANAMO BAY NAVAL BASE, Cuba — A jury of U.S. military officers at Guantanamo's second war-crimes trial reached a verdict Friday that could put Usama bin Laden's alleged "media secretary" and videomaker in prison for life.

But the decision will not be announced until Monday, 11/03/08, because Ali Hamza al-Bahlul, a small man at 5-foot-3 and 130 pounds, (his photos above), was already back in his cell when the verdict was reached, said the judge, Air Force Col. Ronald Gregory. The judge told al-Bahlul no announcement would be made in his absence. UPDATE 11/03/08...Gitmo jury: Life sentence for bin Laden videomaker, ALI HAMZA AL-BAHLUL TO ROT IN PRISON.

The nine panelists, all approved by the Pentagon to serve as jurors, deliberated for roughly four hours. The accused offered no defense after calling the proceedings a "legal farce."

The prosecution said al-Bahlul's violent propaganda videos helped inspire the Sept. 11 attacks. The Yemeni prisoner also helped prepare at least two Sept. 11 hijackers for their mission and instructed many other terrorists through videos he created as a propagandist for Al Qaeda in Afghanistan, Army Maj. Daniel Cowhig said.

"The accused shouted through the medium of video, the Internet, and DVDs: Love death, hate life," Cowhig said in closing statements Friday morning at the isolated Navy base. Ali Hamza Al-Bahlul aka Ali Harnza Ahmad Suliman al BaWul, refused to present a defense in the weeklong trial because the judge ruled he could not represent himself. His Pentagon-appointed lawyer did not speak at all in deference to his client's wishes, declining even to answer questions from the judge while in the courtoom.

The military claims al-Bahlul committed war crimes by serving as chief propagandist for Al Qaeda and as an aide to bin Laden. Videos made by the defendant were allegedly shown to terrorist recruits at training camps in Afghanistan.

Usama Bin Laden appointed Ali Hamza al-Bahlul as his media office director and public relations secretary. Ali Hamza al-Bahlul was responsible for producing all al-Qaida propaganda, including the video commemorating the USS Cole attack, "The Destruction of the American Destroyer". In his capacity as public relations secretary, Ali Hamza al-Bahlul regularly escorted Usama Bin Laden and often provided computer assistance to the Taliban. When with Bin Laden, the Ali Hamza al-Bahlul carried a Kalashnikov rifle, two loaded magazines, a Makarov pistol, and a suicide belt equipped with explosives to protect Bin Laden.

Ali Hamza al-Bahlul evacuated Kandahar with Usama Bin Laden several days before the 9/11 attacks. Ali Hamza al-Bahlul was tasked with establishing a video feed in order for Bin Laden to watch the 9/11 attacks. Despite his efforts, al Bahlul was unable to obtain a satellite connection to watch the 9/11 attacks for bin-Laden, because of mountainous terrain.

Cowhig said he filmed martyrdom videos/wills for lead Sept. 11 hijacker Mohamed Atta and fellow hijacker Ziad Jarrah in preparation for the attacks against the United States. Ali Hamza al-Bahul also arranged for Muhammed Atta, also known as Abu Abdul Rahman al Masri, and Ziad al Jarrah, also known as Abu al Qa'qa al Lubnani, to pledge "bayat," to Usama bin Laden."(These videos) contain the thoughts, the beliefs, the ideals of the accused," the prosecutor said.

In 1999, with knowledge of Usama bin Laden’s 1996 “Declaration of Jihad Against the Americans” and the 1998 fatwa endorsed by bin Laden calling for the “killing of Americans and their allies, both military and civilian,” al Bahlul voluntarily traveled from Yemen to Afghanistan (viaPakistan) with the intent and purpose of joining and supporting Usama bin Laden in his expressed cause. In this fatwa it was declared that all Muslims able do to so “should kill Americans and their allies, both civilian and military.”

Ali Hamza al-Bahul joined military jurors Wednesday 10/29/08, watching his handiwork --"The Destruction of the American Destroyer, USS Cole", a crude two-hour recruiting video that spliced gory Muslim suffering with exhortations to holy war offered to prove the filmmaker committed war crimes. Bahlul watched intently as his work was displayed on more than a dozen screens around the tribunal chamber. When bin Laden spoke in the video, Bahlul leaned toward the monitor at the defendant's faux mahogany table. He slammed his fist down -- just once -- during a segment showing Muslim women killed in what looked like an air assault. He nodded his head in agreement during a portion alleging that Jews defiled the al Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem.

