According to investigators, the suspect had been in a previous romantic relationship with one of the victims in Fort Lauderdale, Larisa Blyudaya, 46, and that victim was connected to the Sarasota County victims. Fort Lauderdale police have identified two victims in a double homicide connected to the shooting deaths of five people at a Sarasota home, while the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office has released the names of four victims and the suspect found dead at the scene. SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) - Five people were shot and killed inside a home off of Proctor Road Tuesday afternoon, the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office said Wednesday. The shootings are also believed to be related to a double homicide in Fort Lauderdale, the sheriff’s office said in a news release. Deputies say 911 operators got a call at 12:24 p.m. saying an adult male at a home in the Amberlea neighborhood had been shot. Deputies arrived minutes later at the home near Proctor and McIntosh roads and found the victim in the front yard with neighbors performing CPR.

Neighbors also said the victim’s wife was possibly inside the home. Deputies were able to move the male victim where he could be treated by the Sarasota County Fire Department, the news release said. The victim was pronounced dead a short time later. Deputies entered the house and found the bodies of two men and two women.

As detectives worked at the scene, they were advised the Fort Lauderdale Police Department was investigating a double homicide believed to be related to the Sarasota shootings. “Based on preliminary information, we know that the suspect had been in a previous romantic relationship with one of the victims in Fort Lauderdale,” the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office news release said.

“That victim was connected to the victims in Sarasota. The suspect’s motivation for targeting the Sarasota victims is unknown.”  Fort Lauderdale police say their subject’s vehicle was captured on camera after the double homicide traveling north through Punta Gorda before the Sarasota killings.

The sound of gunfire was captured shortly after on a neighbor’s Ring camera. About 37 minutes later, the male victim, who was found in the front lawn, was seen on video entering the neighborhood in his vehicle. The victim approached the front door where he was shot. No one was seen entering or leaving the residence until deputies arrived. The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office said Wednesday that all victims have been identified, and the suspect was among the deceased inside the residence.

This footage is just before the original video shared, with the individual approaching Nancy Guthrie’s front door. On Tuesday, law enforcement released still images and surveillance video of an armed man (heavy set white male) captured on a Nest camera outside the 84-year-old’s Catalina Foothills home front door. The images show a masked man at Guthrie’s front door wearing a jacket, gloves, pants, holstered gun, and carrying a backpack. In one photo, the man appears to be holding something in front of the camera.

The armed man at Guthrie’s front door uses  a"cheap universal nylon style" cowboy type holster made for a revolver, he uses it to house a semi auto pistol, not a guy proficient with handguns, LOL. Most likely the gun is the Russian Makarov semi-auto pistol with curved grip, they have been readily available in the USA for decades. I knew as soon as I saw the photos that the gun the kidnapper had was most likely a Russian semi auto Makarov style pistol, as I have had one for over 25 years.

Look, if the victim of a single kidnapper (like man in photo) is 18 or 80 you darn well know there is going to be a struggle, you do not break into the house with your gun hanging loosely from your belt in front of you where the victim could grab it. Expert analysis (and me) suggests the suspect may be inexperienced with firearms because the semi-auto pistol is being carried in a holster designed for a much larger weapon, likely a long-barrel revolver. The Russian pistol Makarov PM is fairly heavy and that is why it appears to hang in the photo at an awkward angle.
