WMC5 ACTION NEWS WRITES By Kendall Downing | Updated October 10th 2019 at 5:42 AM DYERSBURG, Tenn. (WMC) - For the first time, the district attorney in Dyer County is reviewing the full case file from the investigation into the death of Karen Swift. The 44-year-old mother of four was found dead in 2011. Nobody has faced any charges in connection with her death, which the medial examiner ruled a homicide. Dyer County Sheriff Jeff Box told WMC Action News 5 Wednesday that his office has submitted everything they have to the district attorney’s office for review. “The file is very expansive. It actually starts from the birth of Karen Swift and goes from the date of her death, and even information after that,” he told WMC Action News 5 Wednesday. “It is a very large file, lots of volumes. It’s going to take me a while to get through everything we have.”
Karen Swift had just filed for divorce from her husband David when she was found dead. In the years after her death he’d been the focus of Dyer County investigators. Sources close to the investigation said Wednesday that was because of inconsistent statements he’d given to authorities. “I feel like they’ve always had tunnel vision on David Swift and rejected leads on any sort of information that did not lead to him,” said Heather Cohen, a Nashville private investigator. Cohen started looking into the Swift case last year. She said she believes Dyer County investigators may have missed leads. “A lot of our information led us in a different direction, and we’ve stayed focused on that direction pretty much the whole year,” she said.
I Have Been Involved With the Karen Swift Unsolved Murder Case in Dyersburg TN Since November 22nd 2011 as Seen on CNN Head Line News and I have never seen any indication that David Swift had anything to do with her murder. I was on CNN HLN with Jane Velez way back in November 2011 going over, at the time, the missing case of Karen Swift who was found bludgeoned to death in December 2011. On December 10th 2011 the body of Karen Swift was found. Swift's body was in an area covered in vines near Bledsoe Cemetery. I have said all along that the husband was not the killer and that Karen Swift's lifestyle and the people she met online contributed to her death.
Heather Cohen at HMC Investigations Gives Her Take On The Sex, Lies, and Missing Video Tape in Unsolved Karen Swift Murder which for the most part is regurgitation of all the information that I have obtained over the last 6 years working as the private investigator for David Swift and shared with Ms. Cohen. Ms. Cohen has implied that murdered Karen Swift had a somewhat sordid sex history that included adult photos and videos.
On December 9, 2018 Ms. Cohen wrote : "I spoke with another close friend of the victim’s who, among other things, states that the victim told her that she’d had “risky pictures” taken with other girls." Ms. Cohen goes on with: "I spoke with a close friend of the victim’s who states that the victim “confided” in her that she was involved in something she wasn’t proud of (for money). This witness also confirms much of the rumors about the couple that the victim went to the party with." Ms. Cohen further states: "I confirmed the break in at The Farms Golf Club were the only thing stolen was the security video tapes and cameras.
Employees of the Farms Country Club have given statements confirming the altercation between the prominent man’s daughter and the victim on the night in question. However, they were told to deny it if anyone asked. The victim had been in at least two altercations with other two women." Ms. Cohen sums it up: "Though I will admit that none of this information “clears” the victim’s husband, I have to consider the fact that there are several factors that point to the “swinger couple” as well as the woman whom the victim got into the altercation with at the Halloween party at the The Farms Golf Club Dyersburg TN."... I agree with HMC, everything she claims abut murdered Karen Swift is the truth, in fact I wrote about all of this over 5 years ago during my investigation in the "who did it" of murdered Karen Swift working as the private investigator for David Swift.
Back on Thursday, January 09, 2014 I wrote: Unsolved Karen Swift Murder a Tale of Sex, Lies and Missing Video Tapes. I, Bill Warner, had been hired by David Swift to look into the unsolved murder of his wife Karen Swift that occurred after she went to a Halloween party at the The Farms Golf Club in Dyersburg TN on October 29th, 2011. CNN HLN has profiled the unsolved murder of Karen Swift on Jane Velez Mitchell and Nancy Grace numerous times and I have been on the panel discussing the case three times since way back in November 2011. As per an autopsy report, the murder of Karen Swift was caused by blunt force trauma to her head which would have caused large amounts of blood spatter wherever she was killed, how come Sheriff Box never found any blood in her house or near her abandoned car?
KAREN SWIFT LIFESTYLE: David Swift's attorney Steve Farese said he did not want to speak badly of murdered Karen Swift. "I don't want to speak badly about Karen," said attorney Steve Farese. "But were some things going on that were quite unusual." Prominent attorney Steve Farese is talking about Karen Swift, the Dyer County mother who was murdered five months ago. Farese is representing Swift's husband David who has not been charged with anything. Farese thinks little of talk David Swift could be his wife's killer. "A lot of people say that. Those people are ignorant and don't know what they are talking about," he said. Farese says his investigation has uncovered some suspects. He says he has names of more than one person and that it is going to be very interesting. But he would not name names or say what unusual things were going on at the time of Karen Swift's death.