Ali Hamza al-Bahul grinned approvingly at the FBI agent when he explained that one segment showed bin Laden wearing a traditional Yemeni dagger of adornment. The eight-man, one-woman jury of senior U.S. military officers mostly stared straight into the monitors before them, expressionless. Once, when the video showed a cartoon explosion of the warship, a Navy captain on the panel snapped his head toward the accused and stared.

On Monday 11/3/08, Ali Hamza al-Bahul will get life in Prison !

The 2008 elections are over and the Democratic nominee Barack Obama has won. Barack Obama will be the President of the USA from 2009 to 2112.

Barack Obama has decided to retain the Bush administration's secretary of Defense, Robert Gates, in his current position, at least for a year.

According to a report just posted on, Gates' reappointment as Defense secretary will come next week as part of the overall announcements of Obama's national security team, presumably including Sen.
Hillary Clinton as secretary of State. And retired Marine Gen. Jim Jones as national security adviser.

There is still a cloud of darkness over the association of Barack Obama with William "Bill" Ayers and his wife Bernardine Dohrn, who were responsible for a reign of terror in the USA from 1968 to 1981. William "Bill" Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn were the leaders of the Weather Underground and involved with the domestic terrorists groups nationwide bombings, bank robberies and cop killings. Let's hope President Barack Obama's reign from 2009 to 2112 is successful.

"Dear Mr. Obama," I won't vote for you. When you call the Iraqi war a mistake you disrespect the sacrifice of everyone who died promoting Freedom !

If the election came down to YouTube viewers, a pro-John McCain video would be the winner.
A video of an Iraq veteran giving his endorsement to McCain is the site's most watched election video, with 11 million views, according to the BBC, which calls it "short, simple and powerful." CLICK IMAGE FOR VIDEO.

The video opens with a young man with close-cropped hair standing outside in casual clothes next to an American flag.

"Dear Mr. Obama," he says, and describes himself as an Iraq war veteran, whose yearlong tour convinced him that Iraqis are "just like us" in seeking freedom.

"When you call the Iraqi war a mistake you disrespect the service and sacrifice of everyone who has died promoting freedom... Because you do not understand or appreciate these principles Sir, I am supporting Senator John McCain for president."

"Are they better off today than they were in 2002? You bet," he says. The man proceeds to list the reasons he doesn't agree with Obama's policies toward Iraq and instead is endorsing John McCain for president, "because he understands the fundamental truth, freedom is always worth the price."

The man then walks away from the camera, revealing he has a prosthetic left leg. The two-minute video closes with Lee Greenwood's "Proud to Be an American" playing over a pro-McCain graph.

Al-Shabaab Somalia posted a 30-min video on of the last testament of suicide car bomber Abdel Aziz Saad, site based in Vancouver WA USA !

Al-Shabaab posted a 30-minute video on Islamist websites ( on Thursday containing the last testament of a suicide bomber identified as Abdel Aziz Saad. The video identified him as the "ninth" suicide bomber, without giving more details, security officials in Somalia blamed the Islamist group the Al-Shabaab for the 5 car bombings.

In the clips, a young fighter also calls on Muslims to defend Islam and expel foreigners including African Union troops and Ethiopians from Somalia. "The only language they understand is the language of fire, sword and bombs," he says.

The official website of al-shabaab is hosted in the USA by the Dotster Web Hosting Co. in Vancouver WA. For the last six months I have been in battle with the Dotster Web Hosting Co and their mouthpiece The Columbian Newspaper to get the al-Shabaab terrorist network shut down in Vancouver WA, both the Dotster Web Hosting Co and The Columbian Newspaper stand behind the Al-Shabaab website and site "Freedom of Speech" for the Specially Designated Terrorist Organization, Al-Shabaab (by the US Government) and refuse to shut down this terrorist network that has now graduated to car bombs, al-Qaeda's signature card !

