IS THIS WHY THE FLORIDA BRITONS JAMES KOUZARIS AND JAMES COOPER WERE KILLED IN NEWTOWN?

SUNDAY APRIL 24th 2011....James Kouzaris and James Cooper gunned down in Newtown; DEVASTATED couple told "News Of The World" last night how they discovered the bodies of two British tourists gunned down in a Florida ghetto - just feet from their front door.  Carlos Martinez, 28, and his girlfriend Gina McKinney, 32, heard shots ring out as they listened to music in the early hours.

They went outside and found James Kouzaris, 24, and James Cooper, 25, lying in pools of blood, surrounded by spent cartridges. Kouzaris was curled up by the front wheels of Carlos's car. His pal was across the road. Both were dead.  Last night Carlos said: "They must have seen the lights on in the house and were running towards us for help.  "It really hurts me that they didn't get here as if they had reached the door I'd have let them in and they'd still be alive."  Police are investigating how Kouzaris and Cooper ended up on the Newtown estate in Sarasota at 2:56 a.m...MORE FROM THIS SOURCE

British tourists James Cooper and James Kouzaris shot dead in Florida may have been lured into an ambush after being driven to the crime plagued area of Newtown, Sarasota police believe.

1). Saturday April 16, 1:23 a.m. last known images of British tourists James Cooper, 25, and James Kouzaris, 24, are taken by a security camera at Smokin' Joes bar on Main Street Sarasota.
2). Saturday April 16, 2:10 a.m. police believe the pair, James Cooper, 25, and James Kouzaris, 24, are last seen at the Gator Club on Main Street Sarasota where there is always a cab parked outside the Bar, no need to walk anywhere.
3). Saturday April 16, 2:56 a.m. Calls to 911 report that Cooper and Kouzaris are lying dead on a street in The Courts Public Housing neighborhood gunned down by black thug Shawn Tyson.

IS THIS WHY THE FLORIDA BRITONS WERE KILLED?  THE downtown area of Sarasota where James Cooper and James Kouzaris spent their final hours will be familiar to thousands of British holidaymakers. It’s an easy-going place where visitors and locals mingle in the cluster of bars and restaurants.

Above all it’s a safe district where the most police have to deal with is the occasional outbreak of rowdiness, fuelled by a few too many beers combined with the region’s legendary all-year-round sunshine. Head directly north through Sarasota’s grid-patterned streets, however, and the atmosphere changes for the worse. First there’s the city’s business centre, then the offices give way to smart homes. After a mile and- a-half you’ll reach Newtown. By day the atmosphere is unwelcoming, at night it’s downright dangerous and considered a no-go area for outsiders.

Shawn Tyson, a dysfunctional teenager who reportedly has the street nickname Young Savage tattooed across his chest, has been charged with the killing of the two Britons.  Newtown is a district that one man in Sarasota knows better than most. Bill Warner is a veteran private investigator who has called this area his patch for almost 20 years. “It’s horrible,” he says. “At any time of day there are drug deals being done and guys acting as spotters on the look out for police. There is a lot of crime and it’s not a nice place to be. You don’t go there at night, period. If I have to do surveillance work in Newtown I always carry a weapon.”

Bill Warner has his own theory, that the friends may have been the victims of a honey-trap, deliberately lured there by women. Police have traced two women seen on CCTV talking for 37 minutes to the Britons in Smokin’ Joe’s bar in the hours leading up to the shootings. Detectives stress they are not suspects but there’s still a gap between that time and the men leaving the downtown area.

Bill Warner says: “In my opinion this was a set-up. They were enticed there and the motive was robbery. Earlier in the bars around Main Street they were going from table to table talking to women. The kid the police have charged (SHAWN TYSON) is just a goon, a high school dropout. He is not the brains of this operation. They probably got shot because they ran or resisted.

“The area where these guys died is off the beaten track. You don’t just wander in there (on foot). I’m sure they were driven there.”  Witness reports suggest that a gang of masked men were lying in wait for the Britons. The shootings have caused shock in Sarasota where, the mayor points out, there hasn’t been a murder this year.  Officials are nervous about the impact on tourism. There’s huge pressure to secure a conviction and reassure would-be visitors that this was just a tragic, one-off incident.

Recently a crackdown on crime in Newtown was spearheaded by Peter Abbott, a no-nonsense police chief recruited from New York. However he left his post controversially last year amid claims he wasn’t doing enough to build bridges with ethnic groups in north Sarasota.

