MOROCCO SAYS IT FOILS PLOT AIMED AT TOURIST HOTELS, THE PLOT WAS SIMILAR TO THE "MARRAKECH BOMB PLOT" IN 2002, 2003 CASABLANCA BOMBINGS.

RABAT, Morocco — Moroccan security forces foiled a terrorist plot to attack tourists this summer, in what has become a "near-daily" struggle to root out extremist cells increasingly linked to al-Qaida in Iraq, a top security official said Friday.

(The plot was similar to the "Marrakech Bomb Plot" in 2002 were three Saudi Arabian men, accused of being part of an al-Qaeda cell, were found to have plotted to blow up a cafe in the Moroccan tourist destination of Marrakech, and attack tourist buses. The three men, Abdullah Mesfer Ali al-Ghamdi, 22, Zouhair Hilal, 26, and Hilal El-Assiri, 31, were convicted on charges of attempted murder, attempted sabotage with the use of explosives and belonging to a "criminal organisation". The Moroccan wives of two of the men were sentenced to six months in prison for their part in the plot. Three other Moroccans received sentences ranging from four months to one year. All three Saudis admitted under interrogation that they had been trained in the use of weapons and explosives at al-Qaida camps in Afghanistan and Pakistan).

Abdelhak Bassou, head of
Morocco's Renseignements Generaux domestic intelligence agency, told The Associated Press in a rare interview that four separate terrorist cells have been broken up so far this year. He said one of those groups, with 11 militants arrested in May, was preparing attacks "planned for this summer" in a plot aimed at tourist hotels in Morocco, which is a largely moderate Muslim kingdom and strong U.S. ally.

The country has seen a rise in radical
Islam in recent years, and the government has jailed hundreds of suspected militants since a string of bombings killed 45 people in 2003. Bassou said authorities had broken up "about 30 cells" over the past five years and predicted they would dismantle "another three or four" radical cells during the rest of this year. "At this point, it's become near-daily work," he said.

(In 2002, "Explosives on plane were bomb plot" French police have said explosives found aboard a Royal Air Maroc plane were part of a failed bomb plot and not just a provocation. Customs officials using sniffer dogs found the stick of explosives in between two passenger seats after the Boeing 747 had landed in eastern France. Police are still at a loss as to who secreted the 100-gram stick of explosive, wrapped in aluminium, aboard the flight to Metz-Nancy airport from Marrakesh Morocco.)

The investigations have revealed extremist networks that extended from

Europe to the al-Qaida terror operation in Iraq, he said. Most of the Moroccan cells support al-Qaida in Iraq via militant bases in neighboring Algeria, channeling cash, weapons and combatants, he said.

Three of the four alleged cells currently being prosecuted were focused on supporting insurgents in
Iraq and had smuggled "some 30 to 50 (Moroccan) fighters" into that country, Bassou said. "We have to continue to anticipate," he said, adding that the threat also comes from "loose elements" of one or two individuals who plan small attacks on their own. Some 1,100 alleged Islamic radicals are now behind bars, either convicted of terrorism charges or awaiting trial.

Bassou said a "huge improvement" in cooperation between Arab and Western intelligence services has helped limit terrorist attacks since the 9/11 assault on the U.S., but he said another factor is that many al-Qaida loyalists are focused on the war in Iraq. "It doesn't mean they wouldn't blow up a bus of tourists here if they have the opportunity," he said.

But the fact that al-Qaida is relying on many support cells in North Africa for fighters, money and guns is a sign that it is losing ground in Iraq, Bassou said. "If they don't show results, I don't give them five more years of existence," he said, contending that al-Qaida needs victories in Iraq to attract new recruits in the Arab world. Still, Bassou warned, the focus of Islamic extremists could easily shift closer to home, in Europe and North Africa, if al-Qaida in Iraq collapsed.