The LA Times has just recently posted an article where the terrorist group al-Shabaab admits that they are directly aligned with al-Qaeda and take their orders from Osama bin-Laden. Today, Thursday 10/30/2008, al-Shabaab is now posting "Shahiid (suicide) videos" on thier website seeking future recruits. All of this is taking place thanks to the Dotster Web Hosting Company and The Columbian Newspaper in Vancouver Wa, USA.... Vancouver WA is in the USA, isn't it ?

The Columbian Newspaper; In our view: Internet censor (Bill Warner) Wednesday, May 07, 2008; A Florida man’s heart might be in the right place, but he is misguided in his bid to get a Vancouver Internet service company to drop a Somali-language Web site (Al-shabaab terrorists).

Bill Warner, a Sarasota private investigator ( ), wants Dotster Inc. of Vancouver to refuse service to . Warner, who has launched similar purge efforts in other cities with other Internet companies, says supports an al-Qaida organization in Somalia, where war and genocide are tragic facts of daily life (THEY ARE AN aL-QAIDA ORGANIZATION SEE LA TIMES ARTICLE).

“There are groups like
this one that associate with al-Qaida through Web sites that help promote the ideology, help find new recruits and help the effort to support terrorism,” Warner said in a Tuesday Columbian story by Courtney Sherwood. “It’s not freedom of speech. This site should not be hosted in Vancouver". Certainly the world has changed since 9/11, and we don’t fault any citizen for being alert to signs of possible terrorism.

But the line separating suspicion (and the alerting of authorities) from vigilantism and paranoia gets blurry fast, as it did in World War II when the U.S. government rounded up 120,000 Japanese Americans on the West Coast and put them in camps, for fear they would assist the Axis countries. Dotster, which employs about 100 here and has clients worldwide, already works closely with the FBI and other law-enforcement agencies, says its CEO, Clint Page.

There was widespread international condemnation of the blasts which came as political momentum was gathering for a U.N. -brokered peace plan to bring moderate opposition members into government. The process has had little impact on the ground.

Both Somaliland and Puntland had been relatively quiet in recent months compared with the south. The coordinated blasts would mark a return north for al Shabaab -- where its members were blamed for some attacks on aid workers several years ago -- if it is confirmed the group was behind them.

The violence in Somalia has killed nearly 10,000 civilians since the start of 2007 and forced more than a million from their homes, triggering a humanitarian crisis aid workers say is one of the worst -- and most neglected -- in the world.

The government of Somaliland, which has declared the region independent and prides itself on maintaining greater stability than south Somalia, poured soldiers onto the streets and rounded people up in hotels and the airport in search of suspects. In Kenya, which has in the past suffered attacks planned from Somali soil, a government office warned its staff of a planned al Qaeda attack before the U.S. election.

A memo by the revenue authority said it received information militants were planning to attack "vital installations" in Kenya and Uganda such as petrol stations, tankers and airports. The government said it was on alert. Adding to tensions, police said they arrested three people with wire detonators on a bus heading to north Kenya, near the border with Somalia.

Somalia (Reuters) - North Somali authorities said on Thursday they had arrested a prominent local sheikh and others suspected of involvement in a wave of suicide attacks that killed at least 30 people.

On February 29, 2008, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice designated al-Shabaab (aka al-Shabab, aka Shabaab, aka the Youth, aka Mujahidin al-Shabaab Movement, aka Mujahideen Youth Movement, aka Mujahidin Youth Movement, aka MYM, aka Harakat Shabab al-Mujahidin, aka Hizbul Shabaab, aka Hisb’ul Shabaab, aka al-Shabaab al-Islamiya, aka Youth Wing, aka al Shabaab al-Islaam, aka al-Shabaab al-Jihaad, aka the Unity of Islamic Youth) as a Foreign Terrorist Organization under Section 219 of the Immigration and Nationality Act (as amended) and as a Specially Designated Global Terrorist under Section 1(b) of Executive Order 13224 (as amended).

The consequences of these designations include a prohibition against the provision of material support or resources to al-Shabaab and blocking of all property and interests in property of the organization that are in the United States, or come within the United States, or the control of U.S. persons

Haniffa Bin Osman Sentenced for Conspiracy to Provide Material Support to The Terror Organization "Tamil Tiger"

Man Sentenced for Conspiracy to Provide Material Support to Terror Organization, Aided Tamil Tiger Terrorists in the Attempted Purchase of Surface to Air Missiles, Night Vision Devices, Machine Guns and State of the Art Firearms.

