AMW SATURDAY 11/01/08......Cops in Arkansas are searching for the unknown suspect (UNSUB) who beat a television anchorwoman to death. Anne Pressly, 26, died nearly a week after she was beaten in her home, and as a precautionary measure, cops have distributed pepper spray to local television news personalities who may be targeted as well. A reward fund established by KATV topped $50,000 by late Wednesday afternoon, Your tips do make a difference. Provide all the information you can. If you'd like to talk to a Hotline specialist, call AMW at 1-800-CRIME-TV.

Police say the pepper spray was donated by an anonymous donor. Brad Garrett, a former FBI agent and ABC News contributor, said the attack has many earmarks related to stalking. "Someone who is struck multiple times tends to lend itself to someone who had an obsession with her or knew her, because it's personal versus someone who was going to steal," Garrett told "Good Morning America." Anne Pressly, suffered cuts and bruises to her upper body and head caused by an unknown blunt object.

Police haven't ruled out the possibility that the assault was motivated by Pressly's portrayal of a slim blonde right-wing pundit (Anne Coutler) in the new Oliver Stone biopic about President Bush, "W". Anne Pressly's father speaks out about the brutal attack on his daughter. Guy Cannady says he wonders if the attacker targeted his daughter because of her high profile job as a news anchor at KATV.
Little Rock, Ark.

Employees at a fitness center in Little Rock told AMW producers that police collected surveillance video from a camera on the exterior of their facility, which was trained on a nearby road.Along with the surveillance video from the gym, police have collected video from a Shell gas station. A clerk there told AMW that Anne's credit card was used at one of the gas pumps there the night of her attack.

The employee said that there was a surveillance camera working on the premises, and that the video has been turned over to police, but investigators working the case have not confirmed this information. The last contact Anne had with anyone was through a text message with a friend at 9:50 p.m. on October 19, 2008.

The back door was unlocked (front door was locked) because Anne Presley had two dogs and most likely had taken them outside to do their business before she left for work, most likely the man was watching from his vehicle parked in the street near her home and moved in as she was bringing the dogs back inside, "dogs were found outside and no sign of forced entry". Police aren't discounting any theories either.
One theory involves Pressly's back door and whether her attacker gained entry as she let her dogs out.
