Web Hosts Shut Down al-Qaida Sites in the USA during first week of Feb 2008, one of the sites www.ek-ls.org was picked up by a web company in Malaysia hosted out of Brisbane Australia and back online within a very short time but the site www.ek-ls.org has been shut down, again, on June 5th 2008 and then agian back up on June 9th 2008....Internet whack-a-mole with al-Qaeda.
Twice in one week, al-Qaida websites have been taken off the Internet by Web hosts after being notified by local newspapers. An al-Qaida related site was shut down by Tampa, Florida-based Noc4Hosts after it received a call from a Tampa Tribune (tampatrib.com) reporter. Internet security specialist Paul Henry discovered the new al-Qaida encryption program hosted at www.alekhlaas.info (which is still off-line).
Phoenix, Arizona-based Web hosting provider CrystalTech Web Hosting (crystaltech.com) took down an al-Qaida website www.ek-ls.org after being notified by The Arizona Republic (azcentral.com). The site was reportedly being used by al-Qaida to recruit car bombers, promote war on the West and provide a forum for Islamic militants. Sarasota Private Investigator Bill Warner was responsible for alerting both the Tampa Tribune and the Arizona Republic as to the content of the al-Qaida websites and what web company was hosting the terror websites. Playing a game of Internet Whack-a-Mole, Bill Warner has helped take down nine jihadi Web sites in the past six months, including one of the most important, Alhesbah, a principal forum for supporters of al-Qaida.
The website, www.ek-ls.org (shut down again as of June 5th 2008), offers forum discussions about weapons, explosives and propaganda, often playing out like a resource for terrorists, reports The Arizona Republic. The site contained video casts of an American tank being blown up, as well as messages from al-Qaida leaders and forums in which terrorist acts are openly discussed, says the Middle East Media Research Institute, a non-profit group in Washington, D.C. that tracks and translates Islamic websites.
CrystalTech president Bob Cichon said he was unaware of the site's content when the Web host posted the site. Cichon says CrystalTech has no association with extremists or terrorists of any kind, and that his staff had no way to research the website since its content was entirely written in Arabic. And although the site has been taken down, it still has other domain names and Web hosts around the world that allow it to stay online using different Web addresses, but on June 5th 2008 www.ek-ls.org and http://ekhlaas.ws/forum/ appears to be offline again, a serious blow to al-Qaida's propaganda machine, four days later it is back on-line, one day off line is a victory.
www.ekhlaas.ws/forum/ IP address 22.214.171.124
WEB HOSTING COMPANY FOR THE IP ADDRESS IS Asia Pacific Network Information Centre (APNIC) IN MILTON BRISBANE AUSTRALIA.
WEB Hosting Companies hold the key in shuting down al-Qaida web sites, turn off the name server arrows, lights out, in Brisbane Australia APNIC provides number resource allocation and registration services that support the global operation of the Internet and is the Regional Internet Registry for the Asia-Pacific region (Malaysia).
I have been working on getting the al-Qaida websites www.ek-ls.org and http://ekhlaas.ws/forum/ shut down in Brisbane Australia at APNIC the Regional Internet Registry for the Asia-Pacific region (Malaysia) since Feb 3rd 2008. If APNIC turns off the directional arrows for http://ekhlaas.ws/forum/ (126.96.36.199 = IP address links to APNIC) it will be shut down and not able to be reset and or re-registered anywhere in the Asia-Pacific region.
