Sarasota Herald Tribune Never Reported Arrest of Imam Muneer Arafat or His Testimony at a Federal Grand Jury Terrorism Investigation in St Louis or His Undercover Work For FBI in 2002

The Sarasota Herald Tribune never reported the November 2002 arrest of Imam Muneer Arafat by Federal Agents in Sarasota Fl for overstaying his visa. The Sarasota Herald Tribune never reported that after his November 2002 arrest Muneer Arafat was required to give testimony at a Federal Grand Jury Terrorism Investigation in St Louis concerning links to the 9/11 attacks and information about his former Al-Qaeda linked roommate Ziyad Sadqua aka Ziyad Khaeel. "One witnesses was Muneer Arafat, who formerly lived in the St Louis area and moved in 2000 to Sarasota, Fla where he was the Imam of a mosque, Arafat is a Kuwaiti of Palestinian descent". The Sarasota Herald Tribune never reported on the undercover work (wearing a wire) Muneer Arafat did for the FBI in 2002 regarding a group of Sarasota Muslim businessmen and their links to a terrorism support network. Muneer Arafat was the Imam at the Sarasota Bradenton Islamic Center Mosque at 4350 N. Lockwood Ridge Rd Sarasota Fl from March of 2000 to the end of 2003. Mohamed Atta and other 9/11 Hijackers followed Muneer Arafat to the Sarasota area in June of 2000. The Sarasota Saudi al-Hiijjii Family had been members of the Sarasota Bradenton Islamic Center Mosque, where Muneer Arafat was the Imam, from at least 1996 until their departure in August 2001. It would not be unreasonable to maintain that Muneer Arafat also visited the 4224 Escondito Circle house as he was the al-Hiijjii family's Imam or Holy Man from March 2000 to August 2001. In St. Louis, from 1996 to 2000, Muneer Arafat became a well-known lecturer at different Masjids and built up quite a following. He gave lectures at local mosques that almost exclusively focused on Jihad week in and week out and this got him into trouble with Sheikh Muhammad Nur of the Islamic Foundation of Greater St. Louis who at one point banned him from giving lectures at the Gateway Masjid. Muneer Arafat was preaching terrorism, OK to be a suicide bomber. From open court records in Tampa during the Sami al-Arian trial it has been revealed that Muneer Arafat had become an informant for the US Department of Justice (FBI) and they had paid him $35,000 to spy (wear  a wire) on a group of Muslim businessmen in Sarasota Fl during 2002.
Jihad Preaching Holy Man Muneer Arafat Comes to Sarasota Fl in March 2000 His Al-Qaeda Agent Roommate Ziyad Khaleel Goes to Orlando and Sets Up Terrorist Websites. The Sarasota Bradenton Islamic Center Mosque at 4350 N. Lockwood Ridge Rd Sarasota Fl hired Al-Qaeda and Hamas linked Imam Muneer Arafat in March of 2000, he had been preaching Jihad in the St. Louis area up to the end of 1999. Muneer Arafat and a co-signer purchased a dark blue 2000 Isuzu Trooper SUV in early 2000 in East St Louis Illinois with plate number 3678625, the vehicle had been previously registered in St Louis MO on the other side of the Mississippi river which divides St Louis, Muneer Arafat drove this vehicle to Sarasota Fl, I obtained surveillance photos of this vehicle in Sarasota Fl in 2002 with the same Illinois license plate number.