BALTIMORE, MD -- U.S. District Judge Catherine C. Blake sentenced Haniffa Bin Osman, age 57, a citizen of the Republic of Singapore, today to 37 months in prison followed by three years of supervised release for conspiracy to provide material support to a designated foreign terrorist organization and money laundering, announced United States Attorney for the District of Maryland Rod J. Rosenstein.

United States Attorney Rod J. Rosenstein said, "Haniffa Bin Osman conspired with others to provide material support to the Tamil Tigers, a designated foreign terrorist organization, and attempted to illegally export arms, including state of the art firearms, grenade launchers, night vision devices, surface to air missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles. We will use all available legal tools to prevent terrorism, including undercover operations targeting people who attempt to obtain military weapons in violation of American law."

According to the plea agreement, from April to September 29, 2006 Osman conspired with Haji Subandi, Erick Wotulo and Thirunavukarasu Varatharasa to provide state-of-the-art firearms, machine guns and ammunition, surface to air missiles, night vision goggles and other military weapons to the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (Tamil Tigers) operating within Sri Lanka, to be used to fight against Sri Lankan government forces. The conspirators contacted an undercover business in Maryland about the sale of military weapons, requesting price quotes and negotiating the purchases.

Subandi sent an itemized list of 53 military weapons, including sniper rifles, machine guns and grenade launchers that he wanted to acquire for the Tamil Tigers. Subandi advised the undercover business that Osman would inspect the weapons for the Tamil Tigers. Wotulo also advised that the chief of Tamil Tigers requested that he and Osman travel to Baltimore to meet with the undercover agents.

Osman arrived in Guam on September 26, 2006 and inspected various machine guns, sniper rifles and ammunition. He also inspected two surface to air missiles and agreed to communicate with others within the Tamil Tigers about the availability and pricing of the missiles. After the inspection was completed, Osman agreed to arrange for the transfer of additional monies into an undercover bank account in Maryland as further payment for the arms and munitions. On September 28 an additional $452,000 was wired from Malaysia to the undercover account in Maryland as a further down payment on the $900,000 worth of weapons ordered by the Tamil Tigers.

In 2006, Suresh Sriskandarajah (seen in photo above) was arrested in Kitchener, Ont., after U.S. prosecutors accused him of working to help Tamil Tiger fighters in Sri Lanka. Sriskandarajah is accused of money laundering, helping to buy military software and communications equipment, and using students in Canada to smuggle goods into Sri Lanka. He is still wanted in the U.S. but he has been freed on bail until his extradition hearings, reports The Globe and Mail.
At the time of his arrest, Sriskandarajah was a student at the University of Waterloo. Canada added the Tamil Tigers to its official list of terrorist organizations in April. The U.S. added the group to its own list in 1997.

Thirunavukarasu Varatharasa, age 38, a citizen of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 57 months in prison for the conspiracy and attempted arms exportation.
Subandi, age 71, a citizen of the Republic of Indonesia, pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 37 months in prison for conspiracy to provide material support to a foreign terrorist organization, money laundering and attempted exportation of arms and munitions.
Wotulo, age 60, a citizen of the Republic of Indonesia, and a retired Indonesian Marine Corps General, pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 30 months in prison for the conspiracy and money laundering.

Tamil Tigers rep arrested in NYC April 2007. Last year I reported on the Tamil Tigers in New York City and how they were raising funds for the purchase of military equipment, see following; NEW YORK -- The top U.S. representative of the Tamil Tigers, a rebel group designated as a foreign terrorist organization, orchestrated a covert campaign to finance its escalating conflict with military forces in Sri Lanka, federal prosecutors said Wednesday. Karunakaran Kandasamy, 50, was ordered held without bail in New York on charges of providing material support to terrorists. If convicted, he faces up to 15 years in prison. Experts say Sri Lankan Tamil Tigers' recent attempts to buy weapons in New York either show the group's desperation or a possible precursor to international terrorist attacks. Tamil Tigers link to al-Qaeda.

