So Robert's talk is to be on Tuesday, March 30 at 12:30PM at Florida State University, maybe yes and maybe no.

FSU Dean of Students....Dean Weidner and Prof Atkinson have been receiving hate mail all day yesterday. "We do not want to give them the attention they want so we've decided to just ask everyone in our organization (unless they want to go that's up to them) but it would make a stronger statement if we boycott their event all together!

"Who exactly is Robert Spencer, (his photo on r. above)? He is the self proclaimed expert on Islam but has no Ph.D. Before 9/11 he was a writer for Catholic Magazines, but then after he comes talking about Islam being connected to terror. How did a little-known writer became famous in such a short time? Also after 9/11 numerous sources say he studied Islam for 20 years. Yet none of his articles before 9/11 even mention his studies in Islam or any religion at all on (his site).

March 2010....Robert Spencer and his gal pal Pamela Gelller were just recently cancelled from a supposed showing of one of MP Geert Wilders movies in Los Angeles, they have been making hasty claims that they are not at fault.

February 2010....“Unofficial” CPAC Event Takes On Islam Panned" Fox News, Everyone knows Islam is a religion of peace that has been hijacked by a tiny minority," said Robert Spencer, sarcastically and to a great amount of applause and guffaws. Spencer, executive director of Jihad Watch and associate director of the Freedom Defense Initiative, which he recently founded with  blogger Pamela Geller, told his audience everyone believes that "like they believe in Santa Claus though no one has ever seen it." He declared that "conservative media leaders even parrot this line" that Islam is a peaceful religion at its core.

So defined the event, which repeated the group's message, that political correctness was preventing the American people -- elected officials and the government included -- from acknowledging -- in Geller's words -- that Islamists "have infiltrated at every level of society and all levels of government." Spencer called recent complaints that full body scanners at airports violate the privacy and modesty of Muslim women according to Islamic law and attempts to accommodate them a "perversity," "absurdity" since Muslims "themselves made (scanners) necessary."  The event was on CPAC's schedule, but CPAC organizers said it was "unofficial" and sponsored by outside groups. Attendees were asked for picture identification because they did not want "certain people coming in," said one guard. Pamela Geller had drawn controversy last year when she attempted to set up a similar forum, officially, featuring Dutch anti-Islamic activist Geert Wilders.

July 2009...Robert Spencer was invited by the ALA (American Library Association) to participate on a panel discussing the topic, Perspectives on Islam: Beyond The Stereotypes.  To summarize, close to the date of the event one of the panelists, Dr. Marcia Hermansen, discovered that Spencer would be on the panel. She informed the other panelists, one of the panelists decided to drop out in protest while Hermansen and the other panelist decided to stay on.  In the meantime various scholars, ALA member librarians, concerned citizens contacted the ALA to lodge their protest and demand to know why a notorious Islam hater was on a panel meant to dispel stereotypes about Islam, as did groups like CAIR-Chicago and CIOGC later on. The ALA lagged in their response and the remaining two panelists decided to drop out which lead the ALA to cancel the event.

Robert Spencer, his photo above, is the director of Jihad Watch, a program of the David Horowitz Freedom Center, and the author of eight books on Islam and jihad. Spencer is a weekly columnist for Human Events and FrontPage Magazine which the owner of is his boss and pays Spencer.
Spencer has also written eleven monographs and well over three hundred articles about jihad and Islamic terrorism. Along with the bestsellers The Truth About Muhammad, Founder of the World's Most Intolerant Religion (Regnery) and The Politically Incorrect Guide to Islam (and the Crusades) (Regnery), he is the author of Islam Unveiled: Disturbing Questions About the World's Fastest Growing Faith (Encounter); Onward Muslim Soldiers:

Spencer postures himself as an "Islamic Scholar,"  but he has no Ph.D.  But unlike most people we tend to call "scholars," Spencer did not burden himself with the traditional scholarly route that puts an emphasis on objectivity and academic rigor.

There is a good reason for this: his "scholarly" methodologies would not jive in any of our nation's accredited PhD programs let alone a path for tenure where he would have to get his papers peer-reviewed and have his methodology checked by notable scholars for objectivity and a lack of bias (unless, of course, David Horowitz decides to build the David Horowitz Freedom University).

Spencer dismisses such criticism as follows: he is right, and all of the tenured professors of Islamic studies, with their inconvenient knack for unbiased scholarship, are wrong. After all, universities are the establishment of the left-wing liberal conspiracy.
Besides who needs peer-reviewed papers, Spencer seems content to receive rave reviews from Weasel Zippers, Nice Doggie, the idiot Atlas Shrugs her photo above, Muslims are Terrorists, and of course,, that other gem of a creation, and bastion of objectivity, by the guy who cuts his checks, in other words Spencer is a phony.
