Ground Zero Mosque Developer Sharif El-Gamal Does Not Have The "Goods", He Acts Like a Mob Enforcer.

Ground Zero Mosque Developer Sharif El-Gamal, his photo above, does not have the finances, the backing, an architect, building permits, a nonprofit staus and a legal right to collect funds, at this point, for his Park51 project, he does have a criminal record.
Defendant: Sharif M. El-Gamal, 37,;
1. Nassau County, NY: 1990—disorderly conduct
2. Nassau County, NY: 1992—DWI
3. Nassau County, NY: 1993—attempted petit larceny
4. Nassau County, NY: 1994—patronizing a prostitute
5. Manhattan: 1994—disorderly conduct
6. Manhattan: 1998—disorderly conduct
7. Manhattan: 1999—disordery conduct

UPDATE...The Ground Zero Mosque developers, Sharif El-Gamal and SOHO Properties, are tax deadbeats. Sharif El-Gamal, the leading organizer behind the mosque and community center near Ground Zero, owes $224,270.77 in back property tax on the site, city records show.  El-Gamal's company, 45 Park Place Partners, failed to pay its half-yearly bills in January and July, according to the city Finance Department.   The delinquency is a possible violation of El-Gamal's lease with Con Edison, which owns half of the proposed building site on Park Place. El-Gamal owns the other half but must pay taxes on the entire parcel.

'Ground Zero Mosque' a Pipe Dream?  The Daily Beast's Asra Nomani tells Fox News that planners are far short of the $100 million needed for the mosque—and that developer Sharif El-Gamal asked her not to write her story about the Cordoba House, now dubbed Park51 and their nonprofit status, which they do not have.  Sharif El-Gamal's Park51 fundraising effort, thus far, is just a drop in the bucket, a PayPal account with less than $9,000 in it, mostly from New Yorkers, raised by a group of Muslim moms in Manhattan whose original aim was to host a peace march.
Asra Q Nomani, her photo above, is an Indian-American journalist, author, and feminist, known as an activist involved in the Muslim reform and Islamic feminist movements. She teaches journalism at Georgetown University and is co-director of the Pearl Project, a faculty-student, investigative-reporting project into the kidnapping and murder of Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl.

Ground Zero Mosque developer Sharif El-Gamal has a criminal record with seven run ins with the cops.  Sharif El-Gamal  pleaded guilty in 1994, 1998 and 1999 to disorderly conduct in Manhattan. He also pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct in 1990, DWI in 1992 and attempted petit larceny in 1993, Nassau County prosecutors said. Details were unavailable, but a source confirmed a 1994 arrest for patronizing a prostitute.

Sharif El-Gamal was acting like a low-level mob enforcer when he strong armed Mark Vassiliev in an attempt to collect money due for back rent.  Sharif El-Gamal was charged with misdemeanor assault and harassment. Charges were dropped in 2007 after Vassiliev sued. El-Gamal eventually settled the civil case for $15,000 - and the 2008 negotiations provided a glimpse into his finances. Vassiliev's lawyer, Erik L. Gray, said there was no indication El-Gamal had assets beyond a $1.1 million upper West Side pad he owned with his wife.

Sharif El-Gamal and his SOHO Properties are the subject of a investigation by the NYS Division of Licensing Real Estate in Manhattan for non-payment of apartment rental deposits to customers that were supposed to be in escrow…The NYS Division of Licensing Real Estate in Manhattan will neither confirm or deny that there is a investigation into Sharif El-Gamal and SOHO Properties that started in May of 2010.

Sharif El-Gamal was supposedly a long time associate of a man by the name of Dov P., my confidential informants in NYC claim that Sharif El-Gamal had been involved with some illegal activity at the SOHO Grand Hotel 310 West Broadway, New York, NY.  Dov P. spends his time traveling between New York City and Miami Fl.

Sharif El-Gamal through his SOHO Properties bought the old Burlington Coat Factory building at 45 Park Place for $4.8 million in cash in July 2009. Sharif El-Gamal set up three different NYS corporations and limited liability companies in early July 2009 to handle the Park51 building project for the Ground Zero Mosque;

There are some real problems here with the Park51 project and Sharif El-Gamal, would you let Sharif El-Gamal handle $100 Million when he can not repay apartment deposits to his clients.
