ISIS Online Recruitment Networks in US Staring Abu Hamza al-Amriki Prosper With Little Opposition, Shut Down Jihad Sites

According to CIA estimates, about 2,000 Westerners have traveled to Iraq and Syria (many via Turkey) to join ISIS. Of these, more than 100 have come from the US, at least 500 from the UK, and more than 700 from France. While the ISIS presence in America is often characterized by so-called “lone wolves,” attackers who claim allegiance to the Islamic State but show little formal connections either to its operatives overseas or other like minded Americans, stories like that of Zulfi Hoxha aka Abu Hamza al-Amriki, DOB 1/16/1992, from Margate New Jersey who is now known to have become a senior commander of Islamic State and one of the faces of the group’s recruitment efforts, according to federal court records are a reminder of the existence and importance of online jihadist recruitment networks in the United States.

FOX NEWS..Sarasota Private Investigator Bill Warner Shuts Down Jihad Websites. Cyber vigilantes typically troll the Internet, searching message boards, Web sites and media sharing sites for incendiary postings from people with ties to terror groups like Al Qaeda. Using Arabic translation software, they monitor postings and even assume fake identities to join online conversations. One of them is Bill Warner, a Sarasota, Fla.-based private investigator and a self-proclaimed cyber-crusader. Bill Warner was instrumental in helping shut down three Web sites hosted by a Tampa Internet service provider (ISP) that contained text, images and video related to attacks on U.S. troops in Iraq and Afghanistan. Click here for more on Bill Warner. One site contained footage of a U.S. military mine sweeper being blown up by an Improvised Explosive Device (IED). According to Bill Warner, the site claims that all the troops aboard the vehicle were killed. The extent of ISIS online networks in the US does not compare to those in Europe, but they nonetheless play a crucial role in recruiting and mobilizing American foreign fighters for ISIS, who number in the dozens. Indeed, the majority of American foreign fighters identified had close connections to other American supporters of ISIS prior to their departure.
Some, like Zulfi Hoxha aka Abu Hamza al-Amriki from Margate New Jersey made these connections through the internet and, via their new contacts, were able to liaise with ISIS facilitators who helped them travel to Syria. In May 2017, the Islamic State media office in Iraq’s Nineveh province released a 45-minute video entitled “We Will Surely Guide Them To Our Ways.” Like many Islamic State media productions, the video includes cameos of foreign fighters from several countries. One of the masked men depicted in the video is an American going by the name of “Abu Hamza al-Amriki.” Speaking in an inflected American accent, he criticizes the United States-led efforts against Islamic State and exhorts the “muwahiddin [believers]” in America to carry out domestic attacks: “Are you incapable of stabbing a kaffir with a knife, throwing him off of a building, or running him over with a car? Liberate yourself from hellfire by killing a kaffir.”

Bill Warner a Private Investigator in Sarasota Fl claims all violent jihad websites need to be shut down. According to news and FBI reports, ISIS typically preys on Western youth who are disillusioned and have no sense of purpose or belonging, much like criminal gangs.“ The large number of social media postings by US-based ISIS supporters is challenging for FBI investigators in differentiating those supporters focused only on promoting pro-ISIS rhetoric online, which may be protected speech, detecting those prepared to engage in violence on the group’s behalf.” Zulfi Hoxha aka Abu Hamza al-Amriki left the United States on 6 April 2015 for Turkey and four days later joined an IS training camp in Syria. Usaama Rahim and David Wright, co-conspirators in the 2015 Boston beheading plot who were "part of a wider network that was in communication with Islamic State operatives in Syria," raised the funds and made the arrangements that enabled Zulfi Hoxha aka Abu Hamza al-Amriki to travel to Turkey, make contact with, and join ISIS in Syria.

Al-Qeada Propagandist Samir Khan in Charlotte NC called Sarasota Private Investigator Bill Warner The Enemy of Allah after Warner's attempts to shut down Khan's website. The Dept of Homeland Security Agencies also warned that ISIS was making very effective use of social media in its recruiting efforts, connecting with “hundreds, possibly thousands” of potential recruits and “lone wolf” jihadis within the United States. In the world of terrorism, the Internet is a double-edged sword, used by authorities to track terrorists and would-be terrorists, as well as by terrorist groups to recruit fighters from around the world. And according to Matthew Olsen, director of the National Counter-terrorism Center, ISIS now operates the most sophisticate propaganda machine of any terrorist organization.
