Newtown Murder Suspect Shawn Tyson Is Member Of Violent "Second Line Gang" Who Wear Black Ski Masks and Use Semi Automatic Weapons During Armed Robberies.

Shawn Tyson, who lives in Newtown Public Housing with his mother, has been charged with double murder of British Tourists James Cooper, 25, and James Kouzaris, 24 who were shot in the back, Shawn Tyson faces the death penalty if convicted.

Shawn Tyson, a school dropout who has the street nickname of “Young Savage” and a tattoo bearing the same words on his chest, had been arrested earlier this month after allegedly shooting at a car, but was released from a juvenile detention centre after witnesses failed to show up to give evidence at a court hearing….NO SNITCHIN.

The "Young Savage" tattoo that Shawn Tyson has on his chest is the gang tag of the violent Newtown Second Line Gang, it was also used by DeAndre Tunstall who has a ”Young Savage Tattoo” on his forearm and was the ringleader of the renegade Second Line Street Gang before he ended up in the Florida State prison system for 2nd degree murder.

SARASOTA HERALD TRIBUNE ARTICLE. Published: Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at 4:01 p.m.  Tourism officials defend Sarasota.  In yesterdays Sarasota Herald Tribune article the reporter indicates that the British Press is overstating the murder of two British tourists with over the top headlines and misrepresentation; "In their coverage of the slayings of two British tourists here, newspapers in England describe Newtown as a "ghetto" and refer to the killings as a "gang ambush. Under a bold headline "Gunned down in the Ghetto," the British tabloid known as the Daily Mail devoted its entire front page to the weekend shootings of James Cooper and James Kouzaris in Newtown. The crime also drew prominent, sometimes salacious, coverage in other British national newspapers and in TV and radio broadcasts. The grisly stories have forced Sarasota city officials into into full damage-control mode to protect the city's reputation as a sunny, sandy tourism haven.

Mayor Kelly Kirschner spoke on BBC radio during early-morning hours. In Britain, a PR company is working to combat the storyline "that a pair of British tourists were slaughtered after being lured into a car and taken to a gang of killers in a deadly ambush," as one British newspaper reported. "We're seeing these sensational stories coming out of some of the British tabloids that this is a gangland type of thing and rampant violence," Kirschner told BBC radio.

Sarasota Realtor Shannon Moore said she has received more than half a dozen calls from clients, with some expressing doubts about owning a property in Sarasota. "The British press is killing me," said Moore. "I'm getting swamped with people from the U.K., from Canada saying, 'What's going on in Sarasota?" She cited one Daily Mail online story that spoke of a crime wave in Sarasota when "violence was so bad many residents stopped wearing jewelry in public for fear of being robbed." The story also quotes an anonymous blogger who writes: "The Courts public housing project is a cesspit. There are drug dealers and hookers openly plying their trade at all hours." The Mirror, another British tabloid, reports that the two were lured into a car and "taken to a gang of killers in a deadly ambush.""It's not like everyone is walking around carrying semi-automatic weapons," Moore said. "That would be the impression I get reading the British papers."

Virginia Haley, president of the Sarasota visitors bureau, said her office has been monitoring news coverage and reaching out to United Kingdom customers in the aftermath of the shooting. "We have to make sure we're not dealing with crazy rumors," Haley said Monday.

CRAZY RUMORS ?  Well here is a reality check for the Sarasota Herlad Tribune, Virginia Haley and Sarasota Realtor Shannon Moore, those British Newspapers are quoting an article published just 6 months ago in the Sarasota Herald Tribune about Newtown’s violent “Second Line Gang” who were packin semi-automatic weapons doing robberies and killing people.

SARASOTA HERLAD TRIBUNE, Published: Monday, October 11, 2010. SPECIAL REPORT: Newtown’s violent “Second Line Gang” (with “Young Savage Tattoo”).   For months, Second Line gang members armed with semi-automatic guns roved the Newtown neighborhood at night, looking for somebody to stick up. In 2008 and 2009 they took street violence to a new level in Newtown, a one-square-mile collection of homes and apartments where people call each other by nicknames from childhood and families go back three and four generations.

Twelve people were shot and killed in and around Newtown in the two-year period from February 2008 to February 2010. Gang members are either suspected, charged or convicted in eight of those homicides. At its peak, the gang violence was so bad that many residents stopped wearing jewelry in public for fear of being robbed.  Police responded with an increased focus on gang activity that led to two murder convictions against key members of the Second Line gang.

Second Line Gang members killed six people, police say, in one eight-month period. They shot and killed a grocery clerk over a $300 gold chain. They shot and killed a dental assistant who happened to drive by a robbery. And in the middle of the day in a crowded parking lot, they shot and killed a U.S. Marine reservist outside a convenience store.

In my capacity as a private investigator I am often doing Insurance Fraud and Workers Comp Fraud cases in the general vicinity of Newtown and the North Side of Sarasota Fl.  Let's get real here, the Newtown area of MLK Blvd has drug dealers and look-outs on bikes stationed on about every other street corner ready and willing to make a deal or to signal a nearby drug house if Five-O comes down the street, this happens at 10:00 am or 10:00 pm 24/7. If I have to do surveilance in the Newtown-North Side area of Sarasota Fl you can be sure that I have a weapon in my vehicle to protect myself.