These are the facts, the only person who discoverd the following information was private investigator Bill Warner. "Two major terrorist recruiters and or supporters of terrorism lived virtually next door to each other for over 3 years 1999 to 2002 on Cedarcroft Rd in Queens NY". Mohammed Junaid Babar was a major recruiter for al-Muhajiroun and he evolved into an Al-Qaeda operative linked to numerous bomb plots in the USA and the UK. Babar was arrested In Queens in April of 2004 and charged with providing material support to a foreign terrorist organization and was involved in fund raising for al-Muhajiroun.

Karunakaran Kandasamy the suspected head of the U.S. branch of Sri Lankan rebel group the Tamil Tigers aka LITE was arrested in Queens New York on Wednesday 4/25/2007 and charged with providing material support to a foreign terrorist organization. As the director of the U.S. branch of the Tamil Tigers, which is based in Queens, New York, Kandasamy oversaw the organization's activities, including its fund-raising, prosecutors said. Last year, its emissaries were charged in Brooklyn with conspiring to buy surface-to-air missiles. Prosecutors also alleged the defendants tried to bribe U.S. officials to remove the group from the terrorism list.

In its early days, experts say, the LTTE trained with the Palestine Liberation Organization, and the group may still come into contact with other terrorist organizations through the illegal arms trade.

World War II Vet Killed, Assailant's Accomplice, Carol Hart, Captured 38 Years Later in Manton Mich.

Captured Mich. fugitive says she's 'tired of running' Oralandar Brand-Williams / The Detroit News; When Carol Hart was captured Wednesday by sheriff's deputies after walking away from a Michigan prison 38 years ago, she resisted before handing them a bogus driver's license. But she soon gave up her fight.

Her reasons were surprisingly simple. The U.S. Marshal led Detroit Fugitive Apprehension Team (DFAT) Task Force announces the arrest today of Carol HartT for escape. Hart escaped from the now defunct Detroit House of Corrections (DeHoCo) in September of 1970.

"I'm too old to fight, I'm tired of running," the convicted murderer told agents on the way to jail. The Wexford County Sheriff's Office, working with U.S. Marshals agents, arrested the 61-year-old in Manton, Mich., the sixth fugitive from Michigan prisons to be recaptured since April.

Hart escaped from the Detroit House of Corrections Sept. 17, 1970, by walking out of the minimum-security prison, where she was sent after a conviction for robbery and murder. She was 23 at the time. She was serving 25-35 years for a botched Genesee County robbery in 1969 with her boyfriend that ended in the fatal shooting of a World War II veteran, according to the U.S. Marshals Office.

Matt Batcheller, a spokesman for the U.S. Marshals Eastern District Office in Detroit, said Hart was living under another name and produced a driver's license identifying herself as "Carrie Lynn Fox" when authorities arrested her. Hart was living in Manton with her husband since 2003.
Batcheller said it's not clear if Hart's husband knew she was a fugitive. A phone call left at Hart's home was not returned Wednesday evening. Authorities believe Hart fled to Florida with her children after the escape and started a new life using a fraudulent Social Security card.

She has lived in several other states since then, including Nevada and North Carolina, according to the U.S. Marshals Office. By Wednesday evening, Hart was on her way to the Wayne County Jail, where she will be turned over to the Michigan Department of Corrections to serve out her original sentence and face new charges for her escape, said Batcheller.

"Even after 38 years, the victim's family has finally been able to get some closure, at least as far as this fugitive is concerned," said U.S. Marshal Robert Grubbs.

5 Suicide Bomb Attacks Hit Somalia, Al-Shabaab sent 30 bombers to Hargeisa on Oct. 17, 5 Stolen Land Cruisers car bombs to kill Jew & US collaborators

