WASHINGTON (AP) — Ivanka Trump says she's "incredibly proud" of her dad for running for president. But she's more ambivalent about whether she's happy about it. Trump's oldest daughter appeared at a Fortune magazine forum on Thursday. She was asked if she's happy about Donald Trump's presidential bid.
She called that "a complicated question." Ivanka Trump went on to say that as a citizen, she loves what her father is doing. But she added that as a daughter, "it's obviously more complicated" because of the intense level of scrutiny her father is facing. Ivanka Trump said her father was changing the dialogue of the presidential race and, in her words, "disrupting the process in a very positive way."
BREAKING: Donald Trump: If I were a Democrat, I'd have Secret Service by now. No wonder Trump carries a .38 caliber revolver. Washington (CNN)Despite attracting huge crowds, Donald Trump believes the government has not yet granted him Secret Service protection because he is a Republican "They're in no rush because I'm a Republican. "They don't give a shit," Trump jokingly told the Hill. "I want to put them on notice because they should have a liability," he said. "Personally, I think if Obama were doing as well as me he would've had Secret Service [earlier]. I have by far the biggest crowds." "Of course I don't think they'd want anything to happen. But I would think they should be very proactive and want protection for somebody like me that has 20,000 people at any time," Trump said.
GOP presidential hopeful Donald Trump said Friday the government should expand gun rights for law-abiding citizens and focus more on cracking down on violent criminals and making sure guns don’t fall into the hands of the mentally ill. Mr. Trump made the arguments in a “position paper” on the Second Amendment in which he makes the case that people who don’t break the law should be able to obtain a concealed carry permit allowing them to carry in every state, and that members of the military should be able to carry their arms on military bases and at recruitment centers.
Donald Trump admits that he has a concealed carry permit in New York City. Presidential Candidate Donald Trump said he owns two pistols a “H&K .45 and a .38 Smith & Wesson.” Asked about the gun-control measures being pushed by people like New York Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg, Mr. Trump said that, “The way I view it, if nobody has guns, then only the bad guys have them. And they aren’t giving up their guns.” Mr. Trump said an example of this was seen in the Aurora, Colo. shooting. “If some of the people in the movie theater had a gun, they’d have been shooting at him. Nobody had a gun so they were totally defenseless.”
