Former Buc Hires Private Eye To Find Super Bowl Rings, PI Bill Warner Says the Scammers are Decending on Tampa "Watch Out for Hot Merchandise".

Former defensive back Thomas Everett's missing merchandise includes Super Bowl rings from the 1992 and 1993 Dallas Cowboys. Watches and an empty safe also were swiped in what appears to have been a standard residential burglary at Everett's Dallas home, Dallas police say.

"An investigation was suspended pending further leads that may pop up," said Senior Cpl. Kevin Janse, a Dallas police spokesman.

No suspects are known, and no items have been recovered, Janse said.
Everett, 44, played for the
Pittsburgh Steelers in the late 1980s and early 1990s. He played with Dallas in 1992 and 1993 and with the Bucs in 1994 and 1995. The missing Super Bowl rings have Everett's last name on them.

"Those things have sentimental value," said Everett, who now works in athlete development training and coaches high school football. "A lot of hard work and sweat went into them. Whoever got them, I hope they're having chest pains for the rest of their lives."

The Super Bowl rings were valued at $10,000 each, the watches were worth a combined $13,000, and the safe was worth $400, a Dallas Police Department report states.

Private investigator Bill Warner, who was contacted by Everett, said it makes perfect sense to search in the Tampa Bay area right now because the Super Bowl draws a large crowd seeking NFL merchandise.

One of Everett's former teams, the Pittsburgh Steelers, faces the Arizona Cardinals in Sunday's Super Bowl at Raymond James Stadium.

In a converstion today with the Dallas Police Departmnet, North Division, there appears to have been no leads generated on Mr. Thomas Everett's stolen Super Bowl Rings since Jan. 2006, case no. 37324R. Dallas Police, North Division, phone 214-670-7236.

Thomas G. Everett #27 played in the NFL with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 1994 -1995 Dallas Cowboys 1992 - 1993 Pittsburgh Steelers 1987 - 1991, he went to the Pro Bowl in 1993, he was Inducted into the Texas High School Football Hall Of Fame in 1998 and he was Inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame 2006/2007.