In any police investigation of a murder or even a missing person case, the cops always want to know who was the last person the victim had contact with and were there any surveillance tapes of recent activity, if she was at home who did she talk to, if she had gone out for the night, a night of dancing and drinking like at the The Farms Dyersburg Country Club Halloween party then who was she with. It surely was not her husband who was back at their home on crutches with a knee injury, so who was she with, did she get into any altercations with anyone inside or outside of the Farms Dyersburg Country Club Halloween party, where are the surveillance tapes?
Look at whoever broke into The Farms Golf Club & Country Club in Dyersburg in the early AM on Tuesday November 1st 2011 as linked to the murder of Karen Swift. Someone broke into The Farms Golf Club & Country Club in Dyersburg Tennessee and stole some golf clubs, the video recording equipment, surveillance tapes and some of the surveillance cameras, who has the Alarm Contract with the The Farms Golf Club & Country Club in Dyersburg Tennessee. The break-in was reported to the Dyersburg County Sheriff on Wednesday November 2nd, 2011, three days after Karen Swift was murdered. Information from my sources indicates there was a break in at The Farms Golf Club & Country Club in Dyersburg Tennessee on Tuesday November 1st, 2011 and the burglars stole the surveillance cameras, tapes, discs, all the recording devices and a few golf clubs, the purpose of the break in at the The Farms Golf Club & Country Club in Dyersburg Tennessee was to steal the surveillance equipment, what the hell?
A friend of the missing woman, Laura Jane, told The Huffington Post: 'They found her Halloween costume in the car, the one she wore to the Dyer County Country Club (The Farm) on Saturday October 29th. They confirmed [the clothing items] belong to her. They took DNA from her mother and compared it to DNA on the clothes.''Some other articles of clothing that belonged to her - a pair of jeans and a gray zip-up - were found in some brush not far from her car. Late on Tuesday November 1st 2011, someone broke into The Farms Golf Club & Country Club in Dyersburg Tennessee and stole some golf clubs, the video recording equipment, surveillance tapes and some of the surveillance cameras, who has the Alarm Contract with the The Farms Golf Club & Country Club in Dyersburg Tennessee. The break-in was reported to the Dyersburg Co. Sheriff on Wednesday November 2nd, 2011, three days after Karen Swift was murdered.
No crime scene appears to have been determined as to where Karen Swift was murdered on or about October 30th, 2011. The murder of Karen Swift apparently occurred in the Dyersburg family home or so claims the Sheriff but he can not prove it. Dyer County District Attorney Phil Bivens was with Dyer County Sheriff’s investigators and TBI agents during the a Nov. 10, 2011 search of the Swift’s house on Willie Johnson Road. On that day, agents with the TBI’s Violent Crimes Response Team in Memphis TN processed potential evidence at the residence. Forensic agents were reportedly at the house because it was one of the last places Karen Swift was seen alive and a part of the process of the investigation, the forensic agents found nothing, no blood, no indication that a fight or a murder took place in the house, nothing.
KAREN SWIFT CAUSE OF DEATH- INJURIES TO HER BODY, BLUNT FORCE TRAUMA TO HER HEAD: Official Press Release -Dyer County Sheriff's Office Swift Murder Investigation. As per Sheriff Box, Dyer County TN investigators observed injuries the body of Karen Swift sustained that appeared to have caused her death. An autopsy was performed on Karen Swift's body by the Shelby County Medical Examiner's Office in Memphis, the results of the autopsy said Karen Swift, a mother of four and fitness instructor, was killed by blunt force trauma to the head in October 2011. The report obtained by Burton Staggs noted that Swift was partially clothed and had multiple bone fractures. The report also stated Karen Swift was found in vines near Bledsoe Cemetery wearing nothing but underwear that were pulled halfway down her thighs.
Karen Swift's body was too decomposed to determine if she was sexually assaulted. Dyer County TN investigators "observed injuries" the body of Karen Swift sustained that appeared to have caused her death. So, if the cause of death for Karen Swift was blunt force trauma to her head, where is the blood spatter in the house or on or near her car, none was supposedly found by TBI forensic agents, it would have been everywhere. If blood spatter belonging to Karen Swift was found in the house or on or near her car back in October 2011, the husband, David Swift, would be on trial right now, he isn't because he is innocent.
