Public art panel says it ain't art and 'UNCONDITIONAL SURRENDER' can't stay says art chairwoman Virginia Hoffman, Sarasota Scammer Art Nadel’s ex-wife

Sarasota public art panel says it isn't art and 'UNCONDITIONAL SURRENDER' can't stay so says art committee chairwoman Virginia Hoffman, Sarasota Scammer Art Nadel’s ex-wife of 15 years.

Public Art committee chairwoman Virginia Hoffman, who said the corrosion and a flimsy base could cause the sculpture to topple in a hurricane. The committee voted 5-0 against the sculpture. About 40 people attended the hearing. "They just blew off the people of Sarasota," said Rich Swier, president of the county's veterans commission.

Veterans are calling for "Unconditional Surrender" to become a permanent fixture on the bayfront. They say that an engineer has already determined the 6,000-pound aluminum sculpture could withstand hurricane winds. They say the sculpture is a reminder of a classic moment in American history and a tribute to the men and women who served their country. The veterans have collected 4,000 petition signatures in support of keeping the sculpture.

They also took reinforcements to City Hall: State Sen. Mike Bennett, R- Bradenton, who also is a veteran, who had some choice words for the committee. "Their arrogance is astounding to me," Bennett said.

Who are these Public Art Committee people, don't they know that hundreds if not thousands of WWII vets live in the Sarasota-Bradenton-St Pete Fl area ? Have they no knowledge of history and what these WWII vets did in the 1940's, see my prior post BAND OF WARNER BROTHERS AT D-DAY INVASION OF NORMANDY & STE.-MERE-EGLISE WITH THE 82nd AIRBORNE ON 6/06/44 , Robert Warner is buried in Sarasota Memorial Park.