( Al-Qaeda, Osama bin Laden’s terrorist organisation, driven out of Afghanistan and defeated in Iraq, is re-emerging in strength in three alternative safe havens for training, operational planning and recruiting – Pakistan, Somalia and Algeria – according to Western intelligence and defence sources. )

"It would become more dangerous, we'd have less visibility," he said. Bassou estimated 3,000 Moroccans are "imbued with jihadist creeds," with a similar number of sympathizers. Many rights activists, Islamist politicians and even some intelligence experts say Morocco's tough security crackdown, though efficient in preventing large attacks, could radicalize some members of Morocco's legal Islamic parties.

Bassou said that arrests are made on solid intelligence and that evidence includes money transfers, weapons and violent propaganda on computers or discs, as well as confessions. "Should we wait for people to execute their attack before we arrest them?" he asked. (Like the 2003 Casablanca bombings).

Beating Victim (Bryan Steinhauer) Lawyer Blasts Website Hate on Facebook, Irwin Rockman will not even comment of the antisemitic hate E-mail in support of Serb basketball player Miladin Kpvacevic!

It's a quick reaction to the story Fox 40 News in Binghamton NY ran Tuesday night -about hateful comments on the internet, sympathetic to Miladin Kovacevic. The lawyer of the alleged victim of the former Binghamton University basketball player is reacting to the facebook support group which was shown in the report:

The facebook group "DO NOT EXTRADITE MILADIN KOVACEVIC" started up just a few days ago and has already attracted more than 1300 members--On the site are numerous postings in support of Miladin Kovacevic and bashing his alleged beating victim Bryan Stienhauer.

Fox 40 spoke with Stienhauer's lawyer's Irwin Rockman on Wednesday --and his response was simply that the website's contents "aren't even worth a comment." VIEW VIDEO

The American ambassador to Serbia said Wednesday ,7/16/08, brutally beaten college student, Bryan Steinhauer, was in grim shape and implored the Serbian government to hand over the hulking fugitive charged in the case. Bryan Steinhauer of Brooklyn "weighs less than 99 pounds and is unable to eat" or speak, Ambassador Cameron Munter said in a stinging statement. "He remains in a coma after 2-1/2 months." Munter was countering recent reports in the Serbian media that suggested Steinhauer, 22, was in good condition after he was pummeled on May 4 at a Binghamton University bar, allegedly by Miladin Kovacevic. "This was not an ordinary bar fight," the ambassador said. "As he lay on the floor, Steinhauer was repeatedly kicked in the face and head, to the point where he had multiple fractures on both sides of his face and his skull."

EXAMPLES OF HATE E-MAIL THAT I RECEIVED FROM MY POSTINGS ;
1). No cameras in the bar? No cellphone videos? Nobody had an iphone? BS. Why believe one over the other? Steen-Berg-feld-hauer must have watched too many Jewlywood movies, and think he can fight a Serbian bear. He messed him up pretty bad. Nerd probably got hit once, and was out. Kovacevic, like all Serbs, was mad about Kosovo. We like to get a chance to beat the crap out of this jew. Their lobby in DC gets money from Albanians to steal Serbian land.

2). miladin kovacevic is pride of serbia and ratko mladic and ratko karadzic kosovo is serbi hope that there will be more people like miladin kovacevic.

3). KOSOVO IS A HEART OF SERBIA. MINJA YOU ARE OUR HERO, YOUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS WILL NOT GIVE THAT AMERICANS TURN YOU BACK IN USA. (my english is not so good, sorry, but I hope everyone understand what I want to say)F**k that "poor jewish guy".

Statement of Imran Raza Regarding Release of American Children From Pakistani Taliban Madrassa
Posted by Evan on July 10th, 2008
(Atlanta, GA) - Imran Raza, the director and executive producer of the documentary “Karachi Kids” who discovered up to 80 American children in a Taliban-backed madrassa in Pakistan released the following statement regarding the return of two American children to Atlanta: I am grateful for the safe return of the two American children from Atlanta from a Taliban- backed madrassa but the mullah claims to have up to 78 more in his institution. The headmaster comes to the United States once a year and personally recruits American children to enroll in his madrassa.