“It’s ridiculous because he was doing a good job,” says Warner, who fears the investigation to catch other culprits in the murders will be hampered by a wall of silence. Police have released CCTV images from the bars and a transcript of an emergency call made by a woman who saw the victims following the shootings. In the call she can be heard saying: “We saw a white dude laying, there is blood everywhere. He is laid out. I don’t know if he is dead or not.”
Despite numerous shots being fired police have said they received only one emergency 911 call. Bill Warner says: “In Newtown there is a no snitching rule. You don’t talk to the cops. The police will get little help from the community.” The Second Line Gang is the most notorious. It took street violence to a new level in Newtown, where people call each other by nicknames from childhood and families go back several generations.

In an eight-month period a few years ago the gang, which took its name from the lyrics of a rap song, was blamed for killing six people, doubling the city’s murder rate. The callousness of some of the killings shows the disregard for life among these hardened criminals. Gang members shot and killed a grocery clerk over a $300 gold chain, killed a dental assistant driving by a robbery and in the middle of the day in a crowded parking lot gunned down a US marine reservist outside a convenience store.

However a sustained police operation led to several leaders being jailed in OCT 2010, supposedly weakening the gang’s influence in Newtown which is one of the poorest areas of Southwest Florida...MORE FORM THIS SOURCE

Sarasota's Newtown Second Line Gang Then and Now, Murder Incorporated.

Does the murder of the two British Tourists, James Cooper and James Kouzaris, in the Courts Public housing along North Orange Avenue indicate a resurgence of gang activity in Newtown, Murder Incorporated.

MIRROR UK,,,,Newtown is a breeding ground for violence and gangs, it is a no-go area not just for tourists, but others residents of the city of Sarasota Fl. One said he wouldn't go there unless he was in "an armoured vehicle with a .50 calibre machine gun". Yesterday few of the Newtown residents wanted to talk to the Mirror, with one woman shouting menacingly: "You'd better leave now or there will be trouble." One of the few who would talk was James Harris, 28, who has lived on the NEWTOWN estate for two years.

He said: "If you end up here you will spend the rest of your life trying to get out. This ain't a good place to be but when you've got no money and got no prospects it is a roof over your head. I feel sorry for those guys who got killed, but they should not have been here. This ain't no place for tourists."

A few doors from where the tourists were shot dead, a 31-yearold woman said she lived in permanent fear. Too afraid to give her name, she said: "This place is a living hell. Once people know you come from Newtown they do not want to know you. You are branded as scum." Just over a mile down North Orange Avenue and you are in downtown Sarasota. Each weekend the bars and restaurants are packed with holidaymakers and well-dressed locals.

British tourists James Cooper and James Kouzaris were murdered in the Courts Public housing along North Orange Avenue, they were then apparently ambushed by Shawn Tyson, 16, a gang member called "Young Savage".

In Sarasota, an effort to rein in the gangs. By Anthony Cormier (HeraldTribune.com) September 10, 2010 SARASOTA – A four-year investigation has resulted in Sarasota police charging six members of a notorious street gang with racketeering, saying the members of Second Line were responsible for murders, robberies and home invasions on Sarasota city’s north side and Newtown.

Second Line Gang in Newtown arose in 2006, when its members were only 15 and 16 years old (Murder suspect Shawn Tyson is 16). At the time, Sarasota police officers were responding almost nightly to robberies and shootings on the north side. Ringling College of Art and Design students were robbed near campus. An elderly woman was rolled into a carpet during an attack. And a man was dragged inside his home after he returned from work.

Police thought they knew the culprits but witnesses, and victims feared retribution, (NO SNITCHIN).  Investigators worked individual cases, such as the four murders linked to Second Line members, while a gang detective focused on the organization as a whole. Detective Laster compiled criminal histories on each member and worked with prosecutors from the state to establish "predicate" offenses -- such as dealing drugs or committing a robbery -- that would show an ongoing criminal enterprise.  The arrest affidavits have been sealed because authorities say the information could tip off other targets or reveal the names of witnesses.
"This is an ongoing case and there are other suspects," said Capt. Paul Sutton. The Second Line Gang members charged with racketeering are: DeAndre Tunstall, 20 (Young Savage tattoo), also in jail in a murder case; John "Chico" Stephens, 19, serving a prison sentence for murder; brothers Torrey, 21, and Xavier Eldridge, 20; Davon Gordon, 23; and Gary Wilder, 21.

As per Sarasota police department "Second Line Gang" leader DEANDRE ‘D’ TUNSTALL has "Young Savage" tattoo on his forearm. Murder suspect Shawn Tyson's street name is Young Savage and he has the Young Savage tattoo on his chest as per the Daily Mail.  Both  DeAndre Tunstall and Shwan Tyson are from Newtown.

