OCCUPY SARASOTA PROTESTERS.
SARASOTA HERALD TRIBUNE 3/01/2012....Chris Young has retained criminal defense attorney Derek Byrd, who took the case pro bono. On Sunday, the ACLU announced it was starting an investigation into Young's arrest, and on Monday the group made numerous public records requests related to the arrest and hired a private investigator who is interviewing witnesses.
Sarasota Police Officer John Neri, who did surveillance on the Saturday 2/25/2012 protest from the nearby Selby Library, charged Young with trespass, resisting arrest, obstructing pedestrian traffic and tampering with public property. Police said Young was arrested after he failed to follow commands to leave.
Maryellin Kirkwood organized a counter-protest after learning of the ACLU's plans because of an encounter she said she had with Young three weeks ago. Christopher Young yelled at her, she said, after Kirkwood "scuffed up" one of his chalk slogans with her shoe. "They're no different than aggressive panhandlers," she said of the Occupy Sarasota members. "They're panhandling for attention." "If you disobey an order from a policeman, you deserve to be arrested," she said.
Jim Williams said he had a similar yelling match with Young on Saturday after commenting about the Occupy Sarasota clique. "He got in my face, yelling," Williams said. "I was very calm, but I obviously got under his skin."
The far left Occupy Sarasota poster boy Chris Young, supposedly a disabled Iraq War Vet, is claiming that the Sarasota Police Department (SPD) abused his civil rights when he was arrested last weekend, 2/25/2012. Christopher Michael Young DOB 12/24/1971 as seen on his arrest intake card at the Sarasota County Jail, is from Joliet IL, Chris Young according to all accounts is 40 years old.
ACCORDING TO THE SARASOTA HERALD TRIBUNE, Chris Young’s disability is not related to his service in the Navy….He became involved with Occupy Sarasota out of concern for what he described as the growing influence of corporations and for “nonsense laws,” such as smoking and sleeping bans in Five Points Park.
Christopher Young a Joliet IL native served in the U.S. Navy during Desert Storm, and recalled the heightened level of security aboard ship during the war, and the round-the-clock watches. He became a truck driver after leaving the Navy, until he injured his back in 2001. Disabled and in chronic pain, Young was forced to move to Florida in 2004 and live with family.
The Persian Gulf War codenamed Operation Desert Storm, January 17, 1991 – February 28, 1991 was a 42 day war, commonly referred to as simply the Gulf War, waged by a U.N.-authorized coalition force from 34 nations led by the United States, against Iraq in response to Iraq's invasion and annexation of Kuwait. Occupy Sarasota poster boy Christopher Young would have been about 20 years old during this time frame of Jan 1991 to Feb 1991.
Chris Young was not arrested for for writing slogans in chalk on a sidewalk outside Five Points Park in Sarasota, Christopher Young from Joliet Illinois, was arrested for for trespassing after warning, resisting a police officer and obstruction, see link for charges http://courtweb.co.sarasota.fl.us/crimapp/crimdetail.asp?case_id=50184273

The far left tactics of the “Occupy” goons should not be tolerated for one second, we do not need the garbage and filth strewn around downtown Sarasota like what happened in New York City and elsewhere.
Christopher M. Young baited and verbally harangued SPD Officer Neri, Christopher M. Young was combative from the start when SPD Officer Neri approached him. SPD Officer Neri ordered Young to stop writing on the sidewalk and leave the park, not once but twice, Chris Young completely ignored SPD Officer Neri.
SPD Officer Neri then attempted to arrest Young for trespassing after warning, Young pulled away from SPD Officer Neri and attempted to defeat his actions, Chris Young appears to have a problem dealing with cops, read it all above. This whole "arrest protest" thing looks like a set-up by the Occupy Sarasota goons to get some face time on TV.
Chris Young has several anti-government slogans posted on the back window of his Chevy van, such as "End the FED" and "End the DEA", what problems has Chris Young had with law enforcement at the Drug Enforcement Agency, someone needs to investigate what interaction “Christopher Young” has had with cops in Joliet IL and elsewhere.
"Occupy Sarasota poster boy Chris Young" is loving the ACLU involvement and the free attorney service of Derek Byrd and of course the inevitable upcoming law suit that will be filed against the Sarasota Police Department and the City of Sarasota Fl and who do you think ends up paying for that, we do.