MOGADISHU, Somalia — Five suicide car bombers, using stolen Toyota Land Cruisers, attacked government and United Nations sites in northern Somalia on Wednesday, killing at least 21 people. The attacks shattered the rare sense of calm that had existed in a few corners of the country. The car bomb attack "warning" was posted on the Al-Shabaab website on October 17th.. 12 days before the attack - An internal document shows that Somalia's new Islamist rulers (Al-Shabaab) have decided to send suicide bombers to the neighbouring peaceful self-proclaimed state of Somaliland. Their aim is to topple the elected Hargeisa government. Witnesses said the suicide bombers were driving late model Toyota Land Cruiser SUVs (Prado) which go for approx. $38,000 each. Stolen cars shipped in from Dubai to the local used car lot, same scam as in Iraq, different country. See my prior posts on al-Qaeda using stolen vehicles for car bombs in Iraq and India. 1993: Ali Mohamed Sets Up Nairobi Cell with used car lot; Trains Somalis to Fight US Troops; Bin Laden asks double agent Ali Mohamed to set up an al-Qaeda cell in Nairobi, Kenya, to support al-Qaeda operations against the US intervention in the neighboring country of Somalia that year. He does so, setting up a cell of a dozen operatives. He creates a car business, a fishing business, and sells scuba diving equipment, luxury automobiles, and diamonds to create income for the cell, and a charity organization to provide operatives with documents. The cell will later plan the 1998 embassy bombings in both Nairobi and nearby Dar es Salaam, Tanzania (see 10:35-10:39 a.m., August 7, 1998). He also helps trains Somali clansmen in the months leading up to a battle in Mogadishu that will kill 18 US soldiers,

African Union peacekeepers from Burundi are patrolling Mogadishu, the capital of Somalia, a country battered by civil war. The suicide bombers struck within half an hour in Hargeisa, the capital of breakaway Somaliland, and Bosasso, in Puntland, said Faisal Hayle, a security official in Mogadishu for the transitional government of Somalia.

Several buildings were leveled by the attacks, which Somali officials quickly labeled the work of Islamist terrorists. The bombers struck between 10 and 10:30 a.m., first attacking in Hargeisa, long considered the safest city in Somalia. They struck the Somaliland presidential palace, an Ethiopian Consulate office and a United Nations office there. The Somaliland president, Dahir Rayale Kahin, who spoke to the BBC Somali service, said that his secretary and his adviser had been killed in the attack on the palace and urged people to cooperate with the police.

Suicide bombers "heading for Somaliland", afrol News / Awdal News Networ, 17 October 2008; An internal document shows that Somalia's new Islamist rulers (Al-Shabaab) have decided to send suicide bombers to the neighbouring peaceful self-proclaimed state of Somaliland. Their aim is to topple the elected Hargeisa government. The Islamists (Al-Shabaab) have already staged violent demonstrations in Somaliland to destabilise the government. In a decision signed by Sheikh Dahir Aways of Al-Shabaab, the most radical leader of the Mogadishu Islamists, and a copy of which has been received by 'Awdalnews Network', the Shura Council of the Union of Islamic Coutrs (UIC) decided to send 30 young assassins to Hargeisa as suicide bombers to kill what they called the Jewish and American collaborators.

"We will take our orders from Sheik Osama bin Laden because we are his students."Merging with Al Qaeda operatives in the region makes sense, he said, given the recent U.S. crackdown, including a May 1 airstrike that killed ShabaAb's previous commander. “There are groups like this one that associate with al-Qaida through Web sites that help promote the ideology, help find new recruits and help the effort to support terrorism,” Warner said in a Tuesday Columbian story by Courtney Sherwood. “It’s not freedom of speech. This site should not be hosted in Vancouver WA, USA". The Al-Shabaab are murdering savages under the control of Al-Qaeda and they openly run a website in Vancouver WA, USA.

UPDATE..Cleric held over Somali car bombs, Sheikh Mohamed Ismail, in a raid in the capital, Bosasso. Most of the casualties were in Hargeisa, where the presidential palace, Ethiopian consulate and UN offices were targeted. Eyewitness: 'Terrible day' ;In Puntland, six intelligence officers were killed in their offices after two suicide attackers struck. Authorities in Hargeisa are following a couple of leads including the house where the bombs were assembled and the mart where the cars used were purchased (Stolen cars shipped in from Dubai to the local used car lot, same scam as used in Iraq), our correspondent says. These were the first suicide attacks in the two relatively stable regions.
On February 29, 2008, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice designated al-Shabaab (aka al-Shabab, aka Shabaab, aka the Youth, aka Mujahidin al-Shabaab Movement, aka Mujahideen Youth Movement, aka Mujahidin Youth Movement, aka MYM, aka Harakat Shabab al-Mujahidin, aka Hizbul Shabaab, aka Hisb’ul Shabaab, aka al-Shabaab al-Islamiya, aka Youth Wing, aka al Shabaab al-Islaam, aka al-Shabaab al-Jihaad, aka the Unity of Islamic Youth) as a Foreign Terrorist Organization under Section 219 of the Immigration and Nationality Act (as amended) and as a Specially Designated Global Terrorist under Section 1(b) of Executive Order 13224 (as amended).
The consequences of these designations include a prohibition against the provision of material support or resources to al-Shabaab and blocking of all property and interests in property of the organization that are in the United States, or come within the United States, or the control of U.S. persons

Al Qaeda blamed for 5 Somali car bombs, Al-Shabaab drove Land Cruiser SUVs, Anti-terror officers targeted Bossaso.

