Anthony Pellicano is the tough-talking LA private eye who inspired Showtime’s “Ray Donovan”, Pellicano set for release from prison March 2019

Anthony Pellicano is the tough-talking LA private eye who inspired Showtime’s “Ray Donovan”, Pellicano set for release from prison March 22nd 2019, his 75th birthday. “These are the guys you call when you can’t call the cops.” Donovan remains cool, even detached, when cleaning up celebrity messes in LA and now NYC. Pellicano had been sentenced to 180 months for two racketeering counts, which included charges of computer fraud and identity theft and operating a criminal enterprise aimed at wiretapping rich and famous victims. "People got away with a lot because of me" said Pellicano.
With a Louisville Slugger in the trunk of his car and a computerized phone-hacking system in his Sunset Boulevard office, LA private eye Anthony Pellicano dug up dirt on his clients’ enemies and helped make those problems go away. Anthony Pellicano built an all-star client roster that included Michael Jackson, Elizabeth Taylor, Tom Cruise, Sylvester Stallone, Roseanne Barr, Garry Shandling, Courtney Love and many more. When he wasn’t digging through their dirty laundry, Anthony Pellicano was power-lunching with the stars, tooling around in his black Mercedes and dark sunglasses with a Louisville Slugger in the trunk, LOL, just like Ray.
Pellicano grew up in Al Capone’s old haunt, Cicero, Ill., and worked as a bill collector before becoming a private investigator in Chicago. Anthony Pellicano served a term of thirty months in a federal prison for illegal possession of explosives, firearms and homemade grenades, and in 2008 began serving an additional sentence for subsequent convictions for other crimes including racketeering and wiretapping. Celebrity clients used Anthony Pellicano's services to gain advantages over their opponents in litigation. Anthony Pellicano was dubbed the private eye to the stars, having connections to the likes of Michael Jackson, Tom Cruise, Yoko Ono, and Jerry Springer, Kevin Costner, and Chris Rock. Pellicano’s clients told authorities that they were unaware that he was breaking the law. Anthony Pellicano is set for release from prison in early 2019. The boastful private eye, explaining his exorbitant fees, said, “All my LA clients were willing to pay me any amount of money I asked them.” LOL, just like Ray.
