It's Deja Vu all over again in 2018 Newtown Fl with Shawn Tyson's street gang members back on the streets from prison just like in 2011 and just like in 2010 with the 2nd Line Gang members before they were busted up.
SECOND LINE GANG 'THE COURTS' NEWTOWN SECTION OF SARASOTA FL: The Second Line gang members charged with racketeering and busted up by SPD Detective Kim Laster in 2010 are/were: DeAndre Tunstall serving a prison sentence for murder, John “Chico” Stephens serving a prison sentence for murder, brothers Torrey Eldridge in prison and Xavier Eldridge in prison, Davon Gordon released from prison, and Gary Wilder in prison. A four-year investigation has resulted in Sarasota police charging six members of a notorious street gang with racketeering, saying the members of Second Line were responsible for murders, robberies and home invasions on the city’s north side. Detectives say the Second Line gang has for years been one of the most violent groups in Newtown. Members have been charged in four murders and are suspected of dozens of armed robberies. Sarasota detective Kim Laster spent four years investigating the gang, working with the state Attorney General’s Office and state investigators to chronicle the history of its members’ crimes.
Florida Statutes 874.03 says a criminal street gang is a formal or informal ongoing organization, association, or group of three or more persons who have: A common name or common identifying signs, colors, or symbols. Members or associates who individually or collectedly, engaged in or have engaged in a pattern of youth and street gang activity such as fighting, vandalism, murder, and drug sales.

Back in May of 2011 the Sarasota Herald Tribune wrote, Newtown public housing redevelopment will continue without the HOPE VI grant, but at a slower pace than hoped. The federal government has for the sixth time snubbed Sarasota in its bid for a multimillion-dollar grant to revamp half-century-old project housing in Newtown, The Courts. The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development announced Sarasota would not receive $21 million it requested to raze and rebuild the Orange Avenue and The Courts housing complexes. The grant would have vastly improved Newtown’s public housing that for decades has been plagued by crime and drugs. But housing officials say there is “hope beyond HOPE VI,” the coveted grant that has eluded the city since 1997. Anariest J. Taylor, 17, of 1912 North Orange Avenue, Apt. #20, Sarasota, (Sarasota Public Housing 'The Courts') has been arrested and charged with murder with a firearm following a shooting on Sunday afternoon June 3rd 2018.