In St Pete Florida black gang members have killed 3 Police Officers since the start of 2011, will this trend work it's way down to the Newtown section of Sarasota Fl.  St Pete-Tampa Cop Killers Hydra Lacy, ”Lil Nik” Lindsey and Dontae Morris are all Gang Members did UHURU leaderJoe Waller aka Chairman Omali Yeshitela's “Right to Resist" program influence these gang bangers?

UHURU MOVEMENT in St Pete Fl urges "Africans to Resist the Police",  A 16-year-old Florida boy faces a first-degree murder charge in the shooting death of a police officer in St. Petersburg Florida after resisting arrest.

The death of Officer David Crawford represented the third time in less than a month that a law-enforcement officer was killed in the city of St Pete by a black gang member. Police said they have charged Nicholas L. Lindsey, a sometime student in the Pinellas County school system.  Nicholas "Lil Nik" Lindsey was a gang member of the "Bethel Heights Boys Gang" in South St Pete.

Every state and major city in the United States is plagued with local, loosely structured, street gangs that are mainly motivated by drug sales. Historically, disruptive incidents in the Florida State Prisons have been based on the geographic origins of the inmates involved (e.g., Miami gang inmates vs. Tampa gang inmates).

These local groups form based on common interests and a sense of loyalty to individuals from their city, neighborhood, street, or housing complex. They adopt generic names such as, Second Line, Players, Bethel Heights Boys Gang, Posse, Crew, Mafia, Gang, and Bad Boys and attach their particular street or avenue name to it.

Although they are loosely structured and tend to conduct their illegal activities in a specific location (Newtown), they are extremely violent and develop bitter blood rivalries.  Often the group evolves, and adopts an alliance with a national street gang such as the Bloods, Crips, or Chicago-based Folk Nation and People Nation sets and use their symbols and identifiers. This graduation in gang involvement often occurs in county jails, prisons, and juvenile facilities.

This increases the importance of tracking the development of gang membership while inmates are in custody. Tracking enables DC to notify local law enforcement of new members or of any changes in a member's affiliation.

Hundreds of these local gangs have been identified in every city from Pensacola to the Florida Keys. This includes small rural towns, upper middle-class neighborhoods, schools, and other areas where we tend to deny gang existence.

Gang Tattoos and Symbols; Tattos of the initials BGF along with crossed sabers, shotguns and black dragons taking over prison towers may be a sign of membership to the Black Guerilla Family, a gang started by a former Black Panther that promotes black revolution.

Look for black or blue tear drop tattoos under the eyes this usually indicates the number of people someone has killed.  You can search a known gang member with the Florida Department of Corrections website to get a better idea of the specific gang tattoos that occur in your area.

Florida Statutes 874.03 says a criminal street gang is a formal or informal ongoing organization, association, or group of three or more persons who have: A common name or common identifying signs, colors, or symbols.  Members or associates who individually or collectedly, engaged in or have engaged in a pattern of youth and street gang activity such as fighting, vandalism, murder, and drug sales.

Did Mob Boss Whitey Bulger Die in a Costa Rica Hospital? Who Gets the $2 Million Reward If He Did, Boston Herald Wants to Know?

April 21st 2011 9:00 am BOSTON HERLAD NEWS...$2M question: Has Whitey departed? Pssst, pass it on – Boston underworld czar Whitey Bulger’s bum ticker recently gave out in Costa Rica, and his longtime gal pal Catherine Greig had his remains cremated.

Here is the official statement from the Boston FBI office, as delivered by Special Agent Gregory Comcowich:“The FBI has no credible information to indicate that Bulger is deceased. Until the FBI receives credible verified information that he has died, the FBI will continue its fugitive investigation.”

Man, those G-men must have bigger expense accounts than Trump’s P.I.’s in Hawaii. Needless to say, his old mates were somewhat less than distraught about the rumors of his death, no matter how unfounded they may be.

Back in February of this year I posted an article about Mob Boss Whitey Bulger being in a Hospital, "James ‘Whitey’ Bulger could be hiding out in Ireland or he could be next to death lying in a hospital bed in the USA". Posted: February 19, 2011 by pibillwarner in crime and terrorism.

I had received a series of frantic calls in February 2011 from a man who claimed he knew that Whitey Bulger was in a Hospital and was near death, he would not tell me where this Hospial was located, he wanted me to contact the FBI for reward payment.