This is just the first step in integrating these children back to American society. I am proud we did our part so we could say ‘Welcome Home.” It is imperative that Members of Congress and the State Department undertake an accounting of just how many Americans are in the other 20,000 madrassas in Pakistan. Hundreds remain behind.

The Karachi Kids is a documentary about American children in the Jamia Binoria madrassa in Karachi Pakistan. A trailer of the film is available at

SERBIAN BASKETBALL PLAYER SOUGHT IN ASSAULT ON FELLOW STUDENT

Serbian basketball player sought in assault on fellow student. (Mom Branka claims jail abuse and torture in Binghamton Jail)

NEW YORK (CNN) -- A fight over a woman at a college bar between a Serb-born basketball player and another man who was left in a coma -- has ignited a diplomatic crisis between Belgrade and Washington. Miladin Kovacevic, BU basketball player. Serbia agreed to cooperate in the case of Miladin Kovacevic, fled the USA June 9th after he was charged in the May 4 assault of fellow BU student at a bar in Binghamton, NY.

The fight started in the early am May 4, when Bryan Steinhauer, 22, tried to dance with the girlfriend of one of Kovacevic's friends. Witnesses said Kovacevic, who is 6-foot-9, 280 pounds, kicked the 5-foot-6, 130-pound Steinhauer repeatedly in the head as he lay on the ground. Three men, including Kovacevic, were charged with assault and gang assault and held on $100,000 bail, according to police.

Kovacevic, who had been recruited to play basketball for the university, managed to flee the United States after his mother flew to New York to post bail and a Serbian consular official provided him with a temporary passport.

See CNN video here as the Steinhauer & Kovacevic parents speak out on Serbian athlete sought in assault on fellow student.

My client has told me he did not flee the country to hide from the justice system," said Veselin Cerovic, the Kovacevic's family attorney. "He does not believe in the justice system in the United States." Kovacevic's parents said their son was threatened and disdained because of his nationality and they felt they had to rescue him, that is why the Serbian athlete is sought in assault on fellow student (end CNN report).

The FOLLOWING bizarre statements of Branka Kovacevic are so totally distorted and fabricated to be down right laughable, BUT since she is a well known Doctor, her husband is a well known Doctor linked to the Serbian Government and to the Police and their attorney is internationally known "the lawyer, Veselin Cerovic, for brawler Miladin Kovacevic is familiar with defending thugs - his rogues' gallery of a client list includes the "Butcher of Belgrade", Slobodan Milosevic", that the International Press is going to believe her and think the Broome County Jail in Binghamton NY is another Abu Ghraib.

The Kovačevićs said that they have been threatened and pressured and that they are afraid for their son and daughter’s lives. Branka Kovačević, who was in America at the time of the incident, added that no one informed her officially as a parent that her son had been taken into prison for participating in a bar fight, but that they were notified of it through friends. She also said that her son, who was a student at New York state’s Binghamton University, experienced “serious torture“ while in prison, after being thrown in with “the worst criminals“, and received death threats.

Branka also told reporters that Miladin was also not allowed to talk to a lawyer, (he refuesd to talk to anybody) and decided to leave the U.S. after receiving threatening phone calls, adding that he is currently “in his place of residence”. “We realized that we had to go. It was better to die on the way or disappear together (Miladin & Branka) than to disappear over there, (USA)” she said...... (which is a lie !)

