BBC News...The UK home secretary is banning Muslims Against Crusades (MAC), a group that planned an anti-Armistice Day protest. Mrs May said she was satisfied that Muslims Against Crusades (MAC) was "simply another name for an organisation already proscribed under a number of names".
"The organisation was proscribed in 2006 for glorifying terrorism and we are clear it should not be able to continue these activities by simply changing its name," she said. Muslims Against Crusades is the latest incarnation of an organisation originally set up by extremist preacher Omar Bakri Mohammed, his photo above, who fled the UK six years ago.
Its previous versions are all proscribed groups. Most recently, it has been involved in potential stand-offs with the English Defence League and it also demonstrated outside the US Embassy on the 10th anniversary of 9/11.
PARTIAL LIST OF UK PROSCRIBED INTERNATIONAL TERRORIST GROUPS; The UK Government laid Orders, in January 2010 and November 2011, which provide that Al Muhajiroun, Islam4UK, Call to Submission, Islamic Path, London School of Sharia and Muslims Against Crusades should be treated as alternative names for the organisation which is already proscribed under the names Al Ghurabaa and The Saved Sect. Al-Muhajiroun and its variously named successor organisations have always craved media attention in order to help further their goal of creating discord and polarising relations between communities in the UK.

Al Muhajiroun's American members, included Syed Hashmi, a Brooklyn college graduate who traveled to Pakistan in 2003 and now awaits trial on charges of providing material support to the terrorist network, he was convicted otnterror charges.
Another Al Muhajiroun member was Mohammed Junaid Babar, a trainee Queens taxi driver, who met two of the July 7, 2005, London bombers in Pakistan and who in 2004 pleaded guilty to providing material support to terrorists in Pakistan. Al Muhajiroun was formally disbanded in October 2004 but still operates, CNN discovered, under a variety of guises (Islamic Thinkers Society).
Anjem Choudhary, the former deputy leader of Al Muhajiroun, told CNN that New York was one of the organization's main hubs before 2004. He says dozens of followers from the New York area still regularly tune into online sermons put together by the group's founder Omar Bakri Mohammed in Tripoli, Lebanon, where he has been living since being banned from the UK after the 2005 London bombings.
