
SARASOTA, FL (WWSB My SunCoast ABC-7) - Police are investigating a late Tuesday night shooting on 33rd Street near Goodrich and Osprey avenues. This is the third shooting in the past week in the area. Police say the victims were walking westbound when a Mercury sedan drove toward them and fired shots. One person was shot in the foot. He was taken to Sarasota Memorial Hospital. Officers attempted to track a suspect with a K9 but no one was found. In this same area, a shooting occurred at 32nd Street and US 301 last week, followed by another shooting on Sunday at 31st Street and Goodrich Avenue.

They say an argument broke out between 33-year-old Alfa Victor Young and others near Leonard Reid Avenue and 32nd Street Thursday night. Witnesses say Young had a gun on him, and began acting in a threatening manner before he started firing at others. Someone returned fire, and Young ran away. He eventually collapsed and died from his injuries. Alfa Victor Young was listed as living in the 3300 block of Central Ave Sarasota Fl.