THE TRUTH..May 7, 2008 article "It is a difficult case because the man we have arrested, Miladin Kovacevic, has a lawyer, Veselin Cerovic, and is not talking to us and we can't at this time talk to the victim," Detective Lt. John Chapman of the Binghamton Police Bureau said. Police are interviewing people who were in the bar and had not determined whether others were involved in the incident (on Sunday morn May 4th), he said. Kovacevic had already left the club when Binghamton police arrived. He eventually was discovered on the Binghamton University campus and detained by campus police until Binghamton detectives arrived to take him into custody, police said. He was booked at 2:42 a.m. Sunday May 4th and sent to the city lockup, where he remained until his arraignment Monday morning in city court. He was sent to the Broome County Jail without bail, not State Prison. Miladin Kovacevic had run-ins with the cops in Kula and Novi Sad Serbia before he came to Binghmaton NY, his mother Branka and the high priced Serbian Criminal Defense Attorney Veselin Cerovic had kept him out of jail see here.

Miladin Kovacevic (who speaks 4 languages) knew the deal when he was arrested on May 4th 2008, don't talk to the cops and lawyer up, he did and he had International criminal defense lawyer Veselin Cerovic on speed dial, funny, I thought he was a college basketball player.

The disgraced diplomat who helped a Serbian jock flee the U.S. after the vicious beating of a Brooklyn student skulked into his homeland - facing criminal charges. The diplomat, absent since hulking hoopster Miladin Kovacevic jumped $100,000 bail with his help, was fired for issuing an illegal emergency passport to the SUNY-Binghamton student, a source told the Daily News.

Vice Consul Igor Milosevic was swayed by a mother's tears, he said to a high-ranking Serbian government source - although they will investigate whether a bribe was also involved. Milosevic caved after Branka Kovacevic began "crying and begging" for help in springing her son from charges of stomping a classmate into a coma in an off-campus bar. "He kept on saying he succumbed to the pressure," the source said. "She was really upset and worried." The diplomat, described as in his early 30s, issued the passport after traveling with the mother to bail her son out of the Broome County jail, Kovacevic was released on June 6 when his parents posted the $100,000 bail through the Serbian consulate's office in New York City. Branka Kovacevic, a psychiatrist, said she urged her son to flee the U.S. after he was bailed out "because it had become a media circus where his voice was not being heard."

See Broome County bail receipt and partial Binhamton police report at this link, click here.

Branka Kovacevic caused this whole international incident.

See additional Video here, as Branka and Petar Kovacevic, the parents of Miladin Kovacevic, speak out with their point of view..

According to her (Branka), Steinhauer has since left the hospital with his condition improving (not true). Kovačević’s parents claim that the reporting in the American media about their son and the fight at the student bar “is not based on the real events“ and that Steinhauer “started the conflict by attacking the girlfriend of one of Miladin’s friends“. During an interview last week, Kovacevic's mother, Branka, accused the family of the beating victim, 135-pound Bryan Steinhauer a Jewish college student from Brooklyn NY, of exaggerating the extent of his injuries to collect more insurance money. (What the hell?)

The lawyer, Veselin Cerovic, for brawler Miladin Kovacevic is familiar with defending thugs - his rogues' gallery of a client list includes the "Butcher of Belgrade", Slobodan Milosevic.

Veselin Cerovic - who has also defended Serb mobsters and neo-Nazi skinheads - says he is only working to uphold his country's laws. "I was very proud because I helped to defend Slobodan Milosevic in the Serbian courts," the brute's lawyer said.

Several neo-Nazi groups are based in the Kula & Novi Sad area of Serbia where Miladin Kovacevic is from. In 2006, Cerovic defended Predrag Milovanovic, an anti-Semitic youth who brutally attacked Israeli tourist Jariv Avram and his Serb girlfriend at a rock concert in Belgrade.

SIX KILLED IN ATTACK ON US CONSULATE IN INSTANBUL, ONE ATTACKER CARRIED A SYRIAN PASSPORT.

Six killed in attack on US consulate in Istanbul, named Islamic militants are the three dead gunmen as Raif Topcil, Bulent Cinar and Erkan Kargin. All were Turkish citizens. Television stations had earlier reported one attacker carried a Syrian passport.

Police cordon off the US Consulate in Istanbul, where three policemen and three gunmen were killed in an armed attack.

