At least 25 long-haul truckers are currently imprisoned for serial murders. In 2009, the FBI revealed their database, the Highway Serial Killings Initiative, which tracks information about hundreds of murders that have taken place along US highways and tries to link some together by details. In the first four years of its existence, the program helped authorities to identify and arrest 10 men, believed to be responsible for over 30 deaths. FBI suspects that serial killers working as long-haul truckers are responsible for slayings of hundreds of women nationwide. If there is such a thing as an ideal profession for a serial killer, it may well be as a long-haul truck driver. 

FBI Crime Analyst Christie Palazzolo is quick to point out that long-haul trucking is an honorable profession and that the overwhelming majority of drivers are not murderers—but it does happen, and the pattern is unmistakable. More than a decade ago, analysts for the FBI’s Violent Criminal Apprehension Program (ViCAP)—the only national database of serial crimes—began to see a marked increase in the number of bodies recovered along the side of the road. A majority of the victims were truck-stop prostitutes, and it turned out that many of the suspects were long-haul truckers.

DNA is connecting the dots on hundreds of unsolved murders of women found along highways to long haul truckers that criss-cross the interstate system. According to the FBI, four killings along I-4 highway near Orlando are among 28 in Florida that are unsolved and connected to serial killings that the bureau suspects were committed by long-haul truckers. Those include 19 deaths along the I-4 corridor between Tampa and Daytona Beach, although all but one local law-enforcement agency denies any serial-killer cases on its books. The FBI report documents dozens of serial killings of people whose bodies were dumped near popular trucking routes. The report is accompanied by a map that shows the FBI plotting more than 500 serial killings — mostly prostitutes and female drug users — across the United States. “We had an inordinate number of victims and offenders from this rather specific population pool,” FBI crime analyst Palazzolo explained. To make matters worse, these cases are extremely difficult to investigate. A long-haul driver can pick up a prostitute at a truck stop in Georgia, rape and murder her, and dump her body on the side of the road in Florida later that day. The victim has no connection to the area where she was found, and there may be no forensic evidence to collect because the crime was committed hundreds of miles away. The local police detectives investigating the case might have little experience dealing with a crime of this nature and may be faced with few, if any, leads.

I have done extensive research into multiple unsolved murders, mostly young women involved with drugs and prostitution, of victims whose bodies have been found along the interstate highways of the USA and most specifically along the I-4 corridor in Florida. Garry Artman 64 of White Springs Fl has way more than two bodies on him, it appears he started his rape and murder spree in 1981, he did 12 years in prison for rape in Michigan out in 1992. CLEVELAND — A truck driver was indicted Tuesday on multiple counts of aggravated murder in the slayings of one person in 1997 and three people this year, and a county prosecutor called him a “serial killer.” Robert Rembert, who earlier served time in prison following a manslaughter conviction in another killing, was arrested last month after emerging from a shower at a truck stop outside Cleveland and has been held on a $1 million bond since, prosecutors said. There’s an investigation into Rembert’s “activities as an over-the-road truck driver,” prosecutors said in a statement, which didn’t provide additional details about it. “Robert Rembert is a serial killer,” Cuyahoga County prosecutor Tim McGinty said. “So far, we know he’s purposefully executed five people.”  NASHVILLE, Tenn. Officers arrested Clark Perry Baldwin, 58, in Waterloo on Wednesday after new DNA evidence allegedly tied him to three women whose bodies were dumped in Wyoming and Tennessee. Court documents allege that he also raped and choked a woman in Texas in 1991. Detectives with the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation are “looking at any connections” that Baldwin may have to other cold cases, special agent Mike Krapfl said. He said other agencies were also scrutinizing Baldwin, who traveled the country.

From 1975 to 1990 Rhoades is believed to have tortured, raped, and killed more than 50 women, .”A state trooper near Casa Grande, Ariz., stopped on I-10 to check on a tractor-trailer with blinking lights in April 1990. He discovered Rhoades inside the cab with a hysterical naked woman who had been chained and shackled to a wall. She later told investigators that she’d been tortured and whipped, that Rhoades told her he was known as “Whips and Chains” and had been involved in such activity for years”. The cab of long haul truck driver Bruce Mendenhall and suspected serial killer was “awash with blood” belonging to 10 different people, said a prosecutor who charged him with murdering a missing woman. Carmen Purpura’s body has not been found, but the prosecutor said her blood soaked the seats in Bruce Mendenhall’s cab, and that so much of her blood was there she could not possibly be alive.

In 2008 ViCAP made their database available to all law enforcement agencies through a secure internet link, providing real time access to the database and allowing agencies to enter and update cases directly into the database. ViCAP’s mission is to facilitate cooperation and coordination between law enforcement agencies and to provide support to those agencies in their efforts to apprehend and prosecute violent serial offenders, especially those who cross jurisdictional boundaries. FBI Crime analysts—specially trained to study the database with the goal of identifying serial offenders—have developed extensive timelines on potential highway serial killer suspects and have provided this information to law enforcement nationwide. ViCAP requests that law enforcement agencies forward any information about cases meeting any of the following highway serial killings criteria:
1). Homicide victims whose remains were recovered along a highway or location associated with a highway such as a rest stop, gas station, or truck stop;
2). Kidnapped or missing persons whose last known location was along a highway;
3). Victims of sexual assault with a connection to a highway or highway location; and
4). Truck drivers or other individuals undergoing investigation or arrested for murder, kidnapping, or sexual assault of one or more victims along a highway or at a location associated with a highway.

