ISIS news site #amaq claims Vegas shooter Stephen Paddock was a recent convert who became one of their "soldiers"

According to the ISIS news site #amaq, they claim #StephenPaddock was a recent convert who became one of their "soldiers". The ISIS statement read: “The Las Vegas attack was carried out by a soldier of the Islamic State and he carried it out in response to calls to target states of the coalition.” Another statement said: “The Las Vegas attacker converted to Islam a few months ago.” Stephen Paddock has been named as the suspect who shot dead crowds of revellers at the country music event on the US city's world famous strip. Police say the 64-year-old, from Nevada, killed himself before they stormed his room on the 32nd floor of the nearby Mandalay Bay Hotel and Casino. As well as the 58 people tragically confirmed dead, around 515 others have been left injured after the gunman opened fire on revelers.

VIDEO click image above to see and hear 100 rounds fired in seconds. Las Vegas shooter Stephen Paddock used a bump stock to make AR-15 full auto. From my association with firearms the weapon of choice used by Stephen Paddock in the Las Vegas terror attack appears to be a full auto AR-15 with a 100 round drum. In all the on site video recorded by victims of the terror attack there is no break in the firing by Stephen Paddock, most AR-15's have a 30 round magazine, Stephen Paddock can be heard firing of over 60 or 80 rounds at once with no interruption, he had to use a 100 round drum with his many long guns. Also the AR-15 is accurate up to 400 yards, the victims at the concert were about 300 yards from Paddock's hotel window. I have fired one of these weapons as part of the Sarasota County Sheriff's Dept Citizens Law Enforcement Academy (CLEA) program and I can tell you there is very little recoil when fired on full auto and you are able to keep the weapon sighted dead on the target while viewing through the high tech scope.
ISIS has claimed responsibility for the attack. The terror group claims Stephen Paddock converted to Islam months ago, according Amaq news agency. Shiraz Maher, deputy director of the International Centre for the Study of Radicalization and Political Violence (ICSR), said the statement was authentic but it was too early to confirm Isis involvement. “We can say the message is definitely coming from Isis, but whether Isis is just doing this as psychological warfare against the US remains to be seen,” he told The Independent.
(CNN) Who was Stephen Paddock, the man suspected of killing more than 50 people on the Las Vegas Strip? Paddock, 64, was a resident of Mesquite, a town of about 18,000 people on the Nevada-Arizona state line 82 miles northeast of Las Vegas. Authorities are searching his home Monday. They don't know how long he'd lived in the area. He'd been staying in the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas since last Thursday, authorities said.  From his room on the 32nd floor he fired hundreds of rounds into the crowd on the street below at the Route 91 Harvest music festival on Sunday night, killing more than 58 and wounding over 515.

ISIS targeted the Mandalay Bay Hotel and Casino back in May 2017 in a video. A legitimate Islamic State group propaganda video posted on social media on May 17, 2017 features brief footage of the Las Vegas Strip while calling for lone-wolf terrorist attacks, and Las Vegas police are treating it as a credible threat. The video is about 44 minutes long, which is unusual because Islamic State group propaganda videos are often much shorter, according to a representative with SITE Intelligence Group, a nongovernmental counterterrorism organization.
The video featuring the Las Vegas Strip was posted on Telegram, a cloud-based instant messaging service, the representative said. It showcases the Islamic State group’s newly developed weapons, and its final scene has a series of shots, including the Las Vegas Strip and New York’s Times Square, while a narrator calls for general lone-wolf attacks in America. The threat emerged last week in a sick 44-minute video from the terrorist group that showed footage of Caesar's Palace, the Bellagio Hotel, Mandalay Bay and other icons from the casino row on South Las Vegas Boulevard.