ISTANBUL // Four assailants carrying pistols and pump guns attacked a police post in front of the heavily protected US consulate in Istanbul yesterday morning, killing three policemen before three of the attackers were killed and one escaped.
Investigators quoted by Turkish media said the attack may have been an attempt by Islamic militants to drive a vehicle laden with explosives into the consulate building.
It was the most serious incident involving a diplomatic mission in Turkey since a series of bombings left 62 dead in 2003.“They knew they were not going to get in,” Muammer Guler, the governor of Istanbul province, told reporters hours after the gunfight, which started at about 10.30am and lasted for about two minutes.
Authorities and witnesses on the scene said at least three of the four men stepped out of either a grey or white Ford Focus in front of the consulate in Istinye, a district in the European, or western, side of Istanbul.
They went straight to a police post outside the main gate of the consulate and opened fire on the policemen on duty.“They shot one policeman in the head,” a witness told Turkish television. Other policemen shot back, killing three attackers.
The fourth assailant fled in the car, the state prosecutor, Aykut Cengiz Engin, said. He described the attackers as between 25 and 30 years old.News reports said police in helicopters looked for the car in Sariyer, a district close to Istinye.
Mr Guler said police were studying pictures from traffic cameras. Footage from a security camera showed four armed and bearded men emerging from a car and killing a traffic policeman, then running toward a guard post 50 yards away as other policemen fired back, the Dogan news agency reported.
Officials said one policeman died at the scene, while the two others died in a nearby hospital. Two more policemen were wounded in the shooting. Turkish media said police had identified the three dead gunmen as Raif Topcil, Bulent Cinar and Erkan Kargin. All were Turkish citizens. Television stations had earlier reported one attacker carried a Syrian passport. The attackers had been trained in Afghanistan in recent years, officials were quoted as saying.
By last night, the attack was widely being attributed to al Qa’eda. Police believe the car was stuffed with explosives.“Turkey will fight against those who masterminded such acts and the mentality behind it till the end,” said Abdullah Gul, Turkey’s president, in a televised statement.
“Everybody has already seen terrorism would not serve anything.”The attack is the latest in a string of bombings and shootings in Turkey in recent years attributed to various groups including Kurdish separatists, leftist groups, right wing groups and al Qa’eda.
In 2004 a visit by George W Bush, the US president, sparked a series of attempted attacks. In one incident, four people died in an explosion on a bus in Istanbul; a leftist group said one of its members was carrying a bomb to attack US interests and it exploded prematurely.Security measures at western embassies and consulates in Turkey had been stepped up after militants killed more than 60 people in four attacks on the British consulate in Istanbul, a branch of the British bank HSBC and two synagogues in the autumn of 2003.
The British consul was killed in the attacks, which were the deadliest terrorist attacks in Turkey. The US consulate in Istinye, which opened in June 2003, is heavily fortified and surrounded by security gates and a high wall. The consulate was moved there after diplomatic missions around the world stepped up security following the Sept 11 2001 attacks in the US.Even if the attackers had succeeded in getting past the Turkish guards, it would have been almost impossible for four men to successfully attack the consulate building with light weapons, police said.

MOM BRANKA CLAIMS MILADIN KOVACEVIC WAS TORTURED WHILE IN "PRISON" AT THE BROOME COUNTY JAIL IN BINGHAMTON NY.

Kovačević parents claim son is innocent

BELGRADE -- The father of Serbian student Miladin Kovačević says that his son is innocent of the charges he is wanted for by the U.S.