Saturday Jan 24, 2026 -- A federal agent shot and killed Alex Pretti an armed man in Minneapolis on Saturday morning, federal officials said. The Department of Homeland Security alleged the man "approached US Border Patrol officers with a 9mm semi-automatic handgun." "The officers attempted to disarm the suspect but the armed suspect violently resisted. More details on the armed struggle are forthcoming," the agency added. ICE agent shooting on Sat Jan 24, 2026. The pistol shown on the car seat is a Sig Sauer P320 9mm with tactical site and is the pistol issued to all ICE agents. The P320 model is widely carried by armed civilians and US law enforcement, including ICE — but has been the subject of more than 100 allegations that it has a defect that allows it to fire “uncommanded.” Authorities shared a picture of Pretti’s loaded handgun in the wake of Saturday’s shooting, showing a fully loaded magazine. The weapon appears to be a high-end custom variant, a P320 AXG Combat, which comes with three 21-round magazines. KIDNAPPED IN BROAD DAYLIGHT ORLANDO FL; 20 Years Ago on January 24th 2006 Jennifer Kesse Was Kidnapped From Her Orlando Condo Where Transient Carpet Installers Had Been Working Across the Hallway! Jennifer Kesse was apparently abducted by a group of transient carpet installers who had been working and staying in the condo unit directly across the hall from her unit at the Mosaic at Millenia, this was a planned kidnapping. Jennifer Kesse's condo unit at the Mosaic at Millenia Condominium Orlando Florida that was still under construction. Jennifer’s new condo was located in a tougher part of the city, slowly being revitalized.

The type of clothing and non slip shoes worn by the unsub in surveillance photo, with his hair pulled back in a bun, strongly indicates to me a commercial kitchen worker, possibly where the carpet installers would eat everyday. Just right down Conroy road about 1/2 mile from Jennifer Kesse's condo is the Mall at Millenia Orlando, Fl, which was built and opened in 2002, there are many, many commercial restaurants and a food court in and around the Mall at Millenia.

The kidnappers at the Mosaic at Millenia condo knew Jennifer Kesse's time schedule, they knew her car, they were living in an apartment next to hers. On Tuesday morn Jan 24, 2006 by 7:00am the kidnappers would have parked their carpet van next to Jennifer Kesse's car, when she came out they would have opened the side door from within the van, grabbed her and pulled her in, the van would have acted as cover for the kidnapping. There had to be at least 3 kidnappers, one to drive the van, one to snatch Jennifer Kesse next to her car and pull her into the van and control her, and one to drive Jennifer Kesse's car to the second condo location dump site.

When Jennifer Kesse moved to the Mosaic at Millenia, the complex was still under construction, so it wasn’t uncommon for contractors and construction teams to be seen throughout the complex morning till night. The contractors would come in and out of Jennifer’s condo doing work which made the safety vigilant Jennifer Kesse nervous. When Jennifer would walk from the parking lot to her apartment after work, she was always on the phone with someone, just in case. Jennifer’s friends and family knew how important personal safety was to Jennifer, so they immediately had a bad feeling when Jennifer disappeared (kidnapped) on Tuesday January 24th 2006.

They’ve narrowed the list of persons of interest to just a few people. Drew Kesse spoke about new developments in his daughter’s case, including DNA evidence that had never been tested and the use of artificial intelligence technology. Jennifer Kesse vanished from her Orlando condominium complex in January 2006. She was 24 years old. “FDLE informed us that they are down to just a few people,” Drew Kesse said. “They have been able to just disqualify a lot of the people just through the investigations and interrogations that they have done.”

JENNIFER KESSE KIDNAPPED JAN 24, 2006 ORLANDO FL; I am very familiar with how construction companies and their sub-contractors bid big jobs like the Mosaic at Millenia condo complex. The construction company who gets the bid for the project already has bids from sub-contractors to do roofing, framing, tile work, electrical, plumbing, tile/marble installation and carpet installation from the blue prints of the job. No one vets the sub-contractors workers, no one at the Mosaic at Millenia complex would know if ex-cons or people with active felony warrants were working on the project, just the way it is in Florida, I know this for a fact. 

Back in the 1990's up to Sept 2001 I worked as a estimator for tile and carpet companies in north west Florida bidding on very large contracts that put traveling crews of carpet installers on major building projects. Why hasn't someone gone back to see who the construction company was that built the Mosaic at Millenia complex starting in 2003, contact them find out who they gave the bid to for the floor covering and the carpet installation, it has to be a company that provided liability insurance and Florida workers comp paperwork, there is a paper trail. Back track and visit the floor covering company who did the carpet installation and find out who they had working in 2006 at the Mosaic at Millenia complex, people got paid, checks were issued to somebody!

