Perhaps Sarasota City Commissioners Mayor Liz Alpert, Vice-Mayor Jen Ahearn-Koch, Hagen Brody, Willie Charles Shaw and Shelli Freeland Eddie (all Democrats) are oblivious to the recent arrest of Newtown Thug Tyran Young, Who Has 5 Prior Felony Convictions, for ambushing and firing on Sarasota County Fire Paramedics. No-Go Newtown thugs are now taking target practice on Sarasota County Fire trucks and the paramedics onboard. Can this place, Newtown, get any worse, drugs, prostitution, shootings are almost a daily occurrence, add in kidnapping of Jabez Span and his murder and the unsolved murder of Travis Combs and you have No-Go Newtown, open your eyes Sarasota City Commissioners
Bureau of Justice Assistance: Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN) is designed to create and foster safer neighborhoods through a sustained reduction in violent crime, including, but not limited to, addressing criminal gangs and the felonious possession and use of firearms. The program's effectiveness depends upon the ongoing coordination, cooperation, and partnerships of local, state, tribal, and federal law enforcement agencies--and the communities they serve--engaged in a unified approach led by the U.S. Attorney (USA) in all 94 districts. The Federal District, Florida Middle (includes Sarasota), had a PSN allocation of $1,129,811 in 2018 exceeded only by New York State and the State of Texas in all of the Federal Districts. PSN requires each district to develop data-driven strategies to target enforcement efforts in locations with significant violent crime problems and against offenders who are driving the violence. District-based enforcement efforts must accomplish three goals: 1) identify the locations within the district that have the most significant issues with violence; 2) identify the offenders who are driving the violence in those areas; and 3) prosecute those offenders to provide the most certain and appropriate sanctions.
Thursday, February 28, 2019 ABC7 News Sarasota Gives Short Version of Newtown Armed Career Criminal Thug Cedrick Lee Taylor's 15 Year Federal Prison Sentence. Newtown Section of Sarasota home base for kidnapping, murders, drug sales and violence 24/7. Time for the FBI and ATF to step in with "Armed Career Criminal Act" and lock em up for good. The Department of Justice’s Project Safe Neighborhoods program – a nationwide, gun–violence reduction strategy led by the ATF. The ATF is coordinating the Project Safe Neighborhoods effort here in the Middle District of Florida in cooperation with federal (FBI), state, and local law enforcement officials.
UK The Guardian Newspaper "On 16 April 2011, at approximately three in the morning, two British men who were here in Sarasota on vacation would find that they would die at the hands of gunfire in Newtown," prosecutor Ed Brodsky said. Do we need another International incident like the cold blooded murder of British tourists James Kouzaris and James Cooper in 'the Courts' in April of 2011 by Newton teen thug Shawn Tyson and his gang to give Sarasota another black eye and a reason for tourists to back off coming here, wake up. Quote UK Telegraph: The families of two British tourists gunned down on a crime-ridden Florida estate after taking a wrong turn described their teenage murderer Shawn Tyson as “evil”.
Friday March 8th, 2019, Tyran Young, who police say is a five-time convicted felon in the state of Florida, has now been charged with two counts of aggravated assault on a firefighter, EMT, shooting into a vehicle, unlawful use of a two-way communication device, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and misuse of 911. Hey newsflash for our Sarasota City Commissioners the Newtown thugs are now shooting at unarmed "Firefighter EMT's" responding to a call for help! Tyran Young has faced charges in the past including robbery, possession of marijuana with intent to sell, aggravated battery, domestic battery, cocaine trafficking, fraud and possession of a firearm by a felon, he is a good candidate for prosecution under the Armed Career Criminal Act (ACCA). The ACCA and other reforms were a resounding success. Between 1991 and 2014, the murder and aggravated-assault rates decreased by half. Robberies decreased by two-thirds and rapes by more than a third.

SARASOTA — Sarasota City Commissioner Hagen Brody is demanding an apology from a fellow commissioner for what Brody says were “divisive” and “disgusting” comments made at a recent City Commission meeting. Brody on Wednesday called upon Commissioner Willie Charles Shaw (who is African American) to apologize for remarks Shaw made during a debate at the commission’s meeting Monday in which Shaw called himself “colored” and seemingly referred to city staffers and proponents of an election date change campaign as “white folks.” Sarasota City Commissioner Willie Charles District 1 includes Newtown, Shaw acknowledged that Sarasota cannot grow as whole until Newtown grows. They are connected, he said. Part of Shaw's plan to address crime and the perception of Newtown, he said, is to create a community neighborhood coalition. The group, he added, would be focused on violence and crime in not just Newtown but all of north Sarasota.