Over a 3 day period in February 2011 this guy told me that Whitey Bulger had gone into a Hospital for an operation on his legs and that there had been some sort of complication that affected his heart and that he eventually died.
It appears that Whitey Bulger had been using a walker for support and had gone into the hospital for corrective work, most likely knee problems at his age.  My contact went on to report that Whitey Bulger had also had some 'plug work' and his hair line did look like the FBI enhanced photo and that Bulger also had problems with his upper teeth and had them pulled and replaced with an upper plate, all problems that people above the age of 65 start to experience.

My contact went on to state that he was calling from somewhere in the USA (blocked phone call) but that I could be in the city were Bulger was Hospitalized within 2 hours,  I am in Sarasota Fl a flight to Costa Rica takes about two hours.  The contact stated that Whitey Bulger was of course registered in this hospital under the assumed name he has been using for years.

February 19, 2011 "James ‘Whitey’ Bulger could be hiding out in Ireland or he could be next to death lying in a hospital bed in the USA".

I questioned the contact about how was Whitey Bulger paying for his "operation" at the Hospital, did he have insurance under his assumed name, the contact answered that Bulger was paying cash.

My contact also went on to state that Whitey Bulger's brother William had been contacted and had been to the Hospial before Whitey Bulger died, this was prior to February 19th 2011.

Brits James Cooper and James Kouzaris searching for a meal in the early hours in Sarasota missed a turn it cost them their lives, so claims Daily Mail, don't buy it.

DAILY MAIL UK NEWS REPORTS; Florida Britons searching for a meal in the early hours missed a turning. It cost them their lives.  The two British tourists shot dead in a Florida ghetto could have made a fatal wrong turn while walking to a 24-hour diner for an early morning breakfast, police said yesterday.

Detectives are exploring an innocent but increasingly compelling explanation of just how James Cooper and James Kouzaris could have ended up on a run-down estate after a night out in the upmarket resort of Sarasota. Captain Paul Sutton admitted that detectives had previously ignored ‘lifestyle differences’ between Britons and Americans and assumed the tourists would never have dreamed of trying to get around on foot.

The Gator Bar, the last venue that police believe the pair visited early on Saturday morning, is just 1.5miles away from a branch of IHOP, a popular 24-hour diner chain and one of the few places in the city to get food at that hour.  Captain Sutton said the IHOP was a popular early-morning destination for drinkers after the city’s bars close at 2am.

THERE AIN'T NO IHOP DOWN THIS ROAD

I happened to be in the lobby of the Sarasota Police Department yesterday when 3 British reporters were badgering Captain Paul Sutton with their "theory" that Brits James Cooper and James Kouzaris would have walked the 1 1/2 miles from downtown Sarasota to the IHOP on the corner of 12th Street and Rte 301 (N. Washington St), this was the theory of the 3 British reporters NOT Captain Paul Sutton.

Sarasota Police Department Captain Paul Sutton tried to explain to the British reporters that their is public tranportation (taxi) always sitting near the Gator Club to take anyone home or anyplace else, world travelers James Cooper and James Kouzaris would have been accustomed to using public transportation.
Sarasota Police Department Captain Paul Sutton also explained to the 3 British reporters that it was still failry hot at night, about 73 degrees, and such a walk to the IHOP would not have been very comfortable.

The theory of the 3 British reporters was that "The IHOP is on 12th street while the men eventually turned off on 21st street. It is possible that they confused the digits for the two streets",  this is not true, the murder scene is off of Carver Street that travels into Carver Crt where the actual shooting of James Cooper and James Kouzaris took place (see map above).

SARASOTA HERLAD TRIBUNE April 20th, 2011 According to an eyewitnesses, the bodies of Brits James Cooper and James Kouzaris were found about 40 feet apart on opposite sides of Carver Court in Sarasota, Fla.

21st Street is 3 more blocks North of Carver St, if James Cooper and James Kouzaris were looking for 21st Street they would have continued walking North on N. Orange Ave past 17th Street, 18th Street, 19th Street, Carver St, 20th Street and so on, they would not have turned onto Carver Street, and they DID NOT turn on 21st Street.

The British reporters obviously did not walk the supposed route, they also did not bother getting into a vehicle and driving up N. Orange Ave to see where the actual crime scene was.  James Cooper and James Kouzaris, if they were "wandering" around on N. Orange Ave looking for the IHOP, would not have turned off of N. Orange onto Carver St. looking for a IHOP.

Carver St. is clearly marked on the corner of Carver and N. Orange (see photo above) with a NO TRESPASSING SIGN and a WARNING THIS AREA PATROLLED BY UNDERCOVER POLICE OFFICERS”, real nice neighborhood. The Daily Mail article is nonsence.

Sarasota Herald Tribune Published "Newtown’s violent Second Line Gang", British Newspapers Quote; “violence was so bad many residents stopped wearing jewelry in public for fear of being robbed.”