Security footage recorded a person parking Kesse's car and walking away on Tuesday Jan 24, 2006 at 1:00pm, about 5 hours after Jennifer would usually leave for work. Where was her car for 5 hours? “Her car was parked by a Suspect (on video) who pulled into a visitors parking space waited 32 seconds to exit her car and walked away, never looking back.”  The person in the photo is not necessarily wearing all white clothing this is a black and white only surveillance camera.

The perps who kidnapped Jennifer Keese had to be on site at her condo and in the parking lot by at least 7:00 am on Tuesday Jan 24, 2006. The time is significant as subcontractors working on a big job site like 'Mosaic at Millenia' in Orlando, where Jennifer Keese lived, always start work at about 7:00 am. Contractors hire sub-contractors who hire painters, sheet rock workers, carpet installers, roofers, carpenters, tile installation people and the worst of the worst the clean-up day laborers (rent a drunk) on big construction sites in Florida, these guys are not vetted or vouched. In most cases they are likely comprised of men with violent criminal histories, sex offenders, alcoholic day labors and illegals, just the way it is in Florida, I know this for a fact, I have seen this on Florida construction projects. There are no construction unions in Florida, no trades people who come from apprentice programs, if you have a pickup truck, some basic tools and you can show up not drunk or high for the day, you can get a job on any construction project. A lot of the guys working for sub-contractors are paid in cash, no record of who was on the job site.

The person walking away from Jennifer Kesse's car could not be identified due to poor camera quality, black and white image only, and the person's face and any distinguishing physical features being obscured. The height approximations made by the FBI based on the video are are 5’3” to 5’5” tall. The 30 year old security camera quality is poor almost giving a black and white appearance to everything. Is the short guy/girl in the photo one of the sub contractors doing the punch list of repairs at Jennifer Kesse's condominium at the Mosaic at Millenia in Orlando, most likely yes. The person who dumped the car of Jennifer Kesse and walked away appears to be following orders of others, someone picked him up to leave the area. Multiple perps had to be involved in Jennifer Kesse kidnapping. 

“Detectives discovered there was extensive remodeling going on, including some work in Jennifer’s own unit, and Jennifer had complained to her family that some of the workers were making her feel uncomfortable. Asked what she said, Joyce says, “They would stop and stare. …Leering stares is what she would say.” “Were these guys mostly day workers?” Van Sant asks. “It was large groups of crews that had traveled together, carpenters, sheet rock workers, carpet and tile people and painters. And many of them were staying right there in several of the units in the complex itself.” Of the 447 units in Jennifer’s complex, only 250 were occupied at the time of her disappearance. Did Orlando cops interview each and every sub contract worker doing the punch list at Jennifer Kesse's condo at the Mosaic at Millenia in Orlando, most likely no. Orlando Cops claim no other fingerprints other than Jennifer's found in her condo and car, prints wiped down by perps, appears to be a professional kidnapping by at least 2 or 3 perps. Orlando cops came across a latent fingerprint that is not showing up anywhere and they came across a minuscule piece of thread DNA or material DNA that can not be used to form a profile, as of yet. Jennifer Kesse's condo at the Mosaic at Millenia in Orlando is a guard-gated community, how did perps get in? Where is the list of names the Orlando cops interviewed, there should be several. Drew Keese paid $18,000 to get this list Orlando cops stonewalled him.

Back on Feb 10, 2006, JOYCE KESSE, MOTHER OF JENNIFER SAID: Well, what we think is that she got ready to go to work. She locked the door to her condo and from there it's a mystery. She never showed up for work and we were actually notified by her employer about 11:15 inquiring as to was there some sort of family emergency, which there was not. Meanwhile, they had tried to call her cell phone, her home phone and no reply from Jennifer, which is not usual for her. DREW KESSE, FATHER OF JENNIFER: said her car was found two days later approximately a mile from her condominium, left at an apartment complex and found at midday. The condominium complex that she had recently moved into two months previous had a punch list for repairs and Jennifer had expressed some concern about an uneasy feeling about the amount of unknown workers (painters, carpenters, carpet installers) and that was something that she shared with family and friends. There are surveillance photos of an unidentified person seen near Jennifer's abandoned car and police are asking for public help to identify this person of interest.

We paid the price, in full, upfront. That four-month agreement has turned into three years and ten months and the department is still incapable of fulfilling their end of the agreement. Incompetency at its best. If we did that, we’d be in jail. Now imagine, over that time, fighting for unredacted copies with the city’s lawyers and trying to have our private investigators find Jennifer from all those files. Then finding out that the lead detective on Jennifer’s case did not write a single report or any document since 2010, 15 years!!! Nothing written is nothing investigated,” wrote Drew Kesse! Attempts to hire a private investigator, said Drew, have been thwarted, but the family says they refuse to give up hope and will continuing their fight.