A string of suicide bombings targeting government buildings and a United Nations compound in Somalia left at least 58 people dead Wednesday in attacks a U.S. official said bore hallmarks of the al Qaeda terror network.

Several U.N. employees were among the dead after three car bombers attacked U.N. offices, the Ethiopian consulate -- where dozens were lining up for visas -- and a presidential palace in Hargeisa, capital of Somaliland.

About the same time, suicide bombers struck anti-terror police in the port city of Bossaso killing at least six people, including four of the officers, a local journalist who witnessed the aftermath said. U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs Jendayi Frazer said Wednesday's attacks in Somalia "have the markings of an al Qaeda attack."

Gen. Ade Muse, the leader of Puntland state -- a semi-autonomous region of northern Somalia where Bossasso is located -- said his government has knew who was behind the attack and planned to release photos of suspects.

Somalia, which has been without a central government since 1991, is in the throes of an Islamic insurgency led by militant group Al Shabaab, which the United States says has links to al Qaeda. Al Shaabab is trying to gain control of the country and oust Ethiopian troops backing forces loyal to Somalia's transitional government.

Wednesday's trio of suicide car bombings in Hargeisa was a rare and apparently coordinated attack in relatively peaceful Somaliland, an autonomous region of northern Somalia. Somaliland President Dahir Rayale Kahin said 19 people were killed in the three attacks in Hargeisa, including his personal secretary. Earlier, a hospital nurse in Hargeisa put the death toll at 50.

Those killed include two U.N. staff members who died when a suicide car bomber was able to penetrate two security rings at the U.N. Development Program's compound in Hargeisa before detonating, a U.N. spokeswoman in Nairobi, Kenya said. At approximately 10 o'clock this morning the UNDP compound in Hargeysa, Somaliland, was hit by an explosion, caused by a vehicle which forced entry into the compound," the U.N.'s Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs said in a statement. Witnesses said the suicide bombers were driving Toyota Land Cruiser SUVs.

Khawaja guilty on terror charges, Khawaja links to Mohammed Junaid Babar and the "Network" of al-Muhajiroun in Queens NY and London UK.

Mr. Khawaja and co-conspirators, the day after Khawaja’s arrest in Ottawa, Khyam and five others, Anthony Garcia, Shujah Mahmood, Waheed Mahmood, Jawad Akbar, and Salahuddin Amin were arrested in London (see photo above) they had had interactions with “core” al-Qaeda figures. The testimony of three witnesses, Mohammed Junaid Babar, Ms A. and Ms Zeba Khan, sheds this light on the term ‘Jihad’ in the Muslim world.

The evidence makes it clear that in the case of Momin Khawaja and those he associated with in the London area Khyam group, and those he connected with in relation to the northern Pakistan training camp, ‘Jihad’ meant a violent struggle with the objective of establishing Islamic dominance, wherever possible. Khawaja’s ideology emerges in detail in a number of his email communications, a number of which are seen below.

Mohammed Junaid Babar, it should be noted, was brought to Ottawa to testify, in custody, by U.S. federal authorities. He was arrested in the U.S.A. following the arrests in Operation Crevice in the U.K., and entered ‘guilty’ pleas in District Court in New York to 5 counts of providing material support or resources to a foreign terrorist organization, namely, al Qa’eda. Facing a maximum possible prison term of 70 years, and even the possibility of being extradited to face trial in Pakistan in relation to a conspiracy to assassinate its President, Babar agreed to truthfully and completely disclose all his information concerning the inquiries made by the Department of Justice, and to truthfully testify before any grand jury and court that the Department requested. Babar was still facing sentencing under this arrangement when he testified before this Court. He (Babar) said his most optimistic hope was that he might be freed from custody sometime next year, but knew there were no guarantees. Not withstanding these circumstances under which he presented his evidence, he was not seriously challenged by the defense on any material fact, nor was it argued that his evidence is unreliable.