Branka Kovačević, Veselin Cerović, Petar Kovačević (photo L to R).
Petar Kovacevic along with wife Branka and Miladin's lawyer Veselin Cerovic, spoke in a news conference in Belgrade today. He said that his son tried to separate students who were fighting in a bar in New York state and did not “hit or kick Bryan Steinhauer,“ who was seriously injured.
Miladin was arrested over the assault and released on bail before he fled the U.S. and returned to Serbia. Kovačević’s parents today claimed that reports filed by local police at the scene prove the innocence of their son and that the help which the Serbian Consulate-General in New York provided for their son was “in accordance with the law.“
She said that her son, who is a student at New York state’s Binghamton University, experienced “serious torture“ while in prison, after being thrown in with “the worst criminals“, and received death threats.
Branka also told reporters that Miladin was also not allowed to talk to a lawyer, and decided to leave the U.S. after receiving threatening phone calls, adding that he is currently “in his place of residence”. “We realized that we had to go. It was better to die on the way or disappear together than to disappear over there,” she said.
According to her, Steinhauer has since left the hospital with his condition improving. Kovačević’s parents claim that the reporting in the American media about their son and the fight at the student bar “is not based on the real events“ and that Steinhauer “started the conflict by attacking the girlfriend of one of Miladin’s friends“.

"As he lay on the floor, Steinhauer was repeatedly kicked in the face and head, to the point where he had multiple fractures on both sides of his face and his skull."
"Our son interfered to separate those who took part in the fight," Petar Kovačević said, adding that Steinhauer, who was drunk at the time, attacked Miladin, who in turn "pushed him away". According to him, Miladin is depressed over everything that has happened. The family attorney, Veselin Cerović, who spoke in the same news conference, said that "any possibility of Miladins's extradition has been ruled out", since there is no legal ground for this.
Cerović said that a U.S. embassy official in Belgrade he spoke to could not tell him what the charges against his client are. He added that there is no description of the act that Kovačević is blamed for, that witness testimonies are contradictory, while "the whole case is gaining huge proportions because of political statements". My client told me that he did not flee to hide from justice, but because he doesn't believe in the American justice system," lawyer Veselin Cerovic told reporters in Belgrade. Cerovic also claimed his client, 20-year-old Miladin Kovacevic, was subjected to "torture and disdain" while in police custody in Binghamton, N.Y., saying inmates and guards called the player a "damned Serb."
The bizarre statements of Branka Kovacevic are so totally distorted and fabricated to be down right laughable, BUT since she is a well known Doctor, her husband is a well known Doctor linked to the Serbian Government and to the Police and their attorney is internationally known "the lawyer for brawler Miladin Kovacevic is familiar with defending thugs - his rogues' gallery of a client list includes the "Butcher of Belgrade", Slobodan Milosevic", that the International Press is going to believe her and think the Broome County Jail in Binghamton NY is another Abu Ghraib.

PRESSURE MOUNTS ON FUGITIVE STUDENT MILADIN KOVACEVIC, HIS ATTORNEY HAS DEFENDED SERB MOBSTERS AND NEO-NAZI SKINHEADS

Pressure mounts on fugitive student
9 July 2008 10:34 Source: B92

BELGRADE -- Miladin Kovačević’s lawyer VESELIN CEROVIC claims that the warrant for his client’s arrest is not substantiated with any evidence.
Veselin Cerović also said that the legal status of Kovačević, who is wanted by the U.S. authorities for assaulting a fellow student, was not in any jeopardy.

The lawyer for brawler Miladin Kovacevic is familiar with defending thugs - his rogues' gallery of a client list includes the "Butcher of Belgrade", Slobodan Milosevic.

Veselin Cerovic - who has also defended Serb mobsters and neo-Nazi skinheads - says he is only working to uphold his country's laws. "I was very proud because I helped to defend Slobodan Milosevic in the Serbian courts," the brute's lawyer said.

Cerovic said that Kovacevic, a fugitive basketball player who allegedly pounded classmate, Bryan Steinhauer, 22, from Brooklyn to near-death at a Binghamton bar last May, would never return to the United States for a trial, (see Kavacevic's INTERPOL international "Red Warrant" poster, click on photos above, when will the Press admit that this is a Hate Crime).

