Al-Shabab, now an autonomous rebel group which has added an explosive element to the combustible mix of Mogadishu’s militias, enforces strict sharia (Islamic law) and uses tactics imported from the global jihadi movement. As in Afghanistan, those who work or trade with the government (AID WORKERS) risk being branded as spies or collaborators and beheaded as a warning to others.

Aid workers being shot, killed in Somalia, Earlier this week, the World Food Program said a truck driver carrying its relief supplies was killed -- the fourth WFP driver killed in Somalia this year. Ahmed Saalim was shot when fighting broke out between convoy escorts and militiamen at a checkpoint, the U.N. aid agency.

In February a roadside bomb killed three people working for Médecins Sans Frontières, forcing the aid organisation to withdraw all its international staff. Last month Murray Watson, 69, a British flood prevention expert, was kidnapped by six gunmen in the south of the country. He and a Kenyan colleague are still missing. Two Somali-born Britons who had returned to build a school in the town of Baladwayne were shot dead by rebels with links to Al-Shabab. Last week the group announced that it would target all white people in Somalia.
Somali insurgents vowed to target foreign aid workers after a US air strike killed the head of the al-Shabab militant group in May 2008. Al-Shabab is the militant wing of the UIC, which ruled much of Somalia in 2006 before being ousted by Ethiopian forces backed by Somali government troops

Heavily armed clans - Somalia The latest victim in an opposition campaign against aid workers was Osman Ali Ahmed, who was head of the United Nations Development Programme in the Somali capital Mogadishu for 14 years. On Sunday evening Osman Ali Ahmed was shot through the head by unknown assailants as he left a mosque with his 18-year-old son. Two weeks ago the head of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees was abducted.

The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs says the security situation in Somalia has "worsened dramatically" in the past week. It is also getting increasingly difficult to provide assistance because aid workers have become a deliberate target. Recently ten aid workers from other organisations were kidnapped and one was killed. Most foreign aid workers left the country a long time ago and were replaced by Somalis.

Cross-fire Among the many acts of violence in recent days there was an attempt to kidnap two French journalists in the northern town of Bossaso. A senior Somali official and his wife were killed in a bomb attack in Mogadishu on Saturday while a 17-year-old girl died in a bombing in the western town of Belet Huen.

The Al-Shabab terror group has it's official website hosted in the USA by the Dotster Web Company in Vancouver WA, I have personally been attacked by the Media in Vancouver WA who have printed stories claiming that my insistence on shutting down this Al-Shabab website, (in the interest of National Security), somehow borders on Internet Censorship (Bill Warner Internet Censor), wake up, we are firing missiles at the Al-Shabab in Somalia from Tampa Fl, you do not need to continue to support their website from Vancouver WA. Dotster Web Hosting Co. refuses to shut down the Al-Qaeda linked Al-Shabab website, they site 'freedom of speech", we are firing missiles at these terrorists and you are allowing them to recruit and solicit funds online !
Today, Rep. Sue Myrick (NC-9) released her “Wake Up America” agenda. Rep. Myrick’s goal in releasing her agenda is to alert, and educate, Americans to terrorist threats here at home posed by radical Islamic extremists. This is her agenda, this is not the agenda of the Congressional Anti-Terrorism Caucus. This agenda is the start of Rep. Myrick’s work on these issues. As she moves forward on these points, she will update the public on her findings.
Her ten point agenda is below.
1). Will call for a government investigation of all U.S. military chaplains who were approved by Abdurahman Alamoudi.
2). Will call for a government investigation of all U.S. prison chaplains who were approved by Abdurahman Alamoudi.
4). Will call for the Internal Revenue Service to investigate the Council on American-Islamic Relations’ (CAIR) 501(c)(3) non-profit status which restricts “lobbying on behalf of a foreign government.”
6). Will call on the Government Accountability Office to conduct an audit to verify the total sovereign wealth fund investment in the United States.