Mohammad Momin Khawaja is a trained terrorist, a terrorist financier and terrorist bomb-builder, a judge ruled this morning, but there was not sufficient evidence to find the suspect knowingly plotted to blow up British targets.

Following a landmark legal marathon, Mr. Justice Douglas Rutherford convicted Mr. Khawaja, laying out the reasoning in a 58-page verdict. The Canadian-born al-Qaeda sympathizer was found guilty of the seven terrorist offences he was charged with, though not always to the full extent of what the Crown had alleged.

Mr. Khawaja, a 29-year-old Ottawa resident, was arrested in 2004 while working at his day job of fixing computers for Canada's Foreign Affairs Department. He is only the second man to be convicted under the Anti Terrorism Act, which was passed specifically to cast a wide prosecutorial net after 9/11..... Read: The judgment (pdf)

“One wonders why terrorists like [the British cell members of al-Muhajiroun, see photo above ] would share details of such a fertilizer bomb plot with a foreigner like Khawaja, unless it was necessary to do so, and it wasn't,” writes Judge Rutherford in his ruling. “He seemed willing to help any way he could. Ask him to send money? He did. Ask him to take supplies to … Pakistan? He did. Ask him to build a remote detonator device? He did, or was well into a work in progress.
See my prior post, Wednesday, June 11, 2008, WHAT IS AL-MUHAJIROUN ? WHO IS AL-MUHAJIROUN? WHERE ARE THE AL-MUHAJIROUN SLEEPER CELLS IN NY? As Judge Rutherford pointed out, Mr. Khawaja largely established his mindset with his own words, as written in his intercepted emails (which appear below as they were written); “I always wanted to be a soldier, cuz when I was like five yrs old me mum and I would read story about Ali radiAlla Anhu and how he chopped off the head of Marhab the kafir [infidel] and about jihad and stuff,” reads one of Mr. Khawaja's emails cited by Judge Rutherford.

Another read: “When the kuffar amreekans invaded Afghanistan that was .. the most painful time in my whole life … it would tear my hear knowing these filthy kaafir dog Americans were bombing our muslim bros and sisters … Shaykh Usama bin laden is like the most beloved person to me in the whole world, after Allah.”

Such emails were exchanged with members of a U.K. terrorist cell (photo above) whom Mr. Khawaja fell in with first on the Internet (al-Muhajiroun), using terms borrowed from Gangsta rap as they expressed common hopes of kicking out what they saw as infidel armies from what they saw as Muslim lands. See my prior post, Tuesday, September 09, 2008, Prosecutor: Canadian Man Involved in British Terror Plot was 'Mortal Enemy' of the West. Mohammed Babar of Queens NY gives testimony on Momin Khawaja.

On March 29, 2004, as British police prepared to raid addresses in the U.K., RCMP officers stormed the Khawaja family home in Orleans, Ont., seizing three assault rifles (one scope and one bayoneted), 640 rounds of ammunition, $10,000 in cash and literature with titles such as Defence of the Mulsim Lands, Decisive Battles of Islam, and The Martyrs of Bosnia.

Also seized was the “Hi-Fi Digimonster” (click to see photo)– a prototype circuit-board detonation device built by Mr. Khawaja that was intended to remotely set off a bomb. The defence immediately sought a publication ban on this evidence, as several members of Mr. Khawaja's family publicly complained the Mounties were racists and that the family was wrongfully targeted simply because they were Muslims.

Eighteen months ago, five members of the British cell were sentenced to life in prison for plotting bombings. During that verdict, it was publicly revealed that Scotland Yard had noted some unarrested co-conspirators, who went on to become the suicide bombers who killed 52 people riding trains and subways in London. He was found guilty of contributing to a terrorist group, by building the Hi-Fi Digimonster and showing the British cell prototypes of it during his three-day trip to London.

He was also found guilty of what Judge Rutherford called the “basket charge” of facilitating terrorism. Despite all of this, the judge parsed the two counts involving allegations Mr. Khawaja wanted to blow up Londoners.
