Press & Sun Bulletin Binghamton: Brandon Himko Arrested By Cybercops on Federal Child Porn Charges, Himko's Priors Include Rape of Mentally Disabled 14 Year Old Girl.

There is a direct correlation between the use and down loading of child porn by men and sexual assaults on children, both male and female children.

JOHNSON CITY NY -- Brandon Himko, 27, of Johnson City, has been charged with multiple felonies related to child pornography, according to prosecutors. A federal arrest warrant charged Himko with production of child pornography, attempted production of child pornography, and receiving child pornography.

According to a news release, Himko is alleged to have enticed a minor female to send pictures to him last December 2011. A federal magistrate ordered him held in federal custody pending a trial, which has yet to be set. The federal charges carry a mandatory minimum term of 25 years and a possible maximum imprisonment term of life. The investigation of Brandon Himko was conducted by the Southern Tier Cyber Predator Task Force, State Police in Endwell and the Broome County Sheriffs Office.

According to the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services, Brandon Himko is a level 3 sex offender, the most likely to re-offend. Brandon Himko of Johnson City joins the ranks of George F. Wheeler IV of Binghamton and Richard Pierce Jr. of Apalachin, who were also arrested on Federal Child Porn Charges, Pierce got 20 years in Federal lock-up.