The American ambassador to Serbia said Wednesday ,7/16/08, brutally beaten college student, Bryan Steinhauer, was in grim shape and implored the Serbian government to hand over the hulking fugitive charged in the case. During an interview last week, Kovacevic's mother, Branka, accused the family of the beating victim, 135-pound Bryan Steinhauer a Jewish college student from Brooklyn NY, of exaggerating the extent of his injuries to collect more insurance money. (What the hell, because their Jews ?) She said that her son, who is a student at New York state’s Binghamton University, experienced “serious torture“ while in prison, after being thrown in with “the worst criminals“, and received death threats.

Interpol issued a “red warrant” for Kovačević’s arrest who is charged with “crimes against life and health”. That warrant means that Kovačević cannot leave Serbia, as otherwise he will be arrested and deported to the United States.

Cerović told B92 News that it was unusual for a “red warrant to be issued in such a case. He said that his client had gone through hell while in custody. "Initially he was insulted on a national basis, as a Serb, that he was a Serb monster who had beaten up a fellow student.

"He was badly abused by both prisoners and prison officers alike,” Cerović said (this appears to be a lie) . Law Professor Milan Škulić said that the Serbian authorities would have to act in line with the Interpol warrant and arrest Kovačević. However, Serbian laws do not allow extradition of a Serbian citizen to a foreign country, so the only logical solution, according to Škulić, would be to try Kovačević in Serbia. "I think that for him, it would be best for such proceedings to start here as soon as possible, because Serbia’s judicial system allows for our laws to be applied even for offenses committed abroad. And that is the most realistic solution.

Then, it will be up to our courts to deliver the verdict that would be most appropriate,” explained Škulić. Former ambassador to Washington Milan St. Protić said that the vice-consul had committed a misdemeanor, and that Serbia’s reputation had been severely damaged. "He lied to the court, and escaped from the country with the help of a Serbian diplomat who thus became an accomplice. He is now facing criminal charges in the U.S.,” said Protić. Meanwhile, pressures from U.S. senators continue to grow.

New York Senator Charles Schumer said that Washington would send an official request to the Serbian authorities for Kovačević’s extradition to the U.S.

"JIHAD AND MARTYRDOM NOW" CALLED FOR ON AL-QAEDA WEBSITE TODAY WITH THE USE OF VBIED's, THE SITE HAD BEEN HOSTED IN PHOENIX AZ.

"JIHAD AND MARTYRDOM NOW" CALLED FOR ON AL-QAEDA WEBSITE TODAY, CLICK ON IMAGE.

The Web site, www.ek-ls.org ,which was shut down in Phoenix AZ in Feb of 2008, facilitates discussions on weapons, explosives and propaganda and often serves as a question-and-answer center for terrorists, calling for recruits as suicide car/truck bombers.
Note the large trucks that al-Qaeda is using as a Vehicle Born Improvised Explosive Device – (VBIED). in the video above. Don’t think that the VBIED, which may sound like typical army jargon, simply describes a car bomb. From the buses that are commandeered into causing mass accidents (Israel) to boat bombs (USS Cole) and even the airliners (9/11) used as WMD’s, the VBIED can come in many forms. As all security professionals know, we should think the unthinkable when it comes to terror in general but especially so with a VBIED.

The site includes video casts of an American tank being bombed, messages from al-Qaida leaders and forums in which terrorist acts are openly discussed, according to the Middle East Media Research Institute, a Washington, D.C.-based non-profit group that tracks and translates Islamic Web sites."The Web site has ideological and operations functions. . . .

There is information about explosives, training, security and technology," said Eli Alshech, director of the institute's Jihad and Terrorism Studies Project. "It is very closely associated with al-Qaida, if not directly related."Alshech said the Web site's name is Ikhlas, which means "dedication of faithfulness or dedication to the jihad cause." He said it is one of the most popular Web sites for Middle Eastern extremists and was the first to report the death of Libi, an al-Qaida commander in Pakistan.

"It is the most stable jihad Web site," he said, pointing out that the site has had nearly 18 million page hits or viewers, 10 million of which were in the past 10 months."The public should be aware of it."