SARASOTA HERALD TRIBUNE, Tuesday April 19th, 2011.  "Sarasota Realtor Shannon Moore said she has received more than half a dozen calls from clients, with some expressing doubts about owning a property in Sarasota. “The British press is killing me,” said Moore. “I’m getting swamped with people from the U.K., from Canada saying, ‘What’s going on in Sarasota?” She cited one Daily Mail online story that spoke of a crime wave in Sarasota whenviolence was so bad many residents stopped wearing jewelry in public for fear of being robbed.”

The story also quotes an anonymous blogger who writes: “The Courts public housing project is a cesspit. There are drug dealers and hookers openly plying their trade at all hours.” The Mirror, another British tabloid, reports that the two were lured into a car and “taken to a gang of killers in a deadly ambush.”"It’s not like everyone is walking around carrying semi-automatic weapons,” Moore said. “That would be the impression I get reading the British papers.”Virginia Haley, president of the Sarasota visitors bureau, said her office has been monitoring news coverage and reaching out to United Kingdom customers in the aftermath of the shooting. “We have to make sure we’re not dealing with crazy rumors,” Haley said Monday.

CRAZY RUMORS ? Well here is a reality check for the Sarasota Herlad Tribune, Virginia Haley and Sarasota Realtor Shannon Moore, those British Newspapers are quoting an article published just 6 months ago in the Sarasota Herald Tribune about Newtown’s violent “Second Line Gang” who were packin semi-automatic weapons doing robberies and killing people, see below;

Sarasota Herald Tribune Published: Monday, October 11, 2010. SPECIAL REPORT: Newtown’s violent “Second Line Gang” (with “Young Savage Tattoo”).   For months, Second Line gang members armed with semi-automatic guns roved the Newtown neighborhood at night, looking for somebody to stick up. In 2008 and 2009 they took street violence to a new level in Newtown, a one-square-mile collection of homes and apartments where people call each other by nicknames from childhood and families go back three and four generations.

Twelve people were shot and killed in and around Newtown in the two-year period from February 2008 to February 2010. Gang members are either suspected, charged or convicted in eight of those homicides. At its peak, the gang violence was so bad that many residents stopped wearing jewelry in public for fear of being robbed.  Police responded with an increased focus on gang activity that led to two murder convictions against key members of the Second Line gang.

Second Line Gang members killed six people, police say, in one eight-month period. They shot and killed a grocery clerk over a $300 gold chain. They shot and killed a dental assistant who happened to drive by a robbery. And in the middle of the day in a crowded parking lot, they shot and killed a U.S. Marine reservist outside a convenience store.

In my capacity as a private investigator I am often doing Insurance Fraud and Workers Comp Fraud cases in the general vicinity of Newtown and the North Side of Sarasota Fl.  Let’s get real here, the Newtown area of MLK Blvd has drug dealers and look-outs on bikes stationed on about every other street corner ready and willing to make a deal or to signal a nearby drug house if Five-O comes down the street, this happens at 10:00 am or 10:00 pm 24/7. Newtown Murder Suspect Shawn Tyson Is Member Of Violent "Second Line Gang" Who Wear Black Ski Masks and Use Semi Automatic Weapons During Armed Robberies.

Shawn Tyson, who lives in Newtown Public Housing with his mother, has been charged with double murder of British Tourists James Cooper, 25, and James Kouzaris, 24 who were shot in the back, Shawn Tyson faces the death penalty if convicted.

Shawn Tyson, a school dropout who has the street nickname of “Young Savage” and a tattoo bearing the same words on his chest, had been arrested earlier this month after allegedly shooting at a car, but was released from a juvenile detention centre after witnesses failed to show up to give evidence at a court hearing….NO SNITCHIN.

The "Young Savage" tattoo that Shawn Tyson has on his chest is the gang tag of the violent Newtown Second Line Gang, it was also used by DeAndre Tunstall who has a ”Young Savage Tattoo” on his forearm and was the ringleader of the renegade Second Line Street Gang before he ended up in the Florida State prison system for 2nd degree murder.

SARASOTA HERALD TRIBUNE ARTICLE. Published: Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at 4:01 p.m.  Tourism officials defend Sarasota.  In yesterdays Sarasota Herald Tribune article the reporter indicates that the British Press is overstating the murder of two British tourists with over the top headlines and misrepresentation; "In their coverage of the slayings of two British tourists here, newspapers in England describe Newtown as a "ghetto" and refer to the killings as a "gang ambush. Under a bold headline "Gunned down in the Ghetto," the British tabloid known as the Daily Mail devoted its entire front page to the weekend shootings of James Cooper and James Kouzaris in Newtown. The crime also drew prominent, sometimes salacious, coverage in other British national newspapers and in TV and radio broadcasts. The grisly stories have forced Sarasota city officials into into full damage-control mode to protect the city's reputation as a sunny, sandy tourism haven.

