An abandoned store in the Town of Union that had been vacant for nearly ten years is finally being removed. People who live and work in the neighborhood near the former Warehouse Carpet Outlet building at 3100 Watson Boulevard say they’re glad the structure is coming down. Asbestos was removed from the structure last week and demolition crews started tearing down the building on Wednesday, April 21st 2016.
LCP Group of Vestal was hired for the project, which is expected to be complete within a few days. The building owner, Thomas Mazzanoble of Binghamton, could not be reached to discuss what is planned for the property. Warehouse Carpet Outlet has an active store at 500 Reynolds Rd, Johnson City, NY 13790.