INTERPOL JOINS HUNT FOR 188 UAE FUGITIVES, "THE NATIONAL" ABU DUBAI UAE NEWSPAPER

Interpol joins hunt for 188 UAE fugitives. John Mather "THE NATIONAL" ABU DUBAI UAE
(A new newspaper "The National" in Abu Dubai with print (80,000 daily) and internet digital articles is available in English, they started in April 2008 and are making news of the UAE available).

A red notice means Interpol will assist local officers in apprehending a suspect with a view to extradition. The National Police have been tightening their ties to Interpol and frequently use the global police organisation’s public warrants as a tool to hunt international fugitives.

The UAE has 188 outstanding “red notices” on Interpol’s website — more than any other state in the region and the fifth highest number of any country in the world. In contrast, the UK has issued seven, Saudi Arabia one, Oman seven and Rwanda, which is searching for perpetrators of the 1994 genocide, has 77.

A red notice means Interpol will assist local officers in apprehending a suspect with a view to extradition. The UAE has the highest number of public warrants after the United States, which has 378, Belarus, 373, India, 334, and Albania, 267. Rachael Billington, a spokesman for Interpol, said the heavy use of public warrants reflected the UAE’s confidence in the organisation. “The fact that the UAE has so many notices is an indication of their commitment to Interpol.”

Further strengthening the relationship between the Emirates and Interpol is Mubarak al Khaili, the organisation’s assistant director for the Middle East and North Africa, and a former Abu Dhabi police officer from Al Ain. At 30, he is the youngest assistant director at Interpol.

Dubai Police have collaborated with Interpol on two major jewel thefts in the last year. One investigation led to police uncovering an international gang of thieves known as the Pink Panthers. Mr Khaili says the other robbery exemplifies why the UAE, and all Arab nations, should build a strong relationship with Interpol.

In March 2006, two masked thieves rode a motorcycle into jewellery shops at Wafi City and BurJuman malls, stealing jewellery worth Dh10 million (US$2.7 million) and escaping on a flight to Belgrade SERBIA. Mr Khaili said the UAE had never witnessed a crime like it. Three weeks ago Interpol arranged to have Andrea Zevatovic, the alleged mastermind, extradited from Germany to face trial in Dubai. “Without Interpol, these guys would remain unidentified,” Mr Khaili said.

With a large expatriate community and an abundance of wealth, the UAE has become a profitable target for international criminals, he said. This is underlined by the mass of “red notices” the country has issued, 160 of which are for fraud.“The majority of red notices are concerning financial crime. That means in the UAE, we don’t have serious crime,” Mr Khaili said. He said the public warrants have proved “very, very, very effective”.

We have had a lot of cases already of people being arrested and extradited.”As well as issuing warrants, he said local police collaborated with Interpol to track down fugitives wanted by other nations. “The UAE doesn’t want anybody wanted in other countries to stay in our country.”Mr Khaili said access to international databases was the most valuable benefit of membership of Interpol. They contain everything from details on lost travel documents to DNA.

It is through DNA evidence provided by Dubai Police that Interpol was able to link a separate robbery at Wafi City mall in April 2007 to yet another international ring of thieves. The fugitives, also wanted by Liechtenstein, drove two stolen Audis into the mall, threatened staff with fake guns and escaped with Dh14 million in jewellery. One of the culprits was sentenced to 10 years in prison by a Dubai court on June 8. The other suspects are among the 188 fugitives wanted by the UAE on Interpol’s website.

Fifty-seven of the warrants are for Indians, 19 are for Pakistanis and 15 for Egyptians. Four women are among the wanted. Only one Emirati is on the public list: Jabelas Keeshor Burjraj, 44, who was born in India but is now wanted for fraud by the UAE.

Emad Ayoub, a former Dubai property developer accused of fleeing the country after taking Dh36m of investor’s money, is also on the list. He is believed to be living in Northamptonshire, UK, and could be the first person formally extradited to the UAE from Britain if arrested.
