UPDATED December 20th, 2017. Al-Qaeda bosses 'inspired' their jihadi operatives in the Tacoma Washington area to target the Amtrak Cascades high speed train and derail it with a homemade derail tool. Easy step by step directions were printed out in the August 2017 issue of the Inspire Magazine for the derail tool, see above. Inspire was the brainchild of terminated jihadi Samir Khan, he is the author of how to make a bomb in your mother's kitchen sink. In the Inspire issue #17 security instructions were printed out on how to check train schedules and make sure you attach the derail tool to the tracks just prior to when the train will pass your selected target spot, you need access to the train tracks. The Inspire mag also indicated it would be best to target the high speed train when it approaches a bridge on a curve preferably over a highway. It is all laid out in the page I pulled from the recent Inspire mag, see above, also note the Amtrak Cascades train is specifically targeted.
Washington Post: An official briefed on the investigation told The Associated Press that preliminary signs indicate that Amtrak Train 501, Cascades, may have struck something before going off the track about 40 miles south of Seattle. The official was not authorized to discuss the investigation publicly and spoke on the condition of anonymity. In a radio transmission immediately after the accident, the conductor can be heard saying the train was coming around a corner and was crossing a bridge that passed over Interstate 5 when it derailed. The train was going 81.1 mph moments before the derailment, the maximum speed along the stretch of track is 79 mph. Al-Qaeda Inspire mag quote, "the DERAIL tool is expected to interfere with the train's movement and cause it to divert from its tracks. As the perpetrator does not physically need to be on the train during the derailment, the operation "is not a martyrdom op" and "can be repeated," the magazine said. It will also be "easy to hide your tracks from forensics" after the attack, it boasted.
Terrorism: NY POST December 18th, 2017 Monday’s deadly Amtrak train derailment may have been caused by the train striking something on the railway, according to an unconfirmed Associated Press report. A preliminary investigation suggests maintenance problems are unlikely to blame because the incident took place on brand-new tracks, a government official told the AP on condition of anonymity. Amtrak Train Cascades Line Derailed Onto I-5 Freeway Outside Tacoma Washington, Al-Qaeda targeted Amtrak Cascades line in Washington for derailment in August 2017 Issue of Inspire Magazine with a homemade derailment tool. Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) has dedicated an entire edition of its magazine to teaching followers how to derail trains in Europe and the US for future terrorist attacks.
In the 94-page issue, the terrorist group's writers outline different methods to derail trains, train routes to target, among other advice. One of the train routes to target was the "Amtrak Cascades" a passenger train that runs 156 miles from Vancouver, British Columbia south to Seattle, Washington, continuing 310 miles south via Portland, Oregon to Eugene, Oregon.
No Coincidences In Terrorist Attacks: Washington State Amtrak Train Derailed Onto I-5 Freeway Outside of Tacoma Al-Qaeda Inspire Mag Called for Lone Wolf Terrorists to Derail Trains on Cascades Line in August 2017 issue. Al-Qaeda and/or ISIS could not have staged the crash site any better. If there ever was a location where terrorists would want to derail a train and get maximum media coverage, then this would be the spot.
TACOMA, Wash. – An Amtrak passenger train derailed Monday morning, spilling multiple cars off an Interstate 5 overpass and killing several people on the train in Pierce County, Washington, according to the spokesman for the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office. Several motorists in vehicles that were struck by the fallen train cars suffered injuries, but there were no fatalities among people in those vehicles, the sheriff’s office said.
The deaths “are all contained to the train,” said Ed Troyer, the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office spokesman. “It’s pretty horrific.” Troyer said there were “multiple fatalities” but couldn’t provide a precise number. He said multiple cars and trucks were struck by the train when at least one car hit the highway, and that some of the injured were able to walk off the train and are receiving treatment. All southbound lanes of the interstate are closed due to the derailment and the sight stunned motorists heading to work. The incident took place at 7:40 a.m. near DuPont, between Tacoma and Olympia. The Amtrak train was a new line for Amtrak on its Cascades line, running from Seattle to Portland. Al-Qaeda Inspire magazine had targeted the Amtrak Cascades line for derailments in it's August 2017 issue.
ABC NEWS REPORTED less than a month ago on November 26th, 2017 Terror threat to US rail puts law enforcement on alert. The latest issue of al Qaeda's English-language publication INSPIRE gave step-by-step instructions for fashioning a "homemade derail tool" and claimed that railroads are among America's "easiest targets.""It is time that we instill fear and make them impose strict security measures to trains as they did with their air transportation," the publication said.
The al Qaeda INSPIRE article prompted the federal Transportation Security Administration to send a security notice to law enforcement across the nation, ABC News has learned. When placed on train tracks, the DERAIL tool is expected to interfere with the train's movement and cause it to divert from its tracks. As the perpetrator does not physically need to be on the train during the derailment, the operation "is not a martyrdom op" and "can be repeated," the magazine said. It will also be "easy to hide your tracks from forensics" after the attack, it boasted.
There is an access road from Mounts Rd SW in Dupont, Pierce County Washington State, near the Country Club golf course, that goes right up to where the Amtrak Cascades train derailed, see map click HERE. Al-Qaeda Inspire magazine told lone wolf terrorists to target US rail lines, the Amtrak Cascades line, derailed Monday, was specifically mentioned just a few months ago.
Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) dedicated the 17th issue of its Inspire Magazine to train derailment and impacting the transportation sector and showed how to derail a train with a device set on the railroad tracks. Al-Qaeda Inspire magazine had targeted the Amtrak Cascades line for derailments in it's August 2017 issue.

HAMZA BIN-LADEN ORDERS ATTACKS ON RAIL LINES: The latest issue of Inspire is noteworthy in that the most prominent personality in the magazine is Hamza bin Laden, son of Osama bin Laden. Hamza bin Laden is emerging as a global leader of Al Qaeda and has specifically vowed to take revenge on the U.S. for killing his father. Highlights of Inspire 17: Al Qaeda claims that they will be concentrating on targeting Western nations’ transportation infrastructure, seeking to disrupt the movement of people and cargo. While Al Qaeda says that they will be targeting all aspects of transportation, air, sea and land, as well as local and international, Inspire 17 focuses on rail transport. As implied by the name “inspire” Al Qaeda seeks to inspire individual Jihadis to take action. They suggest attacking transport vehicles such as trains and aircraft, lines of transport, such as railways, and stations, terminals and transit points, such as train stations, subway terminals and airports.
Hamza Bin Laden specifically states: “I urge my Mujahideen brothers everywhere, especially Lone Jihad heroes; I say to them: Target America.” Al Qaeda specifically instructs its followers to target civilians, as opposed to military targets: “In targeting civilians, there is much advantage and benefit for attaining goals of Jihad that cannot be attained when targeting the military.” The impact on Western and American lifestyles from increased security measures is not lost on Al Qaeda: “O Mujahideen, it is time we instill fear and make them impose strict security measures to trains as they did with air.” Concentrating on rail, the magazine describes a austere technique for attacking trains by derailing them from railroad tracks by positioning an item on them that will alter the course of the train’s wheels. Unlike previous terror attacks on rail infrastructure, such a technique would not require explosives. The following passenger trains are listed as specific targets: Amtrak Cascades, Cardinal, Carolinian, City of New Orleans, Crescent, Pacific Surfliner, Palmetto, Silver Meteor, Silver Star, Southwest Chief, Sunset Limited and Texas Eagle. It also depicts a map of US rail lines by Union Pacific, Norfolk Southern, CSX, BNSF and Amtrak.