Mayor Kelly Kirschner spoke on BBC radio during early-morning hours. In Britain, a PR company is working to combat the storyline "that a pair of British tourists were slaughtered after being lured into a car and taken to a gang of killers in a deadly ambush," as one British newspaper reported. "We're seeing these sensational stories coming out of some of the British tabloids that this is a gangland type of thing and rampant violence," Kirschner told BBC radio.

Brit Tourists Murder Suspect Shawn Tyson Has "Young Savage Tattoo" He Is Member of Violent Newtown/Sarasota "Second Line Gang" Who Do Robberies With Semi-Automatic Guns.

Shawn Tyson was arrested for the murder of James Kouzaris and James Cooper.
THE TELEGRAPH UK..Family of Britons shot dead in Sarasota Florida deny they had gone to buy drugs.  On Tuesday it emerged that the 16-year-old charged with both murders had been out of custody for less than 12 hours when he gunned them down, having been held over an earlier shooting.

Poignant last photos of the pair taken in a bar just hours before being killed were released by the police in the hope it will prompt witnesses to come forward. The photos were recovered from a camera found near the dead bodies.

As police continue to investigate what the men were doing there, and how they got there, Mr Cooper’s grandfather, Desmond Walton, said his grandson, a high flying tennis coach, would never have considered taking drugs.  Detectives have also ruled out any drug link, but continue to be stumped by what exactly happened.

They are working on a theory that having spent a night drinking in Sarasota they accepted a lift from someone and believed they were being driven 12 miles to their rented apartment in Longboat Key. Instead they were taken to Newtown and “ambushed” in a violent street robbery. Residents reported hearing between six and eight shots and it is possible there was more than one gunman.  “There is every indication that this was an attempted robbery,” said police spokesman Captain Paul Sutton.

Shawn Tyson, who lives on the estate with his mother, has been charged with double murder and faces the death penalty if convicted.  Tyson, a school dropout who has the street nickname of “Young Savage” and a tattoo bearing the same words, had been arrested earlier this month after allegedly shooting at a car, but was released from a juvenile detention centre after witnesses failed to show up to give evidence at a court hearing. NO SNITCHIN............

MIRROR UK NEWS...The teenager accused of killing two British pals in Florida was released on bail hours before the murder. Shawn Tyson, 16, was freed from a juvenile detention centre on Friday afternoon, April 15th, 2011 because witnesses had failed to appear in court. NO SNITCHIN....Ten hours later he allegedly shot dead tourists James Cooper, 25, and James Kouzaris, 24, in a bungled robbery in Sarasota. Tyson – who calls himself "Young Savage" – had been held by police for eight days after being accused of firing a gun at a gang rival’s car.

Detectives say they have found no evidence to suggest that the pair had been trying to buy drugs. Although cash was found on the Britons’ bodies, sources in the Newtown neighbourhood said they had been lured into an ambush by masked gunmen.

Sonja Seymour, who lives on the street where the men were found in the early hours of Saturday, said: ‘I heard that when they arrived here there were already some people waiting for them. They were wearing masks, (just like Newtown's violent "Second Line Gang" does).

Twelve people were shot and killed in and around Newtown in the two-year period from February 2008 to February 2010. One of them carried an assault rifle, taking aim at Anderson from a vacant lot across the darkened street.  Someone yelled "Get down!" and a bullet came so close Anderson could hear it hiss through the air. He was carrying a large black bag, and as two more shots rang out he dropped it and ran for cover, sprinting around the corner of a house.

Anderson, a barber, watched the robbers rummage through the bag that contained the tools of his trade -- scissors, razors and several dozen pairs of electric trimmers. Anderson recognized the tallest one as DeAndre Tunstall who has a "Young Savage Tattoo", ringleader of the renegade Second Line Street Gang.

Tunstall was wearing a dark ski mask -- the same kind of ski mask that became a trademark of Second Line in the summer of 2006 as if he wanted Anderson to know who was taking his money. "I'd been cutting his hair since he was 6 years old," Anderson would later say. "Of course I knew who he was. Everybody knows that fool."

Sarasota Police Department. DEANDRE ‘D’ TUNSTALL
Black/Male....SENTENCED TO LIFE
DOB 02/19/90
6’1” height 160 lbs.
2728 Palmadelia Avenue
Tattoos of CUT THROAT and YOUNG SAVAGE on forearms.

