Christopher M. Young was not arrested for for writing slogans in chalk on a sidewalk outside Five Points Park in Sarasota, Christopher M. Young was arrested for for trespassing after warning, resisting a police officer and obstruction.

The far left tactics of the "Occupy" goons should not be tolerated for one second, we do not need the garbage and filth strewn around downtown Sarasota like what happened in New York City.  Christopher M. Young baited and verbally harangued SPD Officer Neri, Christopher M. Young was combative from the start when SPD Officer Neri approached him.

SPD Officer Neri ordered Young to stop writing on the sidewalk and leave the park, not once but twice, Young completely ignored SPD Officer Neri.  SPD Officer Neri then attempted to arrest Young for trespassing after warning, Young pulled away from SPD Officer Neri and attempted to defeat his actions, read it all above.  This whole thing looks like a set-up by the Occupy Sarasota goons to get some face time on TV.

                                                       OCCUPY SARASOTA PROTESTERS

SARASOTA HERALD TRIBUNE...The defense attorney who is taking the chalk-arrest case for free summed up Chris Young's treatment pretty well in a few words. "It's so ticky tacky," attorney Derek Byrd said.  Young, 40, is a long-haired, bearded Iraq war veteran and former truck driver who uses a cane to assist him when walking.

A Sarasota Police officer arrested him over the weekend, after Young allegedly didn't comply with an order to stop writing with chalk on the walkway at downtown Sarasota's Five Points Park. The Herald-Tribune is reporting today that the Sarasota chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union is investigating the arrest of an Occupy Sarasota protester this past weekend.

SARASOTA HERALD TRIBUNE, Chris Young's disability is not related to his service in the Navy....He became involved with Occupy Sarasota out of concern for what he described as the growing influence of corporations and for “nonsense laws,” such as smoking and sleeping bans in Five Points Park.

An Joliet Illinois native, Chris Young served in the U.S. Navy during Desert Storm, and recalled the heightened level of security aboard ship during the war, and the round-the-clock watches. He became a truck driver after leaving the Navy, until he injured his back in 2001. Disabled and in chronic pain, Young was forced to move to Florida in 2004 and live with family.

Police arrested 40-year-old Chris Young, HIS PHOTO ABOVE, for writing slogans in chalk on a sidewalk outside Five Points Park in Sarasota this weekend. Young was protesting the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC), a powerful right-wing public policy group. The group has influenced legislation in states all over the country, including Florida for the past few years.