Much has been made about a secret 2002 FBI investigation into the Sarasota Saudi al-Hiijjii family and their links to the 9/11 hijackers at their 4224 Escondito Circle Sarasota Fl house. Sarasota Imam Muneer Arafat was an informant for the US Department of Justice (FBI) and they had paid him $35,000 to spy (wear  a wire) on a group of Muslim businessmen in Sarasota Fl during 2002, the al-Hiijjii family went to Muneer Arafat's Mosque. FBI agents said records of incoming and outgoing calls made at the 4224 Escondito Circle Sarasota Fl house were obtained from the phone company under subpoena. It would not be unreasonable to maintain that Muneer Arafat also visited the 4224 Escondito Circle house as he was the al-Hiijjii family's Imam or Holy Man. Agents were able to conduct a link analysis, a system of tracking calls based on dates, times and length of conversations — finding the Escondito calls dating back more than a year, “lined up with the known suspects.” The links were not only to Mohamed Atta and his 9/11 hijack pilots, the agent said, but to 11 other terrorist suspects, including Walid al-Shehhri, one of the men who flew with Atta on the first plane to strike the World Trade Center. Another was Adnan Shukrijumah, a former Miramar resident identified as having been with Mohamed Atta in the spring of 2001. Shukrijumah was on the the FBI’s Most Wanted list before he was killed in 2014. But it was the gate records at the Prestancia development that produced the most telltale information. People who arrived by car had to give their names and the home’s address they were visiting. Gate staff would sometimes ask to see a driver’s license and note the name. LICENSE PLATES PHOTOGRAPHED. More importantly, he added, the license plates of cars pulling through the gate were photographed. Mohamed Atta is known to have used variations of his name, but the license plate of the car he owned was on record. The vehicle and name information on Atta and Jarrah fit that of drivers entering Prestancia on their way to visit the home at 4224 Escondito Circle Sarasota Fl.

Former Sen Bob Graham said he was surprised he wasn’t told about the FBI's 2002 probe in Sarasota Fl when he was co-chair of Congress’ Joint Inquiry into 9/11 — even though he was especially alert to terrorist information relating to Florida. “At the beginning of the investigation,” he said, “each of the intelligence agencies, including the FBI, was asked to provide all information that agency possessed in relation to 9/11.” The fact that the FBI did not tell the Inquiry about the Florida discoveries, Graham says, is similar to the agency’s failure to provide information linking members of the 9/11 terrorist team to other Saudis in California until congressional investigators discovered it themselves. The final 28-page section of the FBI 2002 Sarasota Inquiry’s report, which deals with “sources of foreign support for some of the Sept. 11 hijackers,” was entirely blanked out. It was kept secret from the public on the orders of former President George W. Bush and is still withheld to this day, Graham said.

CASE NO. 12-61735-CIV-

Defendants, by and through their undersigned counsel, file their Notice of In Camera Filing, and state: On November 25, 2015, defendants delivered to the Court four (4) boxes of classified material, for in camera review.

PARTIAL COMPLAINT: Plaintiffs learned from Larry Berberich, head of security at Prestancia Sarasota Fl that the license plates of vehicles that had passed through the Prestancia community’s north gate in the months before the 9/11 attacks, coupled with the identification documents shown by incoming drivers on request, showed that cars driven by Al-Qaeda terrorists Mohamed Atta, Marwan al-Shehhi, Walid al-Shehri, Ziad Jarrah, and Adnan Shukrijumah had visited 4224 Escondito Circle Prestancia Sarasota Fl.  Mohamed Atta has been identified by the U.S. Government as the leader of the 9/11 hijack team. According to government reports, the 9/11 hijack team consisted of nineteen individuals for four airplanes. Atta piloted American Airlines Flight 11 into the North Tower of the World Trade Center. Walid al-Shehri is reportedly one of five hijackers of American Airlines Flight 11. Marwan al-Shehhi is reportedly the hijacker-pilot of United Airlines Flight 175. Al-Shehhi crashed the plane into the South Tower of the World Trade Center. Ziad Jarrah is reportedly the hijacker-pilot of United Airlines Flight 93. After a passenger uprising, Flight 93 crashed into a field in a rural area in Somerset County, Pennsylvania. On August 30, 2001, Ziad Jarrah reportedly purchased a ticket for United Airlines Flight 93. Ziad Jarrah was the second-to-last hijacker to purchase a ticket. Thus, on or about the day that Ziad Jarrah reportedly purchased his ticket for Flight 93, the al-Hijjis reportedly left their luxury home, leaving their newly purchased car in the driveway, along with one or two other cars, a house full of furniture, a refrigerator full of food, clothes in the closet, and an open, empty safe in the master bedroom. While the 9/11 Commission was doing its work, the FBI continued its investigation of the persons at 4224 Escondito Circle but never revealed to the 9/11 Commission their results of the Sarasota Saudi family. The public has a legitimate interest in knowing (1) whether the Saudi nationals who resided at and/or owned the home at 4224 Escondito Circle provided support to the terrorists who carried out the 9/11 attacks on the United States; (2) whether the United States government is aware of such support being provided by those individuals; and (3) whether the DOJ and the FBI have concealed information about this investigation from Congress and from the American public.