Second Line members killed six people, police say, doubling the city's murder rate in one eight-month period. They shot and killed a grocery clerk over a $300 gold chain. They shot and killed a dental assistant who happened to drive by a robbery.
And in the middle of the day in a crowded parking lot, they shot and killed a U.S. Marine reservist outside a convenience store. Tunstall, 20, is in jail on a murder charge, scheduled for trial next month. As he watched from his hiding place that night in February 2008, Anderson knew he was not going to let the gang get away with robbing him. Anderson, 36, who grew up in a tough Chicago neighborhood, was the first person to shoot back at Second Line, but his retaliation only led to more violence.

Getting Second Line off the streets would take help from people all over Newtown. In a county where most people are from somewhere else, Newtown is a place where folks stay put. When someone is shot in Newtown, no one waits for the news to find out what happened. Crowds form at the crime scene tape and cell phones chirp all over the neighborhood.

If a man is shot one night in a fight that started over a few hundred dollars, as happened in June, it is a safe bet that people walking down MLK the next morning will know about it. How much of that information makes it to the police depends on what happened, and to whom. Residents intent on staying out of criminal court have long frustrated the police's efforts to make arrests. A gang member shooting a drug dealer is the kind of crime that causes people everywhere to shake their heads but seldom inspires witnesses to come forward.

But the Second Line Gang committed crimes that got Newtown residents to cooperate with police and sign their names on witness statements. The gang started as a group of teenagers trying to impress older gangs like the Two-Four Boys, which took its name from its 24th street stomping grounds. Two-Four was known for selling crack cocaine, but not for violence.

Second Line lifted its name from the lyrics of New Orleans rapper Juvenile. "Second line" is a parade term for the partiers who follow a band as it passes down the street, and the rapper used it as a name for his followers. Now, if ya at dat second line dem boys got a gun, You better run for it, run for it, run The group adopted colors: red and black. A few got "Second Line" tattoos (and "Young Savage"), and all of them set out to impress the older, more established gangs.

Instead of selling drugs, Second Line Gang stole money. The gang was linked to four home invasion robberies in the summer of 2006 and moved on to robbing drug dealers who carry large amounts of cash. They spent the loot at the mall, wearing their colors as they shopped for the latest Nike sneakers. Some of the older members hung out in topless bars and dated strippers.

A few sold crack cocaine, but none of them were regular users. They stuck with
smoking marijuana and taking Ecstasy. On the street, Second Line member Davon Gordon says people would do an about-face and walk away when they saw the gang coming. "We were it," says Gordon, a wiry 23-year-old with braided hair and tattooed arms. "Dudes were afraid of us and girls wanted to be with us. Second Line was the thing."

As they grew in stature, they grew in numbers. There were only a dozen or so members but police documented more than 50 other people who hung out with Second Line. While the gang was new to detectives, its reputed leader was not. Tunstall and his family had been on the police radar for years and by the fall of 2006, most of Newtown knew the name of the gang -- and of the tall, gold-toothed teenager who would become its most recognizable member.

In December 2005, at the age of 15, Tunstall was branded a juvenile delinquent by state authorities -- the juvenile equivalent of being a convicted felon.  A month later he was arrested after crashing a stolen ATV into a police car. Tunstall was wearing a dark ski mask -- the same kind of ski mask that became a trademark of Second Line in the summer of 2006, when the gang was suspected in a series of home invasion robberies.

Photograph Shows Brit James Cooper at Smokin Joe's Pub Sarasota Wearing What Appears An Expensive Watch Before Shot In The Back At Newtown Ghetto.

This photograph shows James Cooper having fun at Smokin’ Joe’s Pub on Main Street Sarasota Fl, that looks like an expensive watch on his left wrist . A few hours later he was gunned down alongside his university friend James Kouzaris in a rundown area of Sarasota, Florida.

Brits James Kouzaris and James Cooper were set up by someone they met in the Sarasota bars who drove them to the Carver Street area off of N. Orange Ave deep in the Newtown Ghetto and shot both of them to death, this appears to have been a robbery set-up.

James Kouzaris and James Cooper were out on the town on Main Street in Sarasota Fl on Friday night April 15th, 2011, and it appears that they came in contact with somone who inticed them to get in their vehicle at about 3:00 am.

