For those of you who are unaware, there a 5 strategic military bases located in the Florida Panhandle. Iran has established a significant military footprint in Venezuela, focusing on drone production. From the Pensacola Naval base to Eglin Air Force Base to Hurlburt Air Force Base, (both very near Fort Walton Beach Fl), to the Naval Station in Panama City Beach and to Tyndall Air Force Base which is 10 miles from Panama City Fl. All these military bases are near or on the Gulf shoreline and near heavily traveled tourist destinations, it is 150 miles from Pensacola to Tyndall AFB.

I am originally from Panama City Fl, I did a lot of work as a vetted contractor on Tyndall AFB, I had full access, 24-7, to all areas even the flight line. Tyndall AFB has never done anything like this 500 buffer zone around the base, even during the Iraq War! I understand this will affect some members of our local community, and I appreciate their cooperation and understanding as we take these required measures to safeguard our personnel and mission.”

Iran has supplied its CM-90 anti-ship cruise missiles—an export variant of the Iranian Nasir missile—to the Venezuelan military, where they were officially unveiled and stationed at naval bases as of April 2024. The CM-90 is a short-range, 50 mile range, radar-guided missile designed for small vessels and coastal defense, significantly boosting Venezuela's maritime strike capabilities.