In January 2003 St Louis Post-Dispatch reporter Karen Branch-Brioso interviewed the then acting Imam at the Islamic Society of Sarasota and Bradenton to obtain information about Imam Muneer Arafat for her article “U.S. Looks For Local Terror Ties, Sources Say“, this is where she obtained the timeline of Muneer Arafat coming to Sarasota Fl from the St Louis area in March of 2000: U.S. LOOKS FOR LOCAL TERROR TIES, SOURCES SAY; 2 MOSQUES, FUND RAISING DRAW  SCRUTINY OF FEDERAL GRAND JURY.(NEWS)..Article from: St Louis  Post-Dispatch (MO) | January 20, 2003 | Branch-Brioso,  Karen; Shinkle  St. Louis Post-Dispatch…Byline: Karen Branch-Brioso, And Peter Shinkle Of The Post-Dispatch   A wide-ranging federal grand jury investigation in St. Louis is looking into  possible terrorist connections in the Muslim community here, according to people  familiar with the inquiry. Among the subjects of the investigation are two small mosques, Muslim businessmen and fund-raising efforts for Palestinian groups. Prosecutors also have asked grand jury witnesses about Ziyad Sadaqa aka Ziyad Khaleel, a former resident of Columbia, Mo., and the St. Louis area who bought the satellite telephone that al-Qaida leaders used to plot the 1998 U.S. Embassy bombings in  Kenya and Tanzania. Sadaqa aka Khaleel, who was never charged in the bombings, raised money  here for Palestinian groups. He reportedly was killed in an auto accident in  Saudi Arabia last year, but federal authorities apparently suspect he may still  be alive. “The feds thought that this Ziyad guy faked his death at hajj (the pilgrimage  to Mecca) to get out of legal trouble,” said a source familiar with the  prosecutors’ questioning.  Assistant U.S. Attorney Michael Fagan, who heads the St. Louis anti-terrorism  task force formed after the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, would not discuss or  even confirm the existence of the investigation. One of the witnesses was Imam Muneer Arafat, who formerly lived in Manchester IL...Muneer Arafat is a Kuwaiti of Palestinian descent, Arafat was arrested in November 2002 in Sarasota Fl for overstaying his visa…a Mosque official Husni Albarguthi filling in as Imam at the Sarasota Mosque in Arafat’s absence said Muneer Arafat came to the Sarasota Fl Mosque in March of 2000 from the St Louis area and moved into a apartment complex at Central Sarasota Pkwy unit #1813, Sarasota, FL 34238 on 02/25/2000.

Sarasota Imam Muneer Arafat’s prior roommate in Columbia MO, Manchester, MO  and St Louis was Al-Qaeda agent Ziyad Sadaqa aka Ziyad Khaleel who purchased and shipped a satellite phone for Osama bin Laden to be used in the 1998 US Embassy bombings in Africa. Sarasota Imam Muneer Arafat and Ziyad Khaleel aka Ziyad Sadaqa were fund raisers who gathered up $20,000 for the Holy Land Foundation for Relief and Development (HLF) in Texas. On May 27th, 2009, U.S. District Judge Jorge A. Solis sentenced the Holy Land Foundation for Relief and Development (HLF) and five of its leaders following their convictions by a federal jury in November 2008 on charges of providing material support to Hamas a designated terrorist organization. HLF was incorporated by Shukri Abu Baker, Mohammad El-Mezain, and Ghassan Elashi. Mufid Abdulqader and Abdulrahman Odeh worked as fund raisers, they received individual prison terms from 15 years up to 65 years, Muneer Arafat for some reason got a pass

Sarasota Imam Muneer Arafat was the subject of a article January 22, 2016 on FrontPage Mag by Joe Kaufman whereby Kaufman claimed:In January 2002, a decision was made by ISSB to hire as its full-time imam Muneer Arafat and have Arafat relocate from New York, where he had a residence at the time“. This is a total fabrication by FrontPage Mag and Joe Kaufman. In a conversation with Joe Kaufman on January 21st 2016 I told him that Muneer Arafat come from the St Louis area to Sarasota Fl in March of 2000, this fact is well documented, Kaufman appears to have disregarded the facts and fabricate the story about Muneer Arafat coming to Sarasota Fl in January 2002 from New York City, a total lie.