DAILY MAIL UK….The family and friends of two British holidaymakers who were shot dead in a Florida backstreet have denied the pair were trying to buy drugs. Liz Clare, who dated Mr Kouzaris, 24, for three years, told the Evening Standard: ‘I just can’t understand why they were there. They’re not stupid……James Kouzaris and James Cooper were set up by someone they met in the Sarasota bars.
‘I was with [James Kouzaris photo above] for three years and he was so cautious. We used to call him grandad because he was so cautious. ‘My biggest fear is what people might think about why they were in a dodgy area. Some people are saying there might be a link to drugs but everyone who knows them both knows it would never be that.

James Cooper’s grandfather, Desmond Walton, said: ‘He never did drugs. He did not even smoke – he hated people who smoked. ‘He was a professional tennis coach. Taking drugs would be the last thing on his mind.’ It comes after the last pictures taken of the two friends the day before they were murdered were revealed.

James Kouzaris and James Cooper were “good time” pals who had visited bars and pubs all over the world and appeared to have girlfrinds everywhere they visted as per their Facebook pages.  On James Kouzaris Facebook page he lists one of his favorite places as the Beach Club on Siesta Key Fl, just South of where they had been staying.

The 16-year-old charged with murdering the two Britons, Shawn Tyson, was freed by a judge two weeks ago after he was arrested over an armed robbery. Shawn Tyson, who allegedly shot Mr Cooper and Mr Kouzaris, was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon following that incident.

However as it was his first offence he was released from custody while police investigated the case. Shawn Tyson will now be charged as an adult and, if convicted of first-degree murder of the two Britons, could face the death penalty.  Police investigators were last night trying to piece together how the two university friends were murdered in a gang-ridden neighbourhood of Newtown in the city of Sarasota.

16 year old Shawn Tyson did not have a car nor was he in any of the Main Street bars in Sarasota Fl on Friday night, but he was waiting for James Kouzaris and James Cooper when they arrived by car at Carver Street off of N. Orange Ave deep in the Newtown Ghetto.

Someone drove James Kouzaris and James Cooper the 1 1/2 miles from the Main Street bars to Carver Street off of N. Orange Ave deep in the Newtown Ghetto.

Somone called ahead and tipped off Shawn Tyson and his pals that he had James Kouzaris and James Cooper in the car and was heading for Carver Street off of N. Orange Ave deep in the Newtown Ghetto.

James Kouzaris and James Cooper did not just wander into the Newtown Ghetto, they were driven there under some other pretext, robbery appears to have been the motive, not a drug sale.

Nigeria Stolen Car Ring Busted in Jacksonville Florida Stolen Cars Trucked From Miami to Jax-Port Blount Island Terminal For Export As Certificate of Destruction Cars.

Two South Florida men were sentenced Monday, April 4, 2011, in federal court in Miami for aiding and abetting in the attempted smuggling of stolen motor vehicles from Jacksonville to Nigeria.

According to court documents, starting in February 2007, Omorose began receiving stolen vehicles from unknown individuals. In an effort to conceal the stolen nature of the vehicles, the vehicle identification numbers (VIN) were removed. The VINs were replaced with VINs from totaled or destroyed motor vehicles (CD cars) with the same make, model, and approximate year as the stolen vehicles purchased from CoPart on-line Certificate of Destruction Cars Auto auctions in Tampa and Miami.

Following the alteration of the VINs, Omorose made arrangements for his co-defendant, Dennis Edward Joseph (Joseph), to export the vehicles from Jacksonville, Florida to Nigeria. Joseph owned Cargo Maritime Services, Inc. (CMS) and used his company to make arrangements for the stolen vehicles to be brought to the JAXPORT Blount Island Terminal.

As part of the scheme, Omorose used various fraudulent documents, to include bills of sale and certificates of destruction cars that included the VIN fraudulently placed on the stolen vehicles. He also used various identities when making export arrangements.

Joseph, through CMS, arranged to have ten stolen vehicles exported from Jacksonville to Nigeria on behalf of Omorose. U.S. District Judge Marcia Morales Howard sentenced Osarobo George Omorose, 43, of Miami-Dade County to 18 months in prison, while 50-year-old Dennis Edward Joseph of Miami was sentenced to 180 days of house arrest and three years of probation, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

Omorose also was ordered to pay $75,548 in damages to 14 victims. The pair pleaded guilty last October.  Omorose began receiving stolen vehicles. He hid their origins by removing the vehicle identification numbers and attaching new ones from totaled or destroyed cars of the same make, model and approximate year. Omorose worked with Joseph to export the vehicles from Jacksonville to Nigeria via the latter’s company, Cargo Maritime Services.

Ten stolen vehicles were to come to the JaxPort Blount Island Terminal with fake documents including bills of sale. But authorities intercepted all 10 after a joint investigation by U.S. Customs and Border Protection, the FBI and Florida Department of Law Enforcement.
